For Bacterial Vaginosis "So, I’ve been struggling with recurring BV for about 6 years now. I would take medications, and BV would be back a week later. I’ve tried all types of home remedies, and nothing worked. So, my doctor prescribed me Solosec, and although the taste is not the best, it was manageable. I took it with strawberry apple sauce, and ladies, I have been BV-free for 3 months now. I’m able to have sex with my partner without a smell. I’ve been able to wear my undies without panty liners now, and I could really just cry right now how this stuff has worked after multiple doctor's appointments, one after another, and basically the same results. But I am so happy I finally found something that works."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I don’t tend to leave reviews, but here I am. After reading pages of horror stories, I had to weigh in. Here is my story. Mixed it in yogurt and powered through in 4 bites. THERE IS A REASON YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO MIX INTO YOGURT, PUDDING, OR APPLESAUCE. They don’t require chewing. Do not, and I’ll repeat, DO NOT bite the granules. Do whatever you can to just swallow. I bit one towards the end, accidentally, and that was the first hint of bad taste. JUST DON’T BITE THEM. It’s been 12+ hours now? Still fine. So far, so good. No idea if this will actually fix my BV, but after being terrified for weeks, staring at that innocent packet, I feel compelled to share my NON-horrible experience with ingesting Solosec."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ladies, stop sticking stuff in your vaginas. I suffered from BV for 15 years and took one dose of Solosec (yes, it tastes horrible, but I could care less if it cured the problem). It's been 2 weeks, and it worked. I have read every piece of literature on the subject, from biofilms to enzymes to probiotics to peroxide. Do not cheat yourself. You can ask for a coupon from the health provider, the medicine is expensive without a coupon, but with a coupon, it's only 25 bucks. I repeat, stop putting all that stuff in your vaginas."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I suffered from recurrent BV for almost 5 years. I mean getting it almost every month and trying EVERYTHING. After every period, it would come back, and after having sex, it would come back. I tried the gel inserts and the pills, which taste horrible and leave a horrible taste in your mouth the whole 7-10 days. A year and a half ago, a new doctor prescribed this, and it was life-changing. I took it with applesauce. The taste is horrific, I gagged and had to chase it with juice so I wouldn’t vomit, but once it’s down, no side effects. And I was free from BV for a year and a half, the longest I’ve been BV-free since I was 19!!! I just got it again, which I’m okay with since it has been so freaking long since the last time, and I requested this. My insurance doesn’t cover it, but if you visit the website, you can find coupons. I found one where it was only $75, seems like a lot, but I promise it is sooooo worth it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "2 years to the day, I have had over 12 cases of BV. It's really mind over matter. I have suffered so much that I would and have done just about everything! Just pick your favorite yogurt, one that is healthier than your typical Yoplait. Also, it says you may take this with pudding. I didn't expect for this to taste good, but it's been about 20 minutes since I took this, and so far I'm okay. Ohhh, and ironic, I HATE yogurt. It did taste bad, but I think it's because I couldn't stand the yogurt. I'd do this over having BV and the recurrent yeast infections I get from the antibiotics. Seriously! Tell yourself you'll be okay and don't give power to your feeling of a side effect. IT'S NOT THAT BAD!! Good luck to you all, I hope I give you girls a little better hope and less fear of this drug."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "At my annual pap, my gynecologist tested me for BV. It came back positive, so she prescribed me Solosec. Unfortunately, I had to pay $75 through the Kroger pharmacy, as my insurance did not cover it. Based on previous reviews, I was nervous to take it. The taste is not great, and it's definitely bitter. I mixed it in 3/4 cup of applesauce with cinnamon. And then when I finished it, I ate more applesauce with cinnamon. I found that to take away the bitterness quickly. It's like when you let a pill sit on your tongue too long, it gets super bitter, but goes away in a few minutes. And within a couple of days, my symptoms had cleared. I would take it again if needed because it worked so well. I would definitely recommend!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have been struggling with BV for over 3 months now. I have lost a pregnancy at 13 weeks due to this infection. I have tried 5 rounds of different medications. I tried Solosec, and it did not cure the BV. It made me sick as a dog the whole day, as well as a terrible taste in my mouth for about 3 days after."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took Solosec Sunday with applesauce (it is now Tuesday), and it was GROSS, so much so it left a bitter taste in my mouth for a while. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but I also wouldn't not recommend it (to each its own). It does seem to be working as far as treating my BV. No odor, discharge, itching, etc. I tried this method for treating my BV because it's only a one-time dose, but if it was to come back (I really hope it doesn't), I would not want to take this again. The taste, nausea, and cost are a no from me."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very bitter taste to it, took it with yogurt and had to swallow it down. Woke up with a metallic taste in my mouth. Made everything taste off, had a headache each day for 4 days, bloated, and nauseated. On day 3, I had 2 Coronas and we BBQ'd some hamburgers for dinner. 2 hours later, I was projectile vomiting my dinner. I felt better once I had vomited, but I was down the rest of the night. I thought maybe it was bad beef, but no one in my family got sick. I felt pregnant (which I'm not) or flu-like symptoms. I would not take this again as there are other Rx out there that can help with BV. Yes, the BV is gone, but feeling sick for 4-5 days was too much for me."