"I'm unsure why this medication is prescribed. I wasn't warned about any of the side effects. I went to a clinic with moderate flu symptoms and was prescribed this and began taking it. After the third dose, I began vomiting uncontrollably and cannot keep anything down. I don't have an appetite, and I feel extremely nauseous, dizzy, and have a headache. I also have mental health conditions, which is why I find it very concerning that I was prescribed a medication that can cause suicide."

"Amazing how fast it worked. Flu came on surprisingly swift from relatively good to being miserable in a few hours. Started Tamiflu later the same day. I suffered from the classic flu symptoms for the rest of the day and through most of the night, but awoke with all chills and aches and pains gone. With each pill, you can pretty much feel the symptoms wanting to restart at the dose point of 10-12 hr. I'm on day 3 currently and am symptom-free, but realize the flu virus has two to five more days of working through me. Truly impressed."

"It was three days before Christmas 2010, and my husband and I were out and about shopping in the malls and stores for Christmas gifts. It just came on him really fast: ache, shakes and sweat, fever of 104.7, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching everywhere, stuffy head. So bad that he was out for the count, and we thought we would not get to go anywhere for Christmas. Well, then to top it off, my son, who is 14, got sick too. So I was working, taking care of them, and you guessed it, got sick too! We all went to the doctor and got Tamiflu, and wow!!! Miracle medicine. Would love to kiss the person who found this! We were coming out of it the first day we all took it. The best 1-10, it a 100! Thanks so very much for not being sick anymore."

"Once I started taking this medication, I felt nauseous an hour after the first dose. After completing the third dose the next day, I began vomiting until my stomach was completely empty. Taking the fourth dose, I became nauseous again and made the decision not to take it anymore. Worst feeling ever, I dreaded having to take each dose. Made me feel terrible, and the nausea was unbearable and ruined any appetite I had. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!"

"Diagnosed with influenza recently, my doctor prescribed Tamiflu. Believe me, this was feeling like you had been 'hit by a Mack truck' flu, have never felt so ill with so much body pain everywhere. Slept virtually all day for 3 days straight, then the Tamiflu kicked in. Seriously, with zero side effects! Now day 4, and I'm off the painkillers and actually feeling quite good. Still going to finish off the prescribed dosage of tablets, but have to say the results are amazing. Yesterday, I wouldn't have had the strength to write this. Amazing."

"I was in bed, aches, chills, 102 fever, dizzy, all the good stuff that comes with the flu-just miserable. I tested positive for the flu and took my first dose that evening. Within a day and a half, I feel so much better. I still have some symptoms, but I don't feel like I'm knocking at death's door."

"After struggling with the flu for several days, I began taking Tamiflu. After 4 hours, I began to feel slightly better. Within 24 hours, I was up and feeling great. This is the second time taking Tamiflu. The first time was in 2009 when I contracted the N2H1 virus. I highly recommend this drug for flu symptoms."

"I discovered an effective flu reliever in Tamiflu. I was at work and about to go home because my body felt heavy, my joints were quite aching, and my body temperature was hotter than usual. There seemed to be a flu attack going around our workplace because the staff were getting it one after the other. So I decided to see the GP and I’m diagnosed with Influenza A. Tamiflu was prescribed for twice a day. I took it, and it was definitely less than 8 hours before the onset of symptoms. I experienced fever, chills, and headache symptoms, but improved immediately. The good effects of Tamiflu. The next day, I was well and good and took my bath as I do every morning. Indeed, Tamiflu was very effective, and it did not give me any bad side effects at all."

"Co-worker was diagnosed with the flu. Forty-eight hours later, I had fever, headache, joint aches, and cough, and went to the doctor. Nasal smear confirmed strain A. Within twenty-four hours of starting Tamiflu, symptoms were better. Three days after starting Tamiflu, feeling much better with no fever or headache. Still have cough, but getting better. First time I have taken this medicine. But it made me a believer!"

"I work with children, so I get the occasional cold, but this time it wouldn’t remit with the normal over-the-counter stuff, so three days ago, off I go to Urgent Care. The doc gave me Tamiflu. Day one, liquids and just in bed, no energy, almost no food. Day two, chills, sweats, no energy. Day three, I’m feeling worse: chills, sweats. Now I’m visiting the Oval Office (bathroom) every 20-45 minutes: diarrhea/nausea, so you cough and, well, you throw up. I can’t sleep, I’m tired, it’s 4:30 a.m., and if I close my eyes, I have nightmares in a semi-sleep. Irritability or plain anxiety... okay, that’s where I stop. I started reading about Tamiflu, this drug is no joke, it’s strong, and side effects are real. Now I wonder how long before I flush this out of my system. For me, it helped with symptoms, but the side effects are WAY STRONG. Cost of doctor visit + meds: $300! And now I feel worse..."

"Started with chills and an achy body. Temperature peaked at 101.7. Went to the doctor and was given Tamiflu. After two doses, my temperature had gone back to normal. I did feel nauseous after the first dose and took Zofran to relieve the nausea. Fever did return, but only a little over 100. After four doses, no fever and feel pretty normal. Mind you, I did get the flu shot as I do every year. This is the first time in 30 years that I have gotten the flu!"

"Do your research on this drug. I am thoroughly convinced that many of these high ratings are not real consumers of the product. I was prescribed Tamiflu to avoid further flu complications (I’m pregnant). Within an hour of taking one pill, I was vomiting every half hour. I got diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. It would have been safer to have not taken the drug. In fact, my stomach pain was so bad, I considered going to the ER. I’m taking the time to write this in hopes I can save at least one other person from my experience. There is no scientific evidence this drug is effective, and the original trials were never fully released by the creators of the drug (for a reason)."

