For Arrhythmia "I am taking this drug for an arrhythmia and have been since July 2016. I didn't even know I had any condition until I passed out and ended in hospital, I am now 39. I have found that I get off balance from doing to much or if walking around for to long i need to take "breaks". The last week I've started getting major headaches, going to Dr this week about those. I am interested in knowing if anyone has continued their usual workouts? Or if they have been on scary rides at theme parks or even rock climbing etc. will be asking Dr if ok etc but I have been so scared to do too much because of this new condition that my life is not the same and I want my life back!!! Calan SR (verapamil) for Cluster Headaches "I was prescribed this drug when diagnosed with cluster headaches. I used to get between 3 and 8 clusters daily for several months in a row. Once I was prescribed Calan SR (verapamil) the cluster headaches stopped. After having suffered with them from the age of 14 to 24 I considered verapamil a miracle for cluster headaches."

For Migraine Prevention "I've had migraines for over 30 years and have tried so many things. My doctor started me on Verapamil 240mg 3 weeks ago. I've had no relief. If anything my migraines have been more intense. This was pretty much my last chance as I have tried everything else. I average 12 to 15 migraines a month and am so tired of them. I was so hoping this would work. I'm going to give it a little longer but am getting night sweats and dizziness from it."

Calan SR (verapamil) for Arrhythmia "I'm on this medicine for heart arrhythmia. I'm 46, my heart does flip flops and super rapid beats per min. Blood pressure sometimes is 180/110. Then it drops to 96/67, that little roller coaster ride makes you ill. I started the Calan SR 180mg tab. It gives me wicked headache in left lobe & fatigue. It hasn't helped my heart from flip flopping or blood pressure from sky rocketing up then down like a yo-yo. However, it does calm my heart down once I have a spell and I take the meds. I generally fall asleep from fatigue. It could be that I haven't taken it long enough for it to start helping the high blood pressure or the irregular heart beat. Perhaps the second month will show improvement. "

For Cluster Headaches "Verapamil has transformed my life. I have lived with cluster headaches for 15 years now. The other medicine I can highly recommend is Sumatriptan succinate injections. Self administer via pen injector. During a headache the pain relief these bring me is euphoric, as they seem to switch off the pain within 20-30 seconds."

For Cluster Headaches "Was diagnosed with cluster headaches approximately 6 years ago in Canada. Took prednisone to end a couple of cycles, but decided to try verapamil. It works, but I must stress that you must stop drinking any alcohol whatsoever - NONE, don't even smell the bottle (no kidding!) Also, for me, other sure triggers include dark chocolate, white chocolate, but small quantities of milk chocolate are OK. Also, stay away from MSG (monosodium glutamate). Verapamil WILL work, but you have to stay away from triggers to give it a chance! It might take a week or two. I also had to spread it out to 3 times in a day, rather than all in one dose for it to block all headaches at first. Now I'm on 2x120mg and headache-free!"

For Cluster Headaches "Headaches ceased. None in 6 years. No other changes in diet or habits. This drug saved my life, actually close to suicide on several occasions. Not a great blood pressure drug for me, but willing to endure moderate edema for the sake of headache relief. Had a wise and gifted neurologist."

For Cluster Headaches "I am writing this about my son...4 years ago is when the headaches started. As he got older they got worse and worse. His migraines would last 45mins to 2 hours long and have 4-5 headaches a day. He lost his job because of this terrible nightmare, couldn't do anything but stay home and deal with this terrible pain. He at that point had no medical insurance and I was desperate to find out what was wrong with him. I began to search for some kind of emergency help and called Valley Medical. Had a CT scan, and saw a Neorolgist and put him on Verapamil and he has no more headaches. Our nightmare is finally over and I want to thank Valley Medical for all their help with their wonderful doctors to help my son. Now he can live a normal, pain-free life."

For Migraine Prevention "I was diagnosed with chronic migraine at 18 yrs old and put on topamax which helped until recently. I am 23 now and was in a car accident several months ago started having vertigo, dizzy spells before a migraine, and almost everyday is a headache day. I went to a new neuro who started me on 120 mg verapamil, increased to 180 mg,then 240 mg at 240 mg the side effects were too much and am back to 180mg daily. It has def helped reduce vertigo. I still get some dizziness and lightheadedness every now and then. The migraines ate still almost every day. Waking up with a headache and going to sleep with a migraine many days."