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So it’s been an hour since I took the medication. Yes, it was a bad taste but bearable with applesauce. I have been suffering from BV now for 2 years, and it always comes back. I have tried everything and was told about this 1-dose miracle. So far, so good, nothing is bothering me right now. I will post tomorrow to say how it has worked or hasn’t. But I also have a UTI. My Dr. prescribed both drugs for me and didn't say that I couldn’t take them together."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It didn’t work for me at all. What a waste of time and money. It left me with a yeast infection, a nasty taste in my mouth, and nausea. Once I was off my period, back to the smell. I’ll just stick to boric acid suppositories in the meantime."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I used this medicine last week, and the taste is horrible. The whole time taking this medication with yogurt, I was gagging!! But I was desperate to get rid of this recurring BV, so I finished it. Omg, it was the worst experience I had. I never had any allergic reaction towards any medication, but this was horrifying. I vomited all night for 6 hours with no stop until I was ready to go to the emergency room. It didn't work for me because I started throwing it up 5 hours after taking the medication."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this medication 6 days ago and am unfortunately still having a really strange side effect of feeling like I’m sucking on a sour penny all the time. My tongue is yellow and tastes horribly sour and bitter, especially after eating a meal. My doctor's office has not heard of this as a side effect yet, but hopefully I’m not alone... I experienced nausea, fatigue, and a very strange bout of (oddly painless) diarrhea on day 4 that snuck up on me out of nowhere after eating a poke bowl from a place I always eat poke from with no issues - perhaps this medication and raw fish do not mix well? Anyway, I’d never take it again due to the weird yellow tongue, bitter taste, and dry mouth. As far as the BV symptoms go, I’m not really sure if it cured it. I’ve never had BV before and I originally went in for a yeast infection and got the result of yeast and BV to treat. Good luck to everyone taking it for the first time."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This is the only medication I will take for this problem. It works fast, and I can tell the difference after the 1st 24 hrs. It tastes nasty, but what medicine tastes good? Put it in your yogurt and swallow!! Don't chew it, just SWALLOW!! NO MORE using creams for 5-7 days and no pill twice a day for 5-7 days... I'll choose this every single time! Use online coupons to get it cheap."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have taken this medicine on two different occasions, and they worked for me both times. I mixed it in with applesauce and swallowed it without taking any bites. I also took it on a full stomach, so it would prevent me from being nauseous just in case. Other than the unpleasant taste of the medication, I was absolutely fine. Sometimes you can work yourself up over reading other people's reviews, as everybody's bodies will not have the same reaction to a medication. On the other hand, I have tried other medications like metronidazole, which gave me horrible headaches along with making me feel extremely nauseous, so imagine dealing with that for 7 days straight. So with that being said, I would definitely recommend Solosec to anyone. This one-time dose is amazing, but the choice is yours."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Okay, so I’ve taken this twice. I work in OB/GYN, and this medication is a great alternative for many people. The first time, I don’t remember any side effects. Yes, horrible taste. I’ve mixed it with applesauce both times, and you definitely want to shove it in and swallow ASAP until it’s gone. I had one patient who opened the packet too quickly, and the granules spilled all over, so be careful! The second time I took this... yikes. I took it on a Thursday night. Friday night I had a work event where I consumed two White Claw drinks and a shot of Fireball over a 3-hour time span. I ended up the rest of the night vomiting about 5 times in a 3-4 hour span. Nothing else was wrong with me, which is why I’m positive it has to be the medication. I was finally okay the next morning. This medication is not supposed to interact with alcohol like metronidazole does, but I don’t necessarily believe that after my experience, so just be careful!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve taken this medicine 3 times now. I get BV way too often. The first 2 times I took this medicine, the only thing I experienced was a nasty taste in my mouth, which is expected when taking it. But last night I took it and had 2 mixed drinks. This morning I was throwing up violently. The worst taste ever. I don’t know if it was the alcohol, but my suggestion is DO NOT drink alcohol while on this medicine, at least for 24 hours. I wish I would’ve read some of the reviews before drinking, but I just assumed it was okay because the manufacturer said so. Too many people are saying don’t drink with this medicine. And I feel like it really was the alcohol because I’ve taken it two times before and didn’t have these problems. Hope this helps somebody!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Was prescribed this Solosec for the first case of BV. The taste was disgusting, like most are saying, but I didn't have as much trouble getting it down like others. It did leave a lingering bad taste in my mouth, which is still there a day after taking it. Experienced a slight headache and some dizziness on the first day after taking it, but nothing horrible. But that night after drinking two beers, I woke up about 4 hours later with a horrible stomachache and nausea. I don't usually have reactions to medicines, so this was not normal for me at all. If the BV does come back, I will definitely ask for a different med."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I used a coupon and got this medicine for $25 to cure my BV. I took this on a Friday around 10 a.m., and it has a horrible taste. I mixed it with strawberry applesauce and apple juice to help swallow, and it still was horrible. This medicine sat in my stomach and made me feel just really uneasy/uncomfortable. I did drink alcohol the same night I took, which was a mistake. I didn’t actually vomit, but I felt very nauseous. Today is now Sunday, and I still feel sick to my stomach, very uncomfortable. I do not recommend this medicine at all. It’s a one-time dose, but the sickness and nausea are not worth it. I’ll be taking the 5-7 days antibiotics from now on."
