For Bacterial Vaginosis "This is my first time using Solosec. The pharmacist emphasized NOT crushing or chewing the granules. I poured a bit on top of each spoonful of applesauce so that I could just swallow it immediately with no chewing (plus, by not mixing it into the applesauce, it didn't have to touch my tongue, so no bitter taste!!!) I'm making sure not to drink any alcohol this week, even though they say it is okay to. The next day, odor was worse and possible yeast infection...but 2 days later, there seems to be a sign of hope with no odor and unsure about the yeast infection still. But here is something important for those with recurring BV issues... Get checked for ureaplasma!!! It's not as common, but could be what is making BV not go away, it's a different type of antibiotic that needs to be used. Good luck to all with this mentally draining issue!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ok, so I really hope this helps someone. I was put on Solosec after my doctor decided to treat BV with a different medication besides metronidazole since it is usually a seven-day treatment and kills all good and bad bacteria, which usually causes yeast infections. She said Solosec may cause yeast infections, but since it’s a one-dose round, she figured we would try. I drank nothing but water when I woke up and mixed the granules of the Solosec with applesauce. Kinda gross, but it’s that or the infection (your choice). I decided to wait an hour after eating to have my first meal of the day, and I’ve had no issues. This stuff works! Please don’t drink alcohol when using this medication or any medication that is supposed to treat your vagina. Alcohol throws off your natural pH and is known to cause adverse reactions in antibiotics."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It didn’t work for me at all. What a waste of time and money. It left me with a yeast infection, a nasty taste in my mouth, and nausea. Once I was off my period, back to the smell. I’ll just stick to boric acid suppositories in the meantime."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this drug in December of 2018. It was disgusting tasting, which I didn't care about, and I got every single one of the side effects listed. The worst part of it though is from then until this day in 2020, I have had recurring yeast infections, 3 UTIs, and BV again. There has been absolutely no changes in my life that would lead to this, so I'm worried the medication made this happen. So now I'm just going to try to spread the word and hope that people read reviews BEFORE taking this medication. They should also check each of the ingredients and see if they're sensitive to any of them. It's only a few years old. Perhaps even try something more established."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ok, so I wanted to write this review to help everyone who is nervous about taking this, as I was after reading the scary reviews. First off, I had absolutely zero side effects, I felt completely normal. The medicine does taste gross, but I took it with yogurt, and it wasn't a big deal. I did not drink alcohol for a week just to be sure. The BV cleared, but it did give me a yeast infection, which I treated with over-the-counter medication. Unfortunately, my BV came back after my next period, but I am going to try boric acid suppositories this time. Best of luck."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "The taste wasn't great, but definitely manageable. I don't know why it's marketed that one can drink while taking it, because my experience and other reviews (which I should have read ahead of time) say otherwise. Took it on Christmas Eve, had a few glasses of wine and spent the entire night and next day vomiting profusely. After about 2 days, the nausea went away. However, about a week later, I'm now feeling some itching and discomfort down there. Apparently, another possible side effect is a yeast infection, but I'm praying the vaginal infection gods will take pity on me and spare me..."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took the medicine, it was a horrible taste, and it didn’t get rid of my BV, and it also caused me to get a yeast infection. I would not recommend this to anyone."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It cured the BV, but gave me the absolute worst yeast infection I’ve ever had in my whole life. I will stick to metronidazole."
