For Type 2 Diabetes "Was only taking this for 7 weeks. The .25 dose I had no side effects. Then went to the .50 dose, and that is when everything started. Had an allergic reaction at the injection site. I got extreme itching and swelling by the 3rd day after the shot, I swelled at the injection site to the size of a softball. My body ached all over, after eating, I would have to go straight to the bathroom. Was getting severe cramping in my legs at night. Was extremely tired after the 2nd dose of the .50. So tried one more dose the following week in a different area and got the same reaction. Called the doctor and going to go back to previous medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was fine on the basic 2.5 mg dose but reacted to the first 5 mg dose at the injection site and surrounding abdominal area with reddening and hardening of the skin. A slight redness also appeared at the site of the previous week's injection, which hadn't appeared at the time. The manufacturer states that its excipient Benzyl Alcohol, used as a preservative, and not mentioned as an excipient on your website, can cause an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, I have not been able to continue with that drug. It was useful to me though. I had struggled to lose the excess 10 lbs I'd acquired with cravings and snacking, despite having a good quality diet overall. The drug reduced my cravings, and on the starting dose, I managed to lose 4-5 lbs over the first month. My HRV increased while on it, a sign of less stress, and has decreased again having come off it. For those that don't have the same issues as me, I think it's a game changer. It's also very easy to administer."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Mounjaro due to negative diabetic blood & other chemistry results & did not want to use, restart any diabetic medications due to allergic type results with them. I am also an emotional, indiscriminate eater. I was 77 years old & extremely sedentary. BP 120/88, 213 pounds. When I started in February of 2022 at beginners dose for three months when Blood Results were first taken, A1c was at 7.5; blood sugar, 100. BP, other blood results were all within acceptable limits @ that time, even though on a negative high end. With the start of the first injection, I noticed a fullness in my 'stomach' that did not allow me try to stuff myself. Not only did it not allow me to overeat or shove the food in my mouth, I lost that desire. Food did not become the first & foremost thought in my head. What I thought about was how to manage eating. I started seriously fasting (nothing after 5-6 pm except water or unsweetened ice tea, breaking fast around 5-6 am). Currently on 5 mg, A1c 6."

For Type 2 Diabetes "So far so good. It is in a drug family that I have had allergic reactions to. I am 3.5 weeks in and no reactions yet. I have cut my insulin use from 30 units daily to only 6 units, 3 times since I started. I was on Ozempic at 2.0 dosage and switched due to unavailability. Had hit a plateau in my weight loss. Now am again on the downward path. I am on 5. Am very hopeful that I won't experience allergic reaction. Really easy to use, however, the packaging seems to be overkill. Instead of one pen, there are 4."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The medication did help. I started in September 2024, dosage 2.5 Mounjaro. After 4 weeks, I noticed itching bumps that lasted 2 days after the injection. I told my doctor, and she decided this was not good. As of November 2024, she will no longer prescribe because of this side effect. I explained it was not a problem for me, but she will not prescribe, said I was allergic to it? It was good while it lasted. Not sure what to do now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost weight, very happy about it, but I developed an allergic reaction, hives over my chest at the beginning. Then over other parts of my body, itching, insupportable. I don’t know what to do."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had tried several diabetic drugs & injections. I was allergic or they just did not work to lower my sugar. Then I tried Mounjaro. It lowered my A1C, my cholesterol, and I lost 40 lbs. I love it!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried to leave a review, but for some reason, it wasn't posted, so I will try again. My doctor took me off of Mounjaro recently. I developed large welts about 24 hours after I injected the 75 doses and 10. My doctor fears I am developing an allergic reaction, so I am going back to the rival insulin alternative. (I had more side effects with the Ozempic: exhaustion, extreme nausea, and constipation, but hopefully, over time, they go away this time.) Too bad, because I really wanted to stay on Mounjaro. It should be noted that I really like Mounjaro very much. Well-controlled sugar, once I was on my maintenance dose of 10. For some reason, I gained five pounds while on Mounjaro, I never lost weight, where I lost about 15 pounds on the other mentioned insulin alternative. It seems that other patients on other review sites have this welt issue too. The issue should be reported not only to the doctor, but per the request of the manufacturer, please report to them as well."
