For Lupus "Horrible injection, side effects worse than prednisone except you can't make it stop because it lasts at least 3 to 4 weeks after injection. My dermatologist pressured me to get this shot for my inflamed skin, but he did not tell me it would make me so sick with nausea, vomiting, and vertigo that I would not be able to function. Almost a month has gone by, and I am still sick as anything from Kenalog. I will never let a doctor do this to me again! This drug is awful! It makes me thankful for the lupus!"

"Have terrible problems with boils and cysts on my armpits (Hidradenitis Suppurativa). Went to a dermatologist who gave me an injection under my left arm. It's been 3 days, and I have been having trouble with heart palpitations, strong beats, and also sometimes feels like a slow heart rate. It's making me feel like something is wrong with my heart! It's actually quite scary. I'm also having issues with nausea and increased anxiety. How long does this stuff last in your system??? I don't like this at all!"

For Osteoarthritis "70 years, was given Kenalog-40/Lidocaine 10% injection in knee. 2 days later, stomach problems started; queasy, cramps, partial loss of appetite, burping constantly, and not feeling well. I am into a week since the injection. Called the doctor's office and was told this is one of the common side effects. Lasting time varies on individuals. Please be informed of side effects before receiving injections. I will not take it again; I will endure knee pain. I have stomach cramps all day/every day. Pray and hope side effects end soon. Please be informed about what a doctor is administering."

For Inflammatory Conditions "On Feb 15th, I was given an injection in my heel for plantar fasciitis to relieve pain. A couple of days later, I was still a little sore, then after another day, when it all started, anxiety, blurred vision, vertigo, nausea, panic, and acid reflux. Still, 2 months later and dealing with it all. Did blood work and had an MRI on my head. See, the anxiety had me so worried that I got all that work done. Seeing all these posts, I know I am not alone. All my pains and aches are gone. But all these other side effects are much worse, I wish it would just end."

"Absolutely worthless and borderline dangerous. It’s been 3 weeks, still have ringing in my ears, my vision is blurry, and can’t seem to get through anything without being nauseous now and in constant pain. I spent almost 16 hours throwing up nothing with broken ribs, now I'm worse than before. The doctor told me that it only lasts 3-4 days after I got sick from it. But when they gave it to me, they said 3 weeks, and take with 800 mg ibuprofen. Constant burning in my stomach, ears ringing, headaches so bad I can’t seem to completely get rid of them, can’t get a deep breath and now coughing. I guess the doctors pat themselves on the back for not prescribing pain medication, even when it’s needed. I should have known when he just sort of guessed at my X-rays that I shouldn’t expect any help or relief. I wouldn't give this poison to anyone, and anyone who would doesn't care."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I'm a 24-year-old female and have had RA since I was 8 years old. I had an 80 mg IM injection in December, and within 24 hours, my face was red and burning. 5 months later, I am still suffering the horrible side effects of this. I constantly have hot flushes, nausea, irregular menstrual cycles, and unwanted hair growth. I have no idea if and when these symptoms will subside and completely regret taking it. With regard to my joint inflammation, it has eased the pain, but I still have residual swelling. My fatigue has also worsened since the injection."

For Osteoarthritis "Do not get this injection! I got mine about 6 1/2 weeks ago. The first week was okay, no side effects, but no pain relief either. Side effects for me started at week 2 and are still going. Burning mouth/throat, worse anxiety than I already had, extreme nausea, no appetite. I’ve lost 8 lbs, and I cannot afford to lose weight. I’m terrified how long this will go on."
