Tamsulosin "I used this for BPH. I took it for 9 months before quitting due to side effects. It helped some with getting up at night, but not worth it. My ejaculate almost disappeared before I realized it was happening. Also, my sexual desire decreased. Replaced Flomax with doxazosin, which was a little better, but not much. Stopped everything and had the Rezum procedure. Now I am back to normal. Meds with negative sexual side effects are not for me."

Tamsulosin "Upon starting on Flomax, urination flow was 100% improved. After 1 month, urine flow somewhat diminished but was still much better than without taking Flomax. I am trying to work through side effects, including a mild headache, lightheadedness, diminished libido/sexual desire, diminished volume in bowel movements, and gas. I am in my 3rd month of Flomax and am not sure the benefits will outweigh the many side effects I am experiencing."

Tamsulosin "Immediately after starting to take Flomax, I lost bladder control while sleeping. I wet the bed 2 to 3 times every night. I have traded one problem for another. My doctor started me with 2 0.4mg capsules daily."

Tamsulosin "I started taking tamsulosin in the middle of September 2019. After a few weeks, I started to develop a loss of appetite and debilitating weakness. I became nauseous and was unable to eat. This was not tiredness or drowsiness, but a profound weakness that prevented anything associated with normal activities. I stopped taking tamsulosin on Thursday, 10/10/19. I guess I will know better in a few days."

Tamsulosin "I started Flomax a week ago. I'm 58 years old. I had been having a very active sex life (some days 2-3 times a day with my partner). Now I literally lost a lot of my 'sex drive,' and I also have a hard time maintaining an erection. The worst is if I orgasm, not even more than a drip of semen comes out. Now I have to choose, stop the medicine, or lose my partner of 12 years. I can get Viagra, but I don't think that you can take the two together. Ugh..."

Tamsulosin "Flomax gave me serious side effects, including the following: toothache, gum infection, sinus infection, cough, chest pain, vision problem, muscle ache, muscle weakness, dizziness, premature ejaculation, inability to hold an erection for sex, lack of orgasm after painful ejaculation."

Tamsulosin "I have been taking Flomax for a week now, passing pee improved a lot, however, I experienced a severe stomach cramp that lasted about six hours, a constant niggly headache, and a strange feeling of vertigo, blurry vision on and off. Today my whole abdomen feels like it's on fire! It also feels like fever shakes. Terrible side effects, at least for me. I would rather continue herbal treatment, which has worked for the last ten years or so."

"Had issues with weak urination, stop and start to the flow, but managed. Until I started to unexpectedly “leak” while lying in bed at night for no reason, and I always felt like I had to urinate. So I began taking this. Shortly thereafter, I would get this insane ringing in my right ear. The top of my head, forehead, and lips would start to feel like they were vibrating, and I had a serious intense headache just behind my forehead. Looking back, 3 weeks after I started this medication, I began having tooth sensitivity, and after going to my dentist and having her x-ray three different teeth for cavities, they came back perfectly fine. I also had a very difficult time falling asleep at night. I didn’t realize all these conditions were related to this drug until I read all the reviews and picked out bits and pieces from everyone else’s and realized I was experiencing them all. Time to find a new drug."

Tamsulosin "Been on Flomax for BPH for 7-8 years now. It's improved my urinary volume and flow rate. But it has also caused me to have dry ejaculations at times. I can maintain an erection and have multiple ejaculations, but its effect on relaxing the prostate slows my volume of ejaculate."

Tamsulosin "Took Flomax for BPH when I had to urinate 3 times a night. While on Flomax, I had to urinate 6 or 7 times a night. I switched to Rapaflo with much better results, although it is much more expensive. I didn’t have any side effects from Rapaflo."

Tamsulosin "Initially, I took the low dosage and flow improved for about a week. Then the condition worsened. My doctor then upped my dosage to two pills per day. Same thing happened initially - flow improved and then reverted back to the prior condition. But as I continued to use the drug (2 times a day), the improved condition returned. Sometimes the flow is better than other times - like when my bladder is more full. Trips to the bathroom at night were reduced to 0 to 1 time. Side effects. Initially, I experienced many side effects - runny nose, minor headache, aches and weakness in my back and shoulder, and retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation is the only side effect that seems to persist."

"Only moderately effective, however, the sexual dysfunction side effects are rampant. This drug has caused erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, and reduced libido and semen volume. In short, it makes having sex difficult and sometimes impossible, and it drastically reduces the pleasure. I can't imagine why mainstream medicine could possibly consider these side effects as acceptable to the average male with a healthy sexual appetite."

Tamsulosin "I have been using a combination of Flomax with finasteride for a period of, say, 2 years. Actually, this drug met my requirements, such as smooth urination and broad, fast streaming. If I forget to take this capsule one night, in the morning all troubles relapse. The disadvantage is the side effects. I am having many mild problems, such as postural hypotension, peeling inside my hands and legs, mild migraine, and intermittent constipation, but I don't know whether I can attribute all these complaints to the drug. My serious problem is retrograde ejaculation. Fortunately, there is no priapism. The second serious problem is meager erection, so I seldom share a bed with my wife. But I masturbate once weekly, which does not require full erection."

