For Motion Sickness "Used the patch while on a trip overseas, where I would be on a boat and also being driven around. I get seasick and carsick. This worked well for the most part, but I had blurry vision and light sensitivity. I did have the patch fall off a few times while showering and replaced it right away. I used this for a 14-day trip. I stopped after the area became irritated on day 10, and the area is still slightly swollen."

For Motion Sickness "I get extremely motion sick on any kind of moving things, and I was booked on a flight when weather conditions were far from good. I was nervous, so I used the patch. Halfway through my trip home, my plans changed to overnight and continued on the next day. I removed the patch, washing my skin behind my ear and thinking that would be enough since I had only been wearing it maybe five hours or less. The next morning, I put on a new patch, MISTAKE! Then to make it worse, I took a Dramamine, MISTAKE! Drug interactions were terrible. I started hallucinating on the flight, and it continued through the evening. Seeing people that weren't there, etc. I had not checked to see if there were any drug interactions before I took the Dramamine. I am guessing that even applying the second patch was not that smart either. Lesson learned! However, I was not sick on some extremely bumpy flights, but I was saying all kinds of crazy things and getting some very weird looks from fellow passengers... lol."

For Motion Sickness "I was recently prescribed this for “motion sickness”/light-headedness while out and about. I wore two of the patches with three days in between, and apparently, the scopolamine didn’t disperse fully from my body quick enough and just kept building up. It ended up sending me into a panic attack due to all of the scopolamine, which after that, I looked up more about scopolamine and found that it is actually one of the world's most dangerous drugs when used in high doses. So if I could rate this 0/10, I would. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. After that, they did, however, put me on diazepam (Valium), which helps amazingly."

For Motion Sickness "Second time I have used, first was for a 3-day cruise this time for 5. I was OK while wearing it, but a few hours after I took it off, I got dizzy and very nauseated with blurred vision. Dramamine helped some. Next day I felt awful but ran a half marathon and ended up in urgent care because I was so nauseated after, and my arms were tingling. He gave me meclizine, which has helped some, but it's still going in 4 days later. Hoping it ends soon."

For Motion Sickness "I took a cruise on Doubtful Sound in New Zealand. The cruise down and back up the Sound was fine, and I probably didn't need any kind of motion sickness medication for that. But they went out into the Tasman Sea for about 1/2 hour. It was a beautiful, sunny autumn day, but it became clear within 3-4 minutes that the Transderm-Scop was not working at all in open ocean waters... which is where I really needed this to work. I used this med successfully many years ago, so it makes me think something has changed. Disappointing!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "It didn't work so well for me. I had the patch worn behind the ear for 3 days. The patch stays in place even after showering, which surprised me. Just wish it worked better. The vomiting decreased, but left me with endless dry heaves and mad hiccups."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I used this patch for my surgery, and I didn't get sick like I normally do after a surgery. I will use it again for sure if I have a procedure or surgery done again. It's so nice to NOT wake up vomiting!"

For Motion Sickness "The reason I'm giving it a 9 instead of 10 is because of its side effects. Otherwise, this patch works really well for an overnight or two-day fishing trip (at least in my experience). I thought I was getting cold and feeling sick after I got off the fishing boat because my throat was getting dry and drier and drier. At that time, I wasn't aware that one of its side effects was dry mouth/throat. Aside from that, I didn't feel anything anymore after a couple of days. I'll use it again for my next fishing trip. I'll opt for a dry throat versus getting sick on the boat."

For Motion Sickness "So it worked... I normally suffer from motion sickness in cars if I'm not driving. I decided to put the patch on before a 14-hour long international flight... I didn't suffer from any motion sickness, but it made me illiterate! I could see fine except for letters and numbers (or basic shapes). So I get to the airport at my destination in Uganda, and going through customs, I needed to fill out a basic form about the reason for my visit, etc... only I couldn't read it to save my life! I'd use it again in an emergency, but be aware of the potential side effects."

For Motion Sickness "I suffer from motion sickness and was prescribed this. I've used it twice now on weekend car trips, and it works great. I didn't suffer any motion sickness symptoms. I look forward to trying it out at the amusement parks this summer, as I haven't enjoyed them in years due to motion sickness."

