Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "I have a lot of skincare allergies that manifest as perioral dermatitis. For years it cleared up after stopping use of what was triggering it. Two years ago it became chronic and not a day went by that I didn't have at least one or two of those annoying bumps, but often more like 10-20 and persistent redness. After being misdiagnosed as folliculitis and rosacea, I found a derm that got it right and was prescribed Elidel because I had already tried and had no success with all of the typical treatments. Elidel was able to completely clear up the rash in less than a week and has continued to keep me clear for weeks now. I did experience a mild warming feeling that went away after a few applications. So happy to finally have some relief."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "Since having to wear face masks occasionally when I leave the house I have had contact Dermatitis with a swollen sore red face - about 8 weeks. At times my skin was weeping, it was so swollen. Originally diagnosed as hayfever - I had tried other medications. Within 24 hours of using Elidel - my face started repairing. Now into day 3 it is almost back to normal."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "I have used Elidel for 6 months for perioral dermatitis. As soon as I stop, I get red patches with burning bumps. Before that I used Fucidin, but that just made all the symptoms worse. After that Rozex which was drying my skin too much and then used Elidel. At first it seemed to be helping but not anymore. I am on my first week of 30 day antibiotics cure, sill no results, but I guess it's too early to see anyway."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "My dermatologist prescribed me this as I have redness on my face. I have used it nightly for ~6 months now. I can’t say it worked well, maybe there was a little improvement but its debatable. I stopped for a few days after 2-3months and my face developed a red, raised and itchy rash. I’ve never had that before on my face so I was horrified. My dermatologist then prescribed Advantan cream for 3 days, antibiotics for 2 weeks (in place of oratane which I was taking) and cetaphil wash and cream. It worked. She then made me continue with Elidel. I stopped again after 2-3months for a few days and the rash is back again. So I can say for sure that this rash is due to stopping Elidel. I believe this is Elidel withdrawal and more research needs to be done on this as I see here that I’m not the only one. I’m not sure how long this rash is going to last. Before using Elidel, I have never had such a rash on my face before."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "I've suffered from eczema since childhood and Elidel completely eradicated the severe eczema lesions behind my knees. While I still have a few spots that pop up during the winter, Elidel keeps it controlled. Very effective cream, just very pricey."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I suffer with severe atopic dermatitis. I went to several dermatologist before they could figure out my condition. I tried several creams and ointments but they all burned and made the skin red and swollen. Then it would all flake away n become inflammed again. In 5 days of using elidel my skin is clearer than it's been in months! It doesn't burn going on the skin (I keep it in the fridge) n it feels smooth going on. Definitely apply a moisturizer after application. Elidel has been a God send!! I hope it works for everyone else. Elidel is very expensive."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Sudden attacks of agonizing atopic dermatitis that resisted all cortisone creams. My dermatologist prescribed Elidel and it worked! No side effects except my great delight and relief. Now, as another attack has arrived, I paid the outrageous price for a tube, but THAT side effect is small due to its efficacy."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) "I was given this medicine by my physician for less than a pea size dry patch. It burned my skin severely, causing it to become discolored. It burned my skin, making it become more dry and cracked. Over the years, my symptoms have gotten progressively worse. I may have Crohn's now, and I get a bunch swollen lymph nodes. My hands are now crippled, and I have to pry them apart. This cream have weakened my immune system as well. I am very weak at times. I feel helpless, because I couldn't do things for my girls. I tried reaching the company, and all they had to say was...keep us informed. I sent pictures and everything. I reached back out to get no response."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "After battling facial eczema for over five years, which of course makes one agoraphophic and unwilling to go out to a supermarket, let alone a pub or a nightclub, and with no respite from two different dermatologists in Brussels, I tried Elidel after my Mum sent me a newspaper cutting about a British model who was suffering from eczema and had tried it with successful results. Overnight (!) the redness went away. It hasn't gotten rid of the eczema completely and I still have to use it when I feel a flare-up coming. Elidel changed my life: my facial skin is a "regular" color now (maybe just fractionally too red but only fractionally and nobody would ever comment on it) and I once again go out to pubs and nightclubs in Belgium. 5/5 stars."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "After discovering the cost of the medication, I asked my physician if I could get a sample before buying it. The pharmaceutical company would not send samples. That should have been an indication that it might not be effective. I finally purchased the prescription of 30 g for $250. I have not found the product to be very effective. It makes the area applied to very dry which leads to the skin cracking. Vaseline works as well as the Elidel at a fraction of the cost."