Reglan (metoclopramide) for Gastroparesis "I have what has so far been categorized as gastroparesis-- and while it did help with my stomach pains after eating, I acquired a heavy restlessness that basically made it impossible to do anything. I could hardly focus my vision nonetheless my mind, and my muscles felt tense and restless, occasionally twitching. It was almost an anxiety level of antsy feelings that I sort of had to wait out. At least when in pain I can focus and actually do things (albeit with more effort), but with this I was useless."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Gastroparesis "This drug should be taken off the market. Has a Black Box warning. Caused a constantly twitchy finger (tardive dyskinesia) after three pills. Took months for it to go away and left the finger permanently weak, sometimes this side effect is ongoing and irreversible"

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "I was just given this medication through IV for a migraine the other day. It only took moments and my heart started instantly racing, my legs felt super heavy like I couldn’t move, my face was tingling, and I felt like I couldn’t breath. It was to the point where I couldn’t even talk just scared that I was dying. I was then given Benadryl and with 15min the symptoms subsided. I can not stress enough how real it was and how it was the scariest experience of my life."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan via IV and mouth just prior to both of my c-sections. On both occasions, within minutes I was very anxious. On the operating table I had an anxiety attack and was begging for someone to help me. Everyone just thought I was freaking out because it was a c-section. I thought I had gone crazy. It ruined both of my childbirth experiences because I didn't care about the birth - all I wanted was to crawl out of my skin and disappear so I could get away from the awful panic and anxiety. Although I was physically present for the birth, mentally and emotionally I had checked out. "

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I have been having heartburn, nausea and general sick to my stomach for years. I have been taken this drug for 3 days and my stomach has not felt this good in years. I hope this continues to work and I can now sleep late because I am not getting up to puke or take an antacid."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan intravenously for nausea while in the emergency room. Almost immediately I began have these overwhelming urges to rip the IV out of my arm and run away as fast as possible, it felt like a shock wave was passing through every muscle in my body. The nurse said it was "restlessness" and it wasn't uncommon. Every few seconds the sensation would return, and all I could do was wiggle around in the bed and cry, I felt so helpless. It took an hour for the feelings could go away. "

Reglan (metoclopramide) "WORST experience of my life! I was prescribed Reglan for nausea since I had been given pain medicine for a kidney stone. Immediately after putting the Reglan in my IV, I was a different person. I became extremely agitated. I had muscle spasms in my neck and couldn't stop twitching. I felt insane and like I was crawling out of my skin. I was so tired but couldn't sleep. I felt like what I would imagine roid rage to feel... The absolute worst feeling! I was given Benadryl to dullen the side effects and it didn't touch the symptoms. I had to wait for the medicine to run it's course to actually feel normal again. I'm not sure how this medicine is okay to administer but it needs to be illegal."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "I had had a stroke on Dec 17, 10 days after a stent had been put n my neck. A few nights later I had to go to the ER as I had the worst headache of my life on the left side of my head. They said they were going to give me a concoction that takes away any kind of headache. It was Reglan, benadryl , and Pepcid...and I'm sorry for all the negativity on these other posts, it almost seems like the same person keeps coming in and saying the same things....cuz I get panic attacks very easy but this concoction not only knocked me out for 5 hrs. It took the headache totally away so a big thumbs up they even gave me a prescription for reglan..."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "Second pregnancy, diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravadarum (severe morning sickness) I’m the natural queen when it comes to medications and treatment but this was something I knew I needed help with! I was first prescribed Zofran, the first hospital stay and it didn’t help at all! Fast forward 3rd visit to hospital I was prescribed Reglan in my IV and at first I started to feel antsy, could not stay still and my mask (due to covid-19 pandemic we all have to wear them) I felt I was suffocating!!! I was extremely hot as well, it lasted until about 15 minutes after meditation, I must say that Reglan has help tremendously with this sickness!!! It really saved me. If you can get past the first dose and the weird side affects of anxiety this medicine really helps with nausea/vomiting . If your morning sickness isn’t to bad I would refrain from taking any medications. Hopes this helps."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "I went to the hospital for hypertension which caused an excruciating headache. I was given benedryl + reglan & almost immediately started to feel strange. I couldn’t sit still, I got hot and sweaty, and wanted to stand up but I couldn’t due to the IV’s. I was screaming to unhook me and just wanted to leave. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to go home. I felt like I was dying. I became paranoid and anxious to the point I ripped the IV out of my hand-blood was dripping everywhere & the sight of it made me vomit. It was a huge mess and I couldn’t calm down. I finally just ran right out the hospital & went home. Now I know by reading it was definitely a reaction to the reglan and I am definitely adding it to my drug list of absolute intolerance . It didn’t take my headache away and caused the worse panic attack I have ever had when I don’t have a history of panic attacks. Seems to me you should be warned about these types of side effects before hand."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan in an ER when I couldn't stop vomiting when I had a migraine. It helped to stop my vomiting, but I reacted horribly. It made me uncontrollably agitated and nervous. I couldn't stop moving, I couldn't think clearly, and I couldn't relax until I was given a sedative. I now claim that I am allergic to the drug due to the way my body reacted to it."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for GERD "This medication made me feel like I was going crazy. I slept all day and my bones felt all mushy, could barely walk and had severe back and neck pain which I still do and prevents me from living life normally. I never know medication could do this until I experienced it for myself."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Gastroparesis "Went to the hospital for uncontrollable nausea/vomiting and am Type 1 diabetic. By IV it made me restless, agitated, and my face felt slightly swollen but it along with some Zofran in-between stopped the vomiting. They diagnosed me with gastroparesis so now I take it 30 mins before I eat and once before bed."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "Was given this for a severe migraine along with saline in a drip. After 10-15 minutes I was 100% better and wide awake ready to go and not in an anxious or wired way just felt ready to go home and pick back up my night. Nothing ever has worked this fast for me and I've been to the ER for migraines many times in the past. This was by far the best medicine given to me and I had no side effects whatsoever. 2 thumbs up for this medicine!"

