"I thought it was fine. I'm surprised it has some bad reviews! The directions said to use lukewarm water, but they also said to drink it cold. I put about 32 oz of lukewarm water in, shook it vigorously, and then added cold water for the rest. Then you put it in the refrigerator. My doctor's office suggested preparing it a few hours in advance so that it can chill. You're supposed to shake it every time you drink it. I used the lemon flavor packet that came with it. The taste was not so bad. I didn't have any horrible side effects. The only strange thing is that it made me feel cold. Our house is always set to 77°F in the summer, and I kept saying to my daughter, 'It's freezing in here.'"

"This GaviLyte-G drink is horrible, and I’ve had my share of horrible-tasting medicine. Even when I hold my nose, I can still feel the salty tingle on my tongue as I drank this. The thickness is what makes it worse. Thicker than water but not as thick as milk. I honestly would have preferred to fast for an entire week than drink this stuff. I am not able to stomach the second half of the dose, and I’m choosing not to torture myself even though it will affect my procedure."

"Preparing for a colonoscopy is not a pleasant thing. However, the experience I had with GaviLyte-G was acceptable. I pre-prepared the solution in the morning with added lemon flavor and placed it in the refrigerator. As per my doctor's direction, I took 2 Dulcolax at 2PM, then drank half the solution between 4 & 6PM. At 6PM, I took 2 more Dulcolax and drank the other half between 2 & 4AM. Based on the cleanliness of my colon, I would give GaviLyte-G a 10. It's not easy to drink; however, necessary if you want to have a successful procedure."

"Overall, it worked well. I detest the chemical taste of artificial sweeteners, and this has a saccharine sweetened lemon flavor packet. I skipped the packet and made a simple syrup with 1/3 cup of sugar in about 1/2 cup of water (which is approximately 1/2 teaspoon per cup) and squeezed a lemon, adding both to the mix as part of the water until it was palatable. I ended up using less sugar than I prepared. It tasted like a slightly salty weak lemonade. The GaviLyte had some hard clumps among the granules which I broke up before mixing. Make sure you shake the mix well. The product worked well, but the volume was ridiculously high-12 cups plus about 4 more in the morning. I could barely physically hold 12 cups. It took about 3 hours before I felt it was safe to go to sleep. The second round in the morning finished off the job early enough to feel reasonably safe to drive an hour. It did raise my blood pressure, which is usually in the normal range. I checked it because I felt a little dizzy."

"This stuff isn’t bad. Mixed it with a lemon twist and pounded a glass every 15 minutes. Worked great."

"Wretched experience, never want to do this procedure again or take this horrid medicine. Anybody that says this is okay is lying."

"Used GaviLyte-G as a prep for colonoscopy. Taste better than Colyte and it does the job. I would specify prescribing GaviLyte-G for my next colonoscopy/endoscopy."