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I have seborrheic dermatitis and was prescribed hydrocortisone by my GP at first because he wasn't sure what it was (which did help but it's steroid-based). He referred me to a dermatologist who identified what it really was and he prescribed me Elidel. I did my research on what Elidel is like and I was aware that it's been 'possibly' linked to skin cancer and lymphoma with prolonged use. I used Elidel twice a day for three days and my symptoms have completely disappeared. I'm quite aware that I have the condition for life and I'm expecting the symptoms to return, in which case I'll reuse Elidel for a couple of days. For me personally, 100% successful with no side effects whatsoever. But I do not use it every day, only when necessary. It's also probably worth noting that I have a very mild form of seborrheic dermatitis (i.e., red flushing of the face, neck, and chest). I now look normal again and it's given me my confidence back to be seen out in public once more."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "About five years ago, both my cheeks were covered in weeping, chapped, burning and itchy patches. It was so bad that I could actually wipe my hand across my cheek in the shower and the skin would come off. Steroids helped, but not at all enough. Elidel gave me my face and my confidence back. It took time, but it worked with little side effects-- for me, my nose runs and my sinuses burn. Now, my eczema has come back, and I'm back on the Elidel, and it's working like a charm already. It's outrageously expensive, however. It was 480 dollars with insurance, which I got down to 180 with a coupon. Due to the price, I would recommend exploring more affordable options before resorting to Elidel. You never know what will or won't work for you."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I was getting persistent breakouts (atopic dermatitis) on my face especially after shaving. I first began using prescription strength hydrocortisone cream and other steroid creams, but after a while they lost their effectiveness and began making my skin worse. And it caused thinning of my skin. I eventually started using Elidel and my skin significantly improved right away. Elidel caused no adverse reactions. I barely need to use Elidel anymore. Elidel was initially not covered by my insurance. However, my dermatologist was able to obtain prior authorization by submitting records showing that steroid creams did not work."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Elidel, used in conjunction with applying nizoral shampoo on my face for 7 mins every day (as directed by dermatologist - apply twice a week after 7 days), has almost completely cleared the dermatitis on my face & neck within a week. I now look normal and feel like I might finally have my life back again after years of struggling with steroid creams that eventually stopped working & more recently being off work & not leaving the house due to looking like a leper! No burning or stinging for me. Long may this phase continue"

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Unfortunately I am a large breasted woman, breast fed three sons so its no wonder under my breasts became sensitive when I reached my 40s. My primary doctor gave me creams and eventually steroid cream, which also thinned my skin as well (I see others had the same issue) dermatologist gave me Zeasorb powder which strangely enough is sold for athletes foot and then the Elides cream which was 30 bucks for a small tube! However after using it for a week rash is completely gone for the first time in over three years. Next time Ill go right to the dermatologist for skin issues. I had no side effects."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I am horrified by this cream, I developed a rash on my face all around my eyes from a paint allergy and the doctor gave me this cream. I used it once lightly and an hour later my entire face was burning and eyes were watering non stop. I woke up the next day and my eyes were all swollen and irritated. Rash symptoms were gone but face was now red and swollen. The day after my eyes were still swollen and I can see a red mark on my face that outlines where I had put the cream. I look worse than when I actually had the rash. I am horrified that this is a genuine normal side effect of this cream. Please be careful, I will never ever touch this stuff again."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "If you use Elidel to ward off flare ups and keep them controlled until they go away (which they do) then back off on the application until you need it again then this produces the best results. I would never apply this daily unless I had the rash. Once the rash is gone I stop application until another flare up."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Dermatologist prescribed Elidel for facial itching, burning, redness plus swelling, dryness, cold sore, especially serious scaling around mouth & on lips. I have had all kinds of skin cancer on face, legs & chest, plus a melanoma on thigh. When I read the side effects on your site & others, I chose not to use Elidel. It was too risky for me. I am an 81-yr-young female. Due to the extreme burning of most of my face, I rubbed it with ICE CUBES which gave me awesome relief, enabled me to sleep without itching & scratching. Outbreak cleared up within 2 weeks."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "MAGIC for me.... A few weeks back I noticed a red itchy rash, small raised bumps that would burn with any topical I put on it. It spread around my forehead, chin, jaw, cheeks. The bumps were not clogged pores, more itchy, inflamed, blistery, flesh-colored with redness in the area. I was having an allergic reaction to recently switching to fluoride toothpaste (mask-wearing exacerbated the issue). I stopped using the paste immediately and saw some clearing up occur except for in very stubborn areas that kept flaring. My derm was amazing and diagnosed this as PD and prescribed Elidel. Within 4 days of using this 2 x a day, my symptoms had completely cleared. Stay away from the sun and drinks!! Each person is different, depending on what your situation is, if you know your triggers and have eliminated them, this may be an answer to help clear your skin and returning it to calm fast."