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "They gave me Reglan in the ER for my nausea I was having due to my pregnancy. The nurse slowly pushed it into my IV and walked out, as soon as he closed that door my body set into panic. I was extremely uncomfortable I wanted to get out of my own skin. I felt like I was suffocating and started sweating from the panic so I was hot and feeling like I was going into a bad anxiety attack. I had racing thoughts and I thought I was going insane but I didn’t know why, I have anxiety but not that made me feel like that. After 5 minutes of realizing I couldn’t calm down on my own I rang for my nurse and she came in knowing exactly what was going on. I mean I'm literally in here close to ripping this IV out of my arm so I I’ll take nausea over this feeling any day. Do not take this medicine if you don’t have to or have pre existing anxiety. I know there aren’t many options for pregnant women but this is a kind of torture I could live without."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Gastroparesis "I started this medication for Gastroparesis after 11 months of not being able to keep anything down. I noticed it helping after first two doses. I was so excited until the awful side effects started. Drowsiness to the point I couldn't function, severe stomach and back pain and bowel issues. I had to stop after 5 days in order to be able to take care of my family. So disappointed."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Gastroparesis "Took it for diagnosed gastroparesis in 2012. I felt great for about 5 hours and then I had an allergic recation. For me that meant I felt burning ants under my skin as the muscles in my face and neck locked themselves into distorted positions. I spent hours staring at the ceiling because my neck was completely straight and locked, my eyes couldn't focus, and my face made all sorts of nonsense expressions making it hard to breathe. My mother said I went cross eyed. Of course I also started vomiting profusely."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "I shared the same feeling of panic after receiving an IV push of Reglan. I never had panic disorder before, but now I can’t get rid of it. I really want to get the COVID vaccine but this experience is really making me nervous. Has anyone else who had this reaction received if?"

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I’m shocked to see so many people had bad reactions! I have SEVERE vomiting at the beginning of my pregnancy with my twins. I had lost 20 pounds in a matter of weeks and was totally unable to keep anything down. Eventually I was taken to the ER because I lost consciousness due to dehydration. They first gave me Reglan at the emergency room and it worked WONDERS. I was on it until about 16 weeks and was able to start eating and drinking and have had a healthy pregnancy since. I had no side effects other than it making me a little sleepy."

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan pre surgery last month. My daughter was with me and warned me that she had a bad experience with the drug; made her anxious and weird feeling. The nurse said that the chances of me experiencing any symptoms were very low, so I went ahead and let her administer it to me. Bad decision! The side effects were horrifying. I felt the need to leave the hospital and felt super anxious. Luckily they were able to rinse out with saline and the effects subsided. If my daughter wasn't with me to explain, I would have thought I was losing my mind! Never again!"

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "I was given this in an IV (along with Benadryl) in the ER when I had a horrible migraine. The nurse said it would make me tired when she gave it to me at 4 pm. Well I was tired for about 3 min. then the "fun" began. Like the other poster, I started to feel extremely anxious. I kept tossing and turning in the bed because I felt like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I had to wait for 2 IV bags to finish before they would let me leave. When I got home I was exhausted but at the same time could not sit still to save my life. I had that "wanting to crawl out of my skin" feeling all night as I paced the house exhausted. I was finally able to fall asleep at 5 am. The next day I was really shaky and still a little bit anxious. "

Reglan (metoclopramide) for Migraine "11/2/21 I had a terrible migraine went to ER they gave me a cocktail for Migraines. I wasn’t told the side effects. As soon as the Teglan, Benadryl, Toradol was put in my IV …It was the worst anxiety I’ve ever felt. I instantly wanted it out of my system. A day later and still anxious. I would rather have a terrible headache than those meds any day."
