Reviews for Phendimetrazine

Best Weight Loss Pill January 17, 2011

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine): "I have been on Bontril since December 28th 2010. I am pleased to say that I have lost 7 pounds the first week and 6 pounds the second week and tomorrow will be 3 weeks and I have lost 3 this week. In total I have lost 16 pounds so far. I have experienced the dry mouth, suppressed appetite, and headaches. However, none of them bad enough to make me stop yet. When I look in the mirror I am so pleased. I started out at 171 pounds and now am at 155 pounds. Everyday I am excited to see what my scale says once I get up. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to lose weight. LOTS of WATER will make you feel full so it is very much needed. I haven't been able to exercise yet due to an injury in back."

"Please read my entire review as I feel it is beneficial to anyone using or considering this medicine. I am a 30 year old male and 6 weeks ago I weighed 204 lbs. I have taken Phendimetrazine 35mg 3 times a day for 6 weeks now. I have dropped almost 40 lbs and look and feel the best ever. I exercise 30 minutes a day -nothing major, just a light jog. I eat 4 small meals which are: soy products (boca burgers, veggie dogs etc), eggs, fish, seafood, dark veggies and cheese strings. (Eating meat will cause MAJOR constipation). I don't drink alcohol or soda. It's really easy. "

"I have taken Bontril on and off for 5 years now. A year on, a year off. I would actually get up to one 105 mg a day, plus 3-35mg tabs each day. I am 49 years old. I have always had very good blood pressure/even a little on the low side. My last experience with Bontril has not been good. My blood pressure has shot up to 152/104.....when I would have 110/70 readings. I have tried to cut back on the dosage to no avail. I will have to go off it completely. I'm disappointed, because I do think it is a great medicine to manage your weight. I guess the moral to this story is you eventually will reach a point where your body can no longer tolerate it. I Guess Weight Watchers is my next step."

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine): "I've been taking Bontril SR (105 mg) for 30 days. The 1st week I lost 7lbs and the 2nd week I lost 3 lbs and none since. The 1st week I had tons of energy and a significant decrease in appetite. The 2nd week my appetite started to come back and the energy was gone. I now have almost the same appetite as before, although I do get full a little quicker. Went to Doctor today to get refill. Going to try 1 more month. I did follow the 1200 calorie diet and drank lots of water the 1st 2 weeks. It is hard to restrict calories now that the hunger is back. As far as side effects, I did experience headaches, insomnia and dry mouth for a few days, but that has gone away. I was also irritable that 1st week. Now the only side effect is dizziness if I don't drink enough water."

"I am female 48 years old, healthy except for being over weight. I have tried every diet possible with little success. Been the the doctor and my thyroid is working well. I was working out 5 days a week (P90X lost inches but no weight) and still with little to show for all my hard work. I started 1 1/2 weeks ago on 105mg and lost 8 lbs. I am eating approximately 100 calories for breakfast, <300 cal frozen diner and a banana for lunch and at dinner I am eating half the amount that I usually eat. My plan is part doctor prescribed and part learning portion control. My problem is not quality of food but quantity. I have heard that your brain gets used to the medicine and should take a week off every 2 weeks. I start exercising next week."

"I have been taking this medication for a week now. I had very high hopes after reading all the other reviews. I am taking it every morning, and so far no weight loss at all. Although, I haven't had luck on any of the other medicines for weight loss either. "

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine): "I was prescribed Bontril SR 105mg 9/8/10 I weighed 178lbs. I weighed myself for work I was @ 167lbs. I haven't weighed myself since but I can feel it in my clothes week by week and can see it in my face. I just began working out to increase my weight loss so hopefully I'll be 30lbs lighter in 2 months. The one thing I love about this pill is that I have to force myself to eat, which makes me aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. When I want to eat I can't because I always feel full. The bad thing is if I forget to take it. I want to eat everything in sight. Good luck to you all."

"Years ago I took Phendimetrazine 105 mg at 10 am and 35 mg. at 3:00. I lost 15 lbs the first week and 10 lbs the following week. I thought I didn't have to exercise and I sometimes would forget to take it. I also thought I didn't have to eat - the less I ate the more weight I would lose. So by the 3rd month, I wasn't losing it as quickly as I thought I should so I eventually quit taking it. I have decided to go back on it and started today. The weightloss doctor told me not to eat sugar or fried foods, keep my calories at 1,200 a day, eat 3 meals a day and exercise 3 times a week and it's okay to splurge and eat one big meal a week. I'm going to try to stick to it this time!"

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine): "I have only used this medication once and it was amazing for controlling my appetite, even better than phentermine. However, I have migraines and am being treated for them with Topamax. I had a mild headache before taking the Bontril and after taking the Bontril the headache only got worse throughout the day. My energy and mood was terrific, appetite was suppressed. I had total control of what I ate all day and night. When night came, I was in terrible pain with my migraine. None of my usual rescue medicines worked (Imitrex). I was getting nervous, come bedtime, I was restless, could not sleep, had a terrible migraine all night long, like the Bontril wouldn't wear off. I almost went to urgent care for my head since Imitrex was not working."

"My starting weight was 213 - three days later I'm at 208. I take 35mg a day. Supposed to take 2 a day but want to wait to see how I react to the medicine. So far I feel okay. I get thirsty a lot and have trouble sleeping but other than that I'm okay."