"Urinating well, but took several months for full effect. Still going twice a night. But flow is good. I would say this is the best thing since sliced bread if it weren't for the sexual side effects. My orgasms before taking Flomax were very intense. Now after four months it is like I even don't want to have sex. There is build up, but no release whatsoever."

Tamsulosin "I was having the usual symptoms - hesitation, weak stream, frequency day and night, incomplete emptying - sometimes couldn't go at all unless I got in a hot shower. Very frustrating. I started and stopped this twice. The first time, I was alarmed at ejaculation problems (no semen), the second time for irregular heartbeat. But the side effects seem to have subsided this third try. Even though I don't ejaculate, I do reach orgasm. This is a minor bother compared to how effective it is at solving all my symptoms. I've been on it two weeks."

Tamsulosin "I have frequent urination at night. Dr. prescribed Flomax. I took my first pill last evening, 30 minutes after dinner. Felt nauseous in the morning. Got up for work and nearly passed out in the shower. Flopped on the bed, wrapped in a towel. Had a cold sweat. My BP must have dropped. I did not go to work today and have been lethargic all day. I am not taking Flomax ever again."

Tamsulosin "This is my third comment. Last one I had found that eliminating coffee helped the drug work better. Well, it worked so well that coffee intake crept back in, and now, although it works, the side effects are off the charts: fatigue, no strength, sinus congestion, runny nose, shortness of breath, vision problems. Awful. So I am experimenting, taking it every other day. As soon as the side effects clear up, its effectiveness dwindles. If I can skip two days, I'll have a good night's sleep on the second night and no congestion on the third day. Last I took it was early Friday morning, and it's now Monday at noon. I'm a little nervous going to work, but I'm going to try and make it. If I get really stuck, dunking or spraying my penis with warm water can get things started (like a warm shower can do). I'm taking Cialis 5mg and a natural supplement. I'll have to quit coffee again. I hope to God to wean off this drug and not have to go with a procedure."

Tamsulosin "Before Flomax for 6 weeks I had experienced urgency to urinate, dribbling, reduced flow. Within one day of starting Flomax, it was like magic - I noticed increased flow, no dribbling, no urgency to urinate, less frequent urination. Also, I noticed that the muscles in my groin area seemed more relaxed. I did notice an undesirable side effect though: dry mouth. I have to speak a lot at work, and a couple of times my mouth dried up and I had difficulty speaking."

Tamsulosin "Just started taking this over almost a week. 1st thing I noticed was weak orgasm, little to no semen. Penis is largely flaccid. Flow has improved hope the dribble improves within the next week. Semen and orgasm may be an issue for me though."

Tamsulosin "After a few days, Flomax did work and increased my stream. I was unable to orgasm or ejaculate on this drug. If you have no interest in sex, it does work. I took the lowest dosage. I believe it was 0.4 mg. I stopped taking the drug and am going to the doctor to try another."

Tamsulosin "I am 52 years old and have been taking this drug for the last 2 years. I have finally come to the conclusion that the side effects of Flomax and what I am feeling are real. Mostly fatigue, body aches and pains, and headaches associated with back pain and sinus aches and pains. My libido is mostly okay, and sex is normal. Thinking seriously of stopping this med and seeing what happens."

Tamsulosin "Since being on Flomax, my bowels don't function properly. Constipation. Need laxative every 3 days. Stomach aches, cramps, low energy, dizziness. Just generally feel bad. Hardly ever leave home now. It's terrible. Been on it 90 days. Wasn't sick until I started taking this drug. I'll elect surgery early if necessary to get off this drug."

"I took Tamsulosin for around four months and more or less immediately started suffering from anorgasmia (couldn’t reach climax) and struggled to get an erection too. Thought it was age-related (58 at that time) until I saw other reviews saying similar issues. Went to see my doctor and persuaded her to take me off it and go for green light laser PVP treatment instead, which I had around six months later. Took several more months until things went back to normal. Now 61, and things are all working fine. Just think this side effect is more common than the leaflet tells. Also had a devastating effect on me psychologically and got quite depressed, but thankfully, I’m over it now. I’ve never had any reaction to any other drug I’ve taken, so just want people to be aware of this if they take Tamsulosin."

Tamsulosin "I don't know if this medicine would have worked or not because after three days, I was so weak and dizzy from low blood pressure that I stopped taking it. Better to get up 1-2 times a night to pee than pass out from walking across the house. If you have low-to-normal blood pressure, watch out. Also tried doxazosin/Cardura before this with similar results."

Tamsulosin "Just started taking Flomax (generic)... waiting to see what happens. On the web, most of the reviews are very negative and not encouraging. Why does this drug still get prescribed? With all of the negative reviews I have just read, it really amazes me this drug is used for BPH."
