"I was diagnosed with MS in 1997, and I have neurologic bladder. I cannot feel when my bladder is full, and the muscles do not work well. I took pills for a lot of years, but the incontinence became worse. So I went for Botox injections. My doctor does it as day surgery because she says it would be uncomfortable to have all the injections while awake. Apparently, there are lots and lots of injections. I am sore when I urinate for a day or two, this is due to the injection sites. Botox for the bladder is a total change of life. Before the Botox, I had to use level 3-4 pads. About a week after, I use no pads. I also sleep through the night without visits to the bathroom. My doctor says normally the Botox lasts about 3 months, but they last longer for me. When the Botox wears off, it is a slow progression of incontinence, so you start with 1 pad. For my neurologic bladder, it is a miracle medication and one less pill."

"I’d like to start off by saying I was diagnosed with MS in 2007, and ever since then, I’ve developed many other issues that I won’t go into, but I have IC bladder disease. It has now been a week and two days since having the Botox injections, and I’m still in horrible pain. I was diagnosed with IC, which is a very painful bladder disease, about four or five years ago. I’ve read other people's comments on here about why they personally tried Botox. I have tried everything without success for the bladder pain, anyway, Botox was my last resort. I have, however, just read the comments on here, and someone else had the Botox during an IC flare as well, but after the flare calmed down, the Botox did kick in. Again, it has only been one week and two days since I had Botox, so I am praying that the same will be for me. I will post later on and mention an update on my progress."

"Had it 2x, 1st in office (DON’T recommend!) and 2nd in OR. Both 100u and both lasted less than 3mo. Getting 3rd one in couple wks w/300u to see if it will last longer. Also have MS and IC, thin bladder tend to retain so she always makes me use an indwelling cath for two weeks so I don’t rupture from retention. Due to spinal injury my urge is very faint. Straight cath otherwise as needed. All symptoms gone!"

"I use catheters 3 times a day, usually around 8 hours between them. Without them, I don't release urine at all. In the past, I used Bethanechol, but I was afraid to have kidney problems, and I continue using only catheters for 7 years already, and with proper care, without infections."
