"I had a PE in 2017 and was on Xarelto for 6 months. In that time, the main side effect I felt was body aches. Now, in 2022, I was on them again for another 6 months for a clot in my right leg but stopped a month early due to the terrible side effects and good test results. I'm never taking this stuff again. I had to go to the ER for internal bleeding twice, dizzy, dry skin, hair loss, lack of appetite, weight gain, crippling anxiety, headache, enlarged spleen, kidney pain, confusion, all kinds of GI issues. I've been off for one week and am feeling better every day but still have some less severe symptoms. I'm taking turmeric and bromelain now, which both are proven blood thinners, and bromelain can actually dissolve clots. I would suggest people look for a natural alternative if possible. That said, the drug did clear my first PE pretty fast, along with a clot buster injection in the stomach. Trust your own gut on these issues, my choices are my own."

"Got diagnosed with PE after a cat scan and have been taking this med for 2 weeks. The only side effects that bother me are the very aching back, it never goes away. Tylenol does help a bit. Also, my right arm at the bicep is like I overdid it in the gym, I have issues lifting my arm up above my shoulder. Another week to go, then I’m down to one pill per day. My breathing does seem a bit better and I don’t get the shortness of breath as often, but it is a small challenge. Can’t wait for it all to go away."

Rivaroxaban "I’m very happy with Xarelto. I only got sick for a week after starting, now I feel fine, no shortness of breath or any discomforts. I was diagnosed with PE on the 19th of October 2024, and I’m slowly getting back to my normal self. Just minor anxiety attacks, but my doctor prescribed something for me to manage it."

Rivaroxaban "Started on Xarelto 10 mg in 12/2023. Tolerated well. Dose increased to 20 mg once daily after 1 month. I read that side effects were insomnia and fatigue. I worked for years on the night shift because of insomnia, so I really didn't notice. Fatigue increased, and I needed a nap during the day. Sometimes I do fall asleep, and other times, I lie there and rest the body. Not a bad thing. I'm retired, so napping doesn't interfere with my life. The huge plus of Xarelto is that it does not require regular blood tests."

Rivaroxaban "This stuff was covered by insurance, good thing at ten bucks a day/pill. I began having nightmares nightly on these pills. Every night was a horror movie. Then around the third month, I awakened one morning with every joint in extreme pain. I got the pills, and both the nightmares and pain diminished to zero. I altered my diet to zero processed and factory foods, and everything no more clots."

Rivaroxaban "Have a pulmonary embolism, been on Xarelto since January 27, 2013. No problems, make sure you have your doctors do a creatinine test to adjust your Xarelto. God bless."

"The drug works well. But the only side effect I have from it is severe leg pain, almost to where it goes numb and tingles. I wish the leg pain wasn't so much of a side effect of it."

Rivaroxaban "For me, it is not that bad. I am experiencing tingling in my legs. I had a fast heartbeat, but now I am not experiencing that. I can eat anything, no restrictions. I love Xarelto. I was afflicted with PE (a small clot on my lung) with no known causes, and they prescribed Xarelto for 6 months. I can walk 2 hours non-stop. I try to stay away from grapefruit."
