"Took this prep the day before my colonoscopy at 5 pm as stated. Didn't start working until midnight! Took the second dose and nothing happened. Felt bloated and sick, and could not drink any more water than recommended. Had a colonoscopy scheduled but have to go back in a year because I wasn’t “cleaned out,” and yet I followed directions accurately. Next time will use the liquid form, what a waste of time!!"

"Pills went down easily. 90 minutes in, and I began to vomit horribly. I immediately had a horrible headache and decided not to take the second round. The prep did begin to work, but my side effects were a weird taste in my mouth for days, a headache, and a neck ache for a week or better. Decided to go back to the Suprep. I was really hoping it was a better alternative for me."

"Sutab is so much easier than other preps. I was a fan of Miralax prep, until I tried Sutab. I recently went to a different doctor that prescribed something else - I requested Sutab instead and was able to get it. No cramps, no disgusting liquids, a smooth process. It can have a higher copay than other options, but well worth the bit of extra money."

"I had my colonoscopy on a Friday at 1 pm, so starting Monday of that week, I drank lots of water and Gatorade in preparation for drinking lots of water with the Sutabs. I wanted to be very hydrated. I'm female, 70 years old and didn't want to get dehydrated. I took the first 12 pills at 6 pm the night before, and the other 12 at 6 am the morning of the procedure. I'm used to drinking 7-8 glasses of water a day, so drinking all the required water wasn't a problem for me. (They are large pills and my cost was $160.00 for the 24 pills. Medicare does not pay). I didn't have any issues, perhaps a small amount of nausea but that was all. I didn't have much cramping either, hardly any. I got a clean bill of health and was totally cleaned out for the colonoscopy. You see some horrific experiences here, but I had no issues and would do it again. Prepare with lots of liquids the days before. I think that helped."

"Let me say that I had no major problems... After about 1 hour, the water started going right through me – cleaning me out. No major rush to the bathroom, just belly rumblings telling me to get ready... All the water was finished going through me about an hour after the last round of water. BUT here is what I would recommend: 1) I am a 59-year-old male weighing 188 lbs. I must admit, it was difficult taking in so much water. It was not the pills that were a problem, but all that water. So if you are a tiny person – it may be more difficult. Maybe that is why some feel nauseous. But once you start “going” – you feel less bloated. 2) Get a bidet! I had installed one in my bathroom a few months ago (not for this reason) and it worked wonders. It basically showers your “spot” so no rubbing or toilet paper needed. I cannot imagine “wiping” so many times with these pills. If you cannot install one – then buy a portable one. They are like $10 at Walmart for a cheap one."

"These pills are a life changer! I will never use anything else. Cost: not covered by my Medicare Advantage plan. Cost at the pharmacy was $198. I paid $50 with mfg coupon. Prep: followed low-fiber diet 1 week prior to pills. Ease of use: as long as you can take pills, it was easy. Pills were smaller than my daily multivitamin. Pills had no flavor. Discomfort: for me, there was NONE. No upset stomach. No cramping. No bloating. Method: I took the pills 2 minutes apart. They say to use a sip of water, but keep in mind you have 16 oz of water, so you can use over 1 oz of water with each pill. That's a good-sized swallow, so don't worry about using too little water. OVERALL REVIEW: I would use this again in a heartbeat. And to me, it's worth every penny. Never going back to that liquid."

"The evening before and the morning of my colonoscopy could not have gone smoother. After reading all of the reviews of Sutab, I was prepared for a nightmare scenario, but it was truly as easy as could be. About 15 minutes after the first dose, I felt my first bowel movement urge. It was already significantly liquid-ish and a good amount. For the next four hours, the BMs came about every 20-30 mins and were much less significant, with increasing clarity with each one. I had to wake up at 4 am for the second dose, and the BMs were more frequent and more significant in amount, eventually getting perfectly clear and yellowish. I experienced no stomach pains/cramps, no nausea, and no intense urge to rush to the toilet. Just minor stomach gurgling. It was quite a pleasant and easy experience, especially compared to what I was mentally prepared for."