For Motion Sickness "This drug completely changed my experience of deep sea fishing trips and being on the boat in general. I applied the patch before bed so that it would be in full effect by the next morning. Only side effects upon waking were mild imbalance and incoordination, but this went away after eating a breakfast sandwich and coffee. I only began to feel a little sleepy/drowsy on the way home, which I believe is pretty normal for anyone exposed to that much motion at one time (the sunburn, heat, and humidity I’m sure exacerbated it). Through all of this, the patch stayed on great, but I did not swim. I’m 5’1”, 123 lb, 22-year-old female, and the dosing was fine for me. Do not cut the patch in half if you feel this to be necessary (which it may be if you are below 100 lbs like my friend who did experience side effects). Please just keep half of the backing on the patch to seal the other side, then use surgical tape from your first aid kit to make sure that it doesn't flop around."

For Motion Sickness "Have to take this when I am on cruises or would have motion sickness. 1st 5 years I took this no problem. The 6th cruise my throat closed up and could hardly swallow while eating. It dawned on me to try Prilosec. It enabled me to swallow. This has happened the last 5 years over a 5-year stretch of cruises."

For Nausea/Vomiting "My doctor prescribed this Transderm patch prior to an outpatient procedure. I was very careful and followed the instructions, making sure to wash my hands before and after placing the patch behind my ear. Only to wake up 10 hours later feeling so dizzy and nauseous. Worst of all was my vision. When I arrived at the hospital, my vision was so blurry I couldn't even read the paperwork I was signing, couldn't see the time on my cell phone, or read any messages. My pupils were very dilated, this lasted for 2 days. I'm on day 3, and my vision is back to normal, but upon doing too much, I'm still dizzy and nauseous. I always read thoroughly before I take anything, so I know I did NOT get this in my eyes by not doing as directed. Scary stuff!!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Patch used for second general anesthesia experience since I vomited after the first time. I know they also switched me from a gas/IV combo to pure IV sedation, so although I did not vomit this time (yay!), I don't know if I can attribute it to the patch or to the sedation change, but probably both. Please be aware these patches are NOT meant for long-term use - they will have withdrawal effects! If you rebound, you will have the very effects you were trying to prevent in the first place. For my purpose, after surgery, it's worked great. I wouldn't wear them for weeks at a time."

For Motion Sickness "This works, but has side effects. If you suffer from motion sickness like me, this patch allows you to do all kinds of activities that you would not normally do. Read the label: dry mouth & fuzzy close-up vision after 36 hours on the patch, and motion sickness the first 48 hours after you take the patch off, are the most common side effects. I have used the patches numerous times over the past 10 years; I have been able to go on a VERY ROUGH one-week cruise, fly, boat, and scuba dive in the ocean thanks to Transderm V. I have suffered through all of the 'side effects' every time I used the patch, which were all manageable considering the activities I was able to enjoy because I was taking the patch."

For Motion Sickness "So I have used this patch for cruises, and I always have to cut the patch in half and switch ears every three days. My mouth gets very dry, even with half a patch. Although I do not get sick on the ship, which has been a blessing, the patch has left me with a dry mouth forever. I need someone to tell me what to do about it because I want to continue cruising. I don’t take any other medication. Each time I use this patch, my mouth gets dryer and never bounces back."

