For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m struggling to get below 154 lbs, and being 5’, that’s a lot of weight to carry, which induces back pain. Lost 20 lbs on Ozempic from the beginning of the year till June, have managed to gain back 5 lbs, which isn’t awful but still not at my goal weight. I just left the ER from getting a bolus of saline due to dehydration. I’m battling hypoglycemia. I took my first shot on Tuesday. Wednesday felt decent, but malaise was setting in. Thursday, I didn’t even realize I had not eaten all day and all night at work. Friday night, I tried to eat half of a sandwich and was completely nauseous. Tonight at work, after eating half a sandwich and a few green beans, I had terrible diarrhea and became so dizzy and nauseated I was forced to leave work, having someone else take over my patients. Just a word of advice: if you’re a busy person, this med may not be for you. I had side effects of fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, and muscle pain, and I was negative for flu, COVID, and strep. The doctor said to go back to Ozempic :( but I’ve lost 6 lbs already!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Controlled hypoglycemia, lowered BG. Lost weight 25 lbs in 6 months. Started at 2.5 mg, presently on 5 mg. Easy to use. Itchy skin, redness after 1 day at injection site. Dissipates after 4-5 days. Only concern is that medication is not easily accessible. Pharmacy is always out of stock, creates anxiety and inconvenience."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I did have many side effects to this medication at first. However, more recently, I have been experiencing fewer side effects. My A1C before taking Mounjaro was above a 10, and now my A1C is 6.3. I have lost 40 lbs and have a satisfied feeling after eating a small amount of food. My side effects at the beginning were rough: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, stomach pain (by my liver and pancreas), excess gas/bloating, hypoglycemia, and sour stomach. I know that this is a bit of a list, however, I feel that it is worth it in the end. I work in a hospital and have seen the outcome of having long-term effects of diabetes, it is not pretty. So, if I have to suffer a little bit to try and prevent long-term effects, then I will. The main effects that I have now, after about a year or more of treatment, are diarrhea, sour stomach, and some gas/bloating. I am currently on the 7.5mg once a week and have been good on this strength for a while."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Had to stop taking Rybelsus (Semaglutide) due to strong abdominal pain. Was able to better handle Mounjaro. Side effects during the first week of treatment with 2.5mg: constipation since I simply was not thirsty at all and forgot to drink fluids. I then kept a timer to remind myself to drink, dizziness due to hypoglycemia, and possible interactions with medications like Vyvanse (Lisdexamphetamine). The absorption of this drug seems delayed, and thus its effectiveness is weaker. It helped with weight loss during the first week, and there was stabilization/no change in weight during week 2 and 3."

For Type 2 Diabetes "At first, the gastrointestinal side effects can be a little overwhelming. I was experiencing loose bowels, constipation, GERD, and stomach upsets. After using Mounjaro for a couple of months now, the intensity level of these side effects has diminished. I still have problems at times with the upper GI. I've been taking 40 mg of Prilosec for years, and when I started taking Monjaro, it was like I wasn't even taking the Prilosec. It just brought symptoms up over top of that medicine, which I thought I had the GERD controlled for years, and it brought it all back. But like I said, the intensity of the upper GI and the liver GI has diminished somewhat. I guess Mounjaro is the next best thing to the cure for diabetes type 2 because my numbers are down very well. You still have to watch out for hypoglycemia, but I'm doing pretty good now, and I don't have an ox appetite like I did before."

"Good tolerance and effective both sugar control and weight reduction. Bad constipation. Delayed site of injection allergy, mainly itching and urticaria-like raised red skin. Developed one-time hypoglycemia after increased effort (no other drug used simultaneously with it)."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This has dropped my sugars much more than Trulicity. Actually having some hypoglycemia I watch with continuous glucose monitoring. I do have some GI upset/nausea the first couple of days after injections."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation, and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate, and if you escalate and find it too much, you can lower down and only have one day of downtime."