"Going on day 3, and from the 1st dose, I have had abdominal pain!! Heartburn on fire, slight strange headache, cough. Stopping this stuff as not worth it! Should have known, but I thought I would try it. Never again."

"If your flu symptoms are bad enough that you feel like it is the end, then this medicine is a godsend. But the side effects really do suck. I had a ton of sinus pressure, sneezing, body aches, and delirium from fever before I took this. These symptoms went from a 10 to a 5 overnight thanks to Tamiflu, but now I have nausea and headaches to deal with. The nausea especially is really bad. If your flu symptoms are mild, I would keep this in mind."

"I went from fine to congested to full-on fever/chills/vomiting/cough in 24 hours. Got tested at urgent care right away (Type A influenza), was prescribed Tamiflu and an anti-nausea med to take with it, and was dosed within a day of my first symptoms. By the next morning, after two doses, I felt human again. I'm on Day 3 now and the fever and chills are gone. Still have a little digestive upset, but the vomiting is long gone. I feel like I'm in the final stages of a head cold. It has been amazing. I understand the secret is to start taking it as soon as possible after symptoms start. Probably helps, too, that I had a flu shot. I would definitely use this again."

"My flu came on hard and fast 4 days ago. Woke up with a tickle in my throat, and by noon, I had a barking cough and 102 fever. In my opinion, all the Tamiflu has done at this point is hasten the rate of dehydration that I'm already experiencing. I can't believe I paid $135 to make myself feel even worse. I still feel like I was hit by a truck, feeling like there is no end in sight for this nasty bug."

"Starting to feel bad on Sunday, went to my doctor. On Monday, she said I had the flu, so I started Tamiflu. It seems to have helped me a lot and pretty quickly. I just have had a terrible headache for 2 days and diarrhea. Other than that, it's been great. Just can't handle this headache."

"Tested positive for influenza via nasal swab on 2nd day of symptoms. Noticed significant improvements: fever gone within 24 hours, body aches gone, headache gone, extreme fatigue gone, nausea gone. Left with what feels like a minor respiratory infection (i.e., chesty cough but not very painful) and I still tire easily but not 'extreme fatigue.' Was also given Augmentin as a prophylactic against bacterial pneumonia as I have a history of secondary bacterial chest infections following the flu. This has been an absolute miracle drug for me personally, and I hope the same comes to the others in need of it on this site."

"I am 18 years old, and I have had influenza B before. I first started noticing symptoms on Saturday night, beginning with a mild cough. I woke up the next morning feeling awful, I couldn’t leave bed, I was running a 101.7-degree fever. The next day (yesterday), I felt twice as bad, I was running a 102.2-degree fever, so I went to urgent care. I was prescribed Mucinex and Tamiflu. Thirty minutes after taking the medicines, I vomited twice. I thought it was just the Mucinex, so when I woke up this morning, I only took the Tamiflu. I have been vomiting all day. Not sure if it’s just my body rejecting the medication, but I know I felt much better before taking this."

"All I can say is thank God for anti-nausea meds! I took Tamiflu with a bit of food, as instructed, and within 20-30 mins was violently throwing up, which wasn’t at all part of my flu symptoms. Back to the doctor I went to get anti-nausea meds prescribed, and the moment I took them, I felt completely better. Ate more food and was able to easily take Tamiflu with no issues. I understand it’s a super strong drug, but if you really need it, I recommend requesting an anti-nausea medication to go along with it."

"My fever went down within a few hours, and I was feeling better the next day, but weak. After finishing the last dose of 5 days, I became extremely nauseous, and my abdomen hurt so badly I didn't think I would survive. I didn't vomit, but stomach pain was excruciating. It has lasted over 24 hours so far, and I can't find any advice regarding what to do about the pain."

"I was diagnosed with the flu and tried Tamiflu. I had one pill, and three hours later I had horrible side effects - I couldn't keep anything down, insane nausea, lost all feeling in my extremities, and my hands and feet cramped up so I couldn't move. Sharp pains all through my chest. It was bad, I had to go to the ER. Two of the doctors told me to keep taking it, but the ER nurse told me she doesn't like Tamiflu and I could stop taking it. I stopped and woke up feeling way better."

"I took Tamiflu last year, 2 days after having flu symptoms and being recommended by my doctor. At first, it worked great, completely knocked out my fever and chills. Then, on day 2 of taking this drug, I got the worst headache of my life. I’ve never had migraines, but I’m certain this drug caused me to have one. I had to lay in the dark, with no sound or light for 4 days. I would have rather had the flu for a month than take this medication. I would highly recommend NOT taking this med, it’s not worth it."

"I was prescribed Tamiflu after being ill with a strange and strong flu virus, but it made me feel so much worse, with vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches in addition to my flu symptoms. It really isn’t worth it, and I wish I wasn’t prescribed it because now I’m faced with the task of finishing it because you have to complete the pack. I’m dreading taking the next one. It really isn’t worth feeling this way for hardly any benefits. Plus, it’s super expensive."

"Was too sick to get out of bed, so my paramedic daughter called 911. Fatigue was great, as was fever. Dr prescribed me Tamiflu. It gave me horrible diarrhea and painful vomiting. I begged my daughter to take me back to the ER. She said it is flu symptoms. Six days later, I still have diarrhea and no other symptoms. I know now that this is a side effect. I will miss my last 2 doses. It's too painful."