For Motion Sickness "I used the patch for 5 days before taking it off because it didn’t help nausea, and I was starting to get blurry vision. 2 days later, I was dealing with significantly worse nausea than I had when I was prescribed the drug, my vision was blurrier, I had a strong, painful sensitivity to light, and it felt like my eyes were burning. My doctor failed to disclose withdrawal and adverse side effects of the medication. I feared I was going blind, and I began forgetting things, feeling disoriented, and dizzy. Now it’s been a week since I stopped, and I haven’t been able to keep food down in 6 days. This may be a safe drug for most people—my reaction to this medication isn't common, but it’s an intense drug and can cause debilitating symptoms for weeks after using the patch for only days. Be sure you trust your prescribing doctor and that he or she discloses possible side effects and risk factors, because I assure you that you will prefer motion sickness over the withdrawal symptoms of this medication."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given a 72-hour patch following a minor foot surgery, and all I can say is never again! There isn't enough space for me to detail all of my side effects while using the patch, but I mainly wanted to share how I got off of it for those struggling post-surgery. I had my patch on for 85 hours, and by that time, the majority of the medicine had already left the patch, so it was a good time to taper off. I cut it in half and reapplied it for 24 hours, at which point I switched it out for the other half. I wore that for 24 hours as well, then removed it and immediately started on a dose of 12 mg OTC meclizine every 10 hours for 3 doses. I then cut the halves into quarters and finished with 6 mg meclizine every 10 hours for 3 doses as well."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Never take this drug! I was on a 7-day cruise and took the ear patch. At first, I had blurred vision, and after removing the patch off when the cruise was done, things went horrible. I had nausea, dizziness. Went to the doctor and was told I had vertigo and couldn't get back to work. I had to suffer because of the side effects of this patch. Not sure how the FDA approved this, this is a dangerous drug and should NEVER be prescribed."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Took a tour of Greece, Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. After taking the patch off, I had nausea, vomiting, and a headache. I have been back home for a week now and am still having headaches. It has to be from these patches because I never had headaches before. Will never use them again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Long history of post-op nausea (PONV) here. Excellent care team applied the patch about an hour before surgery (along with IV Zofran) to stop the nausea. Really hoped it would help. The dizziness, blurred vision, and very dry mouth made me feel worse-dying of thirst. Drank too fast post-op and had some of the worst PONV ever. CRNA said to wear it for 3 days; I took it off after about 36 hours; my doctor switched me from oral promethazine (did not stay down) to meltable Zofran, which was much better. Hope it works better for others."

For Motion Sickness "Over the past two years, I have used the patch six times. Well, after my most recent experience, I am going to resort to Dramamine again. Like others commenting here, I had many more side effects after using the patch on both ends of my trip. Dizziness, tiredness, and vision issues. But my tipping point occurred 12 hours after applying this last patch. My three-hour flight was great. No problems. I arrived home very late, slept for three hours, and woke with the urge to pee six different times in 20 minutes. There was blood in my urine and painful cramping. THEN I remembered to remove the patch. I slept with no more symptoms and felt fine."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Awful. Wore the patch for less than 24 hours after general anesthesia. I woke up in the middle of the night with my neck and the left side of my face swollen. When I pulled the patch off, I started throwing up. I now get motion sickness in the car. It's a week later, and my neck is still swollen, and I still have motion sickness (which I never had before). It's very painful. I should have taken the patch off sooner. I am 5'2" and 130 lbs. It might have been too strong."

For Nausea/Vomiting "The best thing ever, not once nauseous or sick. Wore for 4 days. Had a total hip replacement and have always been sick after all my surgeries, and not once had anyone offered me this, but my awesome Dr. Miller and his awesome nurse practitioner, Darla, took care of me like I was famous. Thank you, and the best care I have ever had."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Went in November to have my nose put back in place as it was broken. They applied a patch to me and other meds before, during, and after, and I still got sick. Woke up the next morning with my heart skipping beats and racing. I called their center, they convinced me I'm dehydrated. As I am no longer puking, I remove the patch and drink water at the same time. Don't think anything of it. In February, I went under to get my meniscus fixed and an ACL put in my right knee. Patch goes on, into surgery I go. I wake up disoriented, with nurses and doctors yelling in my face that I have to wake up. I become slightly coherent and notice I have nurses all over my body trying to find a better IV site (had 18 pokes-very hard to find my veins) to administer drugs because my heart was in AFIB, going about 185 beats and skipping. They try several drugs, 15 more people enter the room, the cardiologist and his team are called down, and the crash cart is paged to my recovery room. They JUST managed to find a drug that took my heart down to 120-135 beats seconds before they were going to administer the paddles. Several hours later, in the hospital room (I had to stay), I managed to connect the dots and talked to the anesthesiologist. I take off the patch, and within 5-10 minutes, my heart went down from a stable minimum of 120 beats to 85. I had to receive three heart ultrasounds, two EKGs, and wear a heart monitor for two weeks under the care of the cardiologist that I had to see for a month and a half."