"Lost 23 lbs in the first week. Kind of crazy. Then 12-15 every week after. This was in addition to a strict diet and cardio. Went from 357lbs to 230lbs. I am a larger man (6'3")and was told that 230 was a good weight for me by numerous doctors. Hopefully it will stay off!"

Bontril PDM (phendimetrazine): "I ave used Bontril for about 2 weeks right now and WOW! I went by the diet that my wonderful Doctor gave me and even without exercise I have already lost 23-25 pounds! I am severely overweight so I know these results aren't typical but when you weigh over 300 pounds every little bit makes a big difference! The only major side effect I have had is a few heart tremors. Once you get in the mind set that you don't need a snack cake or pastry in your mouth every few minutes then you can feel good not only about your weight loss but also about the great choices you are making!"

"I went to a diet clinic today and my doctorr put me on phendimetrazine 105mg. I take it at 10 am then at 3 pm I take the 35mg phendimetrazine. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I take hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg (water pill). I weighed 235lbs, BIGGEST I'VE EVER BEEN, when I started my job in February. This morning when I took my 1st pill it didn't take very long at all to kick in! I had a headache this evening but I lay down and took a 30 minute nap and it went away! So far so good. Only bad thing is I have to work tomorrow and it's 2:26 am already."

"Ok, I hit my one month mark as of today, I have lost 10 pounds, with very little effort. This medication is amazing. I am still not having any negative side effects, and my cravings and hunger are a thing of the past. This stuff is great! I am at 163.5lbs now, so I have about 30 more pounds to go, hopefully I can keep the 10 pounds a month fade going, then I can get off the medicine and continue eating healthy small meals. I hope everyone is having the same success! Best of luck."

"Today is my first day taking phendimetrazine 35 mg. I was taking phentermine 37.5 mg before, phentermine helped me lose 15 pounds in less than a month but then it stopped helping suppress my appetite so the doctor told me to take phendimetrazine along with the phentermine. So I am supposed to take 1 pill of phentermine in the morning before noon and then take phendimetrazine in the afternoon around 4 or 5 p.m. I haven't had any food cravings as of yet. I do feel very energetic. I had a headache earlier in the day but that was because I hadn't eaten anything. "

"This is actually my first week on this medicine, and I love it already. It really does give you tons of energy. I am on a very strict diet from a weight management doctor and I am doing awesome! I would recommend this medicine to anyone. Another major thing is that you don't particularly care to eat. I am eating only protein this first week- 10 oz. a day- that's it. Believe it or not I can not even eat 10 oz even though I try. It does work well!"

"I started take this medication on 4/6/10 and have so far as of today have lost 10 lbs...I love it. For the first time I did experience the heart palpitations, which scared me a little bit. The next day they were gone. I would recommend this medication to anyone. My goal is to lose 50lbs and I will agree my focus is great and I have not experienced any jitters or problems falling asleep. My doctor has me taking the medicines on a time schedule, which is at 1pm, then 4pm and last at 7pm with a B12 shot every 2 weeks. I have experienced dry mouth but I just upped my water intake since I am not a big fan of water. I do not eat any high calorie foods at all. I only eat chicken breast (deli) about 3 slices with some veges and have water."

"I have been taking Bontril for 3 months and have lost over 17 pounds, which is only 3 pounds from my goal. The only side effects I have felt is some constipation and a slight increase in headaches. I'm starting to wean myself off of the pills now and have found no increase in my appetite. This medication worked great for me!"

"Day one on this medication....had taken phentermine before, gotten to goal weight, then thought I could maintain on my own, with exercise etc. Had some winter weight gain and getting started again. My doctor asked if I wanted to try something new. At first made me a little light headed, but better as the day went on. Problem is now, I have to be up in a couple of hours and can't go to sleep!..Hoping this goes away soon. Tomorrow will take it a little earlier in the day."

Bontril PDM (phendimetrazine): "I have been using bontril for 7.5 weeks with only a 6lb weight loss following a great diet of protein, fruits, and vegetables. I just phoned my physician's office and informed them that I plan on taking myself off of the medication secondary to severe constipation, headaches, insomnia, fatigue, and frequent urination. I have been off the medication for 5 days and feel so much better. I didn't realize the potential cardiac complications until today. Oh well, live and learn! Good luck to all!!"

"I have been taking them for a little over two months and I have lost 30 pounds. It works great for me. I have also been on a simple diet and overall I rate it great. I got my mom and aunt to go and get their prescription and they have lost weight too. I'm so happy with phendimetrazine."

"I have been on and off of phendimetrizine 35 mg for three years. The first 2 months I ever took them I lost 50 pounds. Until the past year I had a great experience with it... although I would yo-yo if I came off the pills and diet, they were extremely effective while doing it correctly. I would STRONGLY recommend never combining the pills with alcohol, too much caffeine, or cigarettes. The last year has actually driven me to be very hesitant to use the medicine. I am truly nervous of having a heart attack. I became very nervous, anxious, experienced high blood pressure, and heart palpitations. It's scary. Just be very careful because you will eventually think you need these pills to lose weight, and that is terrible. Be careful!"
