For Constipation "I was having stool that had a ribbon-like form. I had begun to miss several days of having a bowel movement, which was unusual for me. My gastroenterologist suggested Metamucil. Thank God I'd read a review saying the person's blood would elevate when taking Metamucil. I was desperate and had read that Metamucil could actually lower your blood pressure. I have high blood pressure that's usually pretty controlled with medication. My blood pressure began to increase each day I took Metamucil. Now it's way out of control. Unfortunately, I will need to stop using it. It also gives me really bad gas. It's hard to lie down and sleep. I also have really bad acid reflux while taking it. I suggest anyone with high blood pressure to be very cautious when taking Metamucil."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Metamucil helps me so much for IBS. I haven’t felt this good in many months. Overall, gas, IBS, and even stomach pains are reduced to almost none. I’ve had IBS for a couple of years now, and after just a few days of taking this every other day, I feel great!!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I have IBS, started having large bowel motions followed by diarrhea and cramping. Started on 1 packet of Metamucil daily. Started having cramping, a lot of sticky, overly soft stools, a lot of gas and discomfort."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I had the worst diarrhea for over two years and complete bowel incontinence for twenty-five years. I was prescribed cholestyramine but could not get myself to take this plastic resin powder. I did some research and saw a small similarity with Metamucil, so I tried it. That was more than a month ago. It changed my life, no more cramps, bloating, gas, diarrhea, no more complete poop accidents in public. I wake up, move my bowel perfectly normal, and I am good to go all day. I am beyond grateful. I take 2 teaspoons of powder a day every day. Please give it a try."

For Constipation "After months of constipation, 1 on the Bristol scale, my doc gave me Metamucil, unflavored. I take one tablespoon with water. At first, it tasted terrible like cardboard, and I had gas, bloating. However, within 1 day I had normal BM, 4 on the Bristol scale. And I feel 10 times better, my energy is back, and moods are much better. Over time the gas and bloating are gone, and I've gotten used to the taste, now it tastes like chocolate milk. Definitely the best laxative I've ever used."

"All my life I have had gas, indigestion, constipation, then diarrhea. Also, the pain in my stomach would be unbearable. I took all over-the-counter and doctor medication, had stomach scans, everything the doctor would suggest, but with no regular relief. My new doctor recommended Metamucil, I've never felt better. I have at least two BMs a day. All constant big, fluffy stools. No gas, no bloating, no nausea, it's all regular, and I feel wonderful. Wish I had tried this years ago. I feel great. I stir it in cold water and quickly drink it so it doesn't get thick, the taste is great, and it's sugar-free. Thank you, Metamucil."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "IBS-D for 3 years. Fast onset. Breath test confirmed, bad methane and other gases. Finally got Xifaxin x2 - didn't seem to help much. Enzymes didn't seem to help but keep taking them as I do Betaine HCL. Getting a bit better. GI finally said generic psyllium powder/Metamucil and I started with 1 tbsp a day. Too much gas but other symptoms started to lessen. Worked down to 1 tsp a day with water in the morning...and after 3 months, I feel normal again. A miracle. I also take 1 psyllium capsule with lunch and dinner. I have started to put 'gassy' fiber like beans back in my diet. No problems! A miracle. My suggestion is take it no matter what.....I use 1 cup of water. I have my life back."