For Migraine Prevention "Randomly started getting migraines about a year ago. Went to every doctor possible to figure out what was wrong and finally someone prescribed verapamil. I take 40mg 3x a day along with Migrelief supplements and its helped me more than anything else! Its helped me be able to function normally again. I've noticed it does make me a little lightheaded and I'm tired a lot so it's possible its lowering my blood pressure too much. Rather have that than the migraines though!"

For Migraine Prevention "I have suffered with migraines since I was a small child. I am 47 now. I have tried everything. Depakote was great but I gained a lot of weight and lost half my hair. Some other treatments like Relpax caused amnesia. I am on 3 blood pressure pills including verapamil. I have only had 4 or 5 migraines in 2 years. Two required an ER visit, but that is down from about 6-8 migraines a month and a trip to the ER every 3 months. I can tell if I miss a few days because I forget to get it filled. This drug has made a big difference for me."

For Migraine Prevention "Diagnosis with chronic migraines. Take 100mg verapmil ER daily @ night. Prior to taking had migraines for 6 months every day all day. They have decrease since being on but still not 100% myself so have also started botox every 3 months and now starting to feel like myself again. The combination of the two maybe the answer."

For Arrhythmia "Dose, time, and time are very important . Yes, I mean time and time. Verapamil 240mg ER didn’t work for me it was too strong, but 120 mg ER does. Taking at bedtime didn’t work well for me no idea why, but taking in the morning is better. If I take medicine slightly late like an hour or two I find my heart pounding and fluttering again . For me Verapamil is okay to treat my RVOT. I have been taking it for two months now . So far so good no any sides effects yet. I only had horrible palpitations at first month because 240mg was too strong. It took me a month to find the right does and the right time that work for me. I hope you figure it out faster than me and good luck.."

For Cluster Headaches "I note that this is US based, but thought we could make this trans-Atlantic. I was VERY lucky in that my GP diagnosed cluster headaches very early on and referred me to a Neurologist. I was having an average of 7-8 headaches a day. Have been on 480mg a day (2 x 240mg a day) for a month and half now. Major improvement in about 10 days. Now I am having only a couple a day and they are not as intense. Oxygen at the onset usually clears it, otherwise I have to use a sumatriptan injection (but not very often). Would very much advise verapamil as treatment. The side effects are annoying but better than the excruciating pain."

For Migraine Prevention "Works very well so far. So much better, with less side effects, does not cause the sedation and grogginess like amitriptyline. However, I am experiencing the side effect of constipation which was easily remedied with 1 tsp coconut oil in the morning added to my hot beverage. I am hopeful that this drug continues to work for me. I started on 140mg. I did have migraines during the first week, but since then, I haven't had one for 3 weeks which is life changing for me."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been taking 240mg of Verapamil every night for my migraine headaches for three months and it has worked wonders for me. I occasionally get small headaches but they don't last long and it is nothing compared to my migraine headaches and nausea that I used to experience. I experienced some swelling of my feet and ankles when I first started taking it but it went away."

For Migraine Prevention "I just started on verapamil for migraines/blood pressure 2 weeks ago. I went in to the doctor with a migraine and my blood pressure was high. I can tell a difference and feel better already. After years of awful pain it is a nice relief. However I am sleeping so sound that I don't hear my husband up at night. I take the pill at bedtime. I am not able to get up to run at 4:45 am either."

For Arrhythmia "Been on Verapamil for about 3 weeks. BP in good control and my ankles do not swell as much as the previous medication. I have been having abdo pain since I started the medication. My GP says it is due to constipation. I have never been constipated before. Hope this resolves in the next few weeks. I am going to try prunes."

Verelan PM (verapamil) for Cluster Headaches "My neurologist put me on just about every preventative medicine on the market and none helped stop my clusters. A high dose of Verapamil ER finally did the trick. (240 mg 3x a day) After almost 25 years of episodic cluster headaches I have finally been virtually headache free for about 3 years now! I am a bit worried about the side effects of taking such a high dose for such an extended time though. I've recently been having some voice issues and I'm wondering if there is a correlation."
