For Restless Legs Syndrome "Have suffered with restless legs syndrome for years. This medication allowed my legs to relax enough that I can get to sleep. Negative effects are nausea and that it can take up to an hour to set in. Nausea can be controlled by dosage. Sometimes it has no effect and I have to wait an hour to take another one. My wife has also noticed after a few hours it wears off and I'm tossing and turning in my sleep again. It works but I'm looking for something that works better."

Ropinirole for Periodic Limb Movement Disorder "It did reduce my tremors the first day. However, it made me a little nauseous. I would have to lay down because of the drowsiness. It put me in a depressed mood. I will only take it on occasion for disabling tremor episodes. Because the side effects prevent me from being active, I don't consider this treatment a success."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I had an injury that caused me to be on opiates for a long time (7 years). When I came off the opiates, I found the biggest problem is not the pain, it is the RLS I now suffer from. Before he would prescribe me anything, my doctor told me to try quinine. So I did. I was never so sick in my life. When I went back to him, he finally prescribed ropinirole. At the very beginning, I had some nausea, but that passed quickly. I have, over the past 8 years, upped my dosage to 4 mg at night, but it is no longer covering me. So I end up taking a half during the day and then run out of meds too early. I'm planning on speaking to my doctor about different options now. I am afraid one day nothing will work, and then I will be in hell on earth. I do love my ropinirole though!"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I'm a 70-year-old man in decent health. I've suffered from RLS for at least 20 years. It's miserable, and I never know when it's going to hit until I go to bed. The doctor put me on 0.25 mg of ropinirole nightly. I took the first dose, and it knocked me out. I woke up nauseous, disoriented, 'spaced out,' woozy, and on and on. I didn't dare drive. I felt this way all day. I cut the dose in half the next two nights, slept hard but woke up feeling almost as bad as with the full dose. I quit after that and trashed those pills. Not good for me! This was a week ago. Also, I hadn't smoked in twenty years and suddenly developed an intense craving for cigarettes. I don't know if that's related, but it is odd. Guess I'll try something else."

Ropinirole for Periodic Limb Movement Disorder "I was given this med for RLS/PLM. This medication kept me up most of the night with a bucket to vomit into. Hummm.... Which to choose, RLS/PLM vs. severe nausea/vomiting?"

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I wish I had better news, but I took this in low doses initially and did okay, though my RLS still plagued me. Once I titrated to 100 mg, my legs were okay, but I became violently ill. I'd vomit one hour after taking Requip. I tried going to a lower dose, but I guess I developed a sensitivity and either vomited or felt incredibly nauseated all day."