"Did it clean me out? Yes. All other aspects have made me decide I’m not going through this again. I was given Zofran for nausea and still had nausea that kicked in about 15 minutes after the last pill. Lasted 1-2 hours. The worst part about the first dose was how sore I was getting from going to the bathroom and wiping. The first dose was not pleasant, but it was the second dose that was my deciding factor on not doing this again. Second dose - I only took 10 pills instead of 12 based on progress. It took me almost 30 minutes to take the 10 pills. Pretty much after my first round in the bathroom, I was clear. I only managed to drink 12 oz out of the 32 that you are to drink after an hour, mainly due to nausea and the time cutoff by the doctor. Soiled my clothes 3 times and decided just to wrap myself in a towel. It was gross. Not going through the torture again regardless of medicine type."

"The worst bowel prep I have used. It caused nausea and vomiting, and I was unable to keep down the second dose. They are large pills and not the best thing to take before a bowel prep. I drank plenty of water and took Zofran, but it did not work well. Would not recommend it."

"I started taking the first dose of Sutab after a liquid diet all day. Started at 5:00 pm, and it’s now 1 am, and it's not working. I have chills and a headache, but not much else. I’ve had many colonoscopies, and this is the first time I have ever had this problem. I’m afraid to try the second dose, so I’m rescheduling, hopefully with a better prep."

"Best and easiest prep used after 3 previous preps. Follow the directions and you’ll breeze through. No taste, easy evacuation, and great results. Through 2 doses, I had 5 bowel movements in total. Drank tons of liquids, but felt great, process was quick, efficient, and concise."

"This was the absolute easiest prep ever! I had done the drink in the past and went through the horror of drinking that awful stuff. I woke the next morning and was not clear. So I never returned to have a colonoscopy. 8 years later and my new doctor prescribed Sutab, it was so easy to take, 12 pills at 6pm and take with 16 oz water. Then two 16 oz water after. I was able to sleep without needing to get up in the middle of the night. I woke at 4 am and finished the other 12 tablets. I did not have any nausea or vomiting at all. Trick is to take them slowly and don't think about it. The prep was perfect and I was able to finally have my colonoscopy."

"As a past colon cancer survivor, I have had multiple colonoscopies done and always used a liquid prep. This time I was prescribed Sutab, and I wish I had read the reviews prior to taking them. I followed the directions to a tee and felt bloated, and once everything kicked in, I had such burning in the anal area that it felt like I was on fire. Based on the time of my procedure, I had to get up at 3:30 am and do the second dose. The prep did not clean me out completely according to my doctor, and I have never had this happen before. She was able to get the majority done, but it did not go well. The following day, I still felt depleted and very fatigued. The next day, I woke up in terrible pain in my legs, back, chest, and joints. This necessitated a hospital stay for severe dehydration. I will never use this prep again and wish I had seen the reviews before taking it. It has now been a week since my procedure, and I am still feeling the effects."

"Horrible side effects and still no results 24 hours after taking all the tablets exactly as directed by my doctor. Very painful cramps, severe distension, nausea, lots of gushing sounds, but no evacuation whatsoever. My tests need to be rescheduled after my doctor has me do yet another prep. It certainly won't be Sutab. Amendment to the above: evacuation has begun 25.5 hours after taking the first dose. The cramping is unreal. This is all happening after my scheduled test time, so I now need to remain on clear liquids for another 24 hours and have my colonoscopy tomorrow. This product is the pits."

"Here are some tips to help your colonoscopy preparation experience: Firstly, I recommend that you ask your doctor for Zofran to alleviate nausea. Although pills are more convenient and do not taste bad (except when you burp), the nausea may be worse than in previous colonoscopy preps. In my case, I never vomited with the liquid prep during my previous two colonoscopies, but this time I vomited an hour after taking the second dose. I had to confirm with the doctor's office whether the prep would still be effective. Eventually, I passed clear liquid stool, so it was deemed satisfactory, but I only scored a 7 out of 9 for the quality of my prep. Despite following every dietary instruction before and during prep, I do not know what else I could have done. Secondly, you might want to consider sitting on towels or wearing an adult diaper during prep to avoid accidents. I had an unpleasant accident, which did not occur during my previous preps. The sudden bowel movement happened 2.5 hours after taking the first dose, leaving me no time to reach the bathroom. Finally, I suggest purchasing baby wipes with aloe or a similar alternative, as well as hydrocortisone cream to alleviate any discomfort."

"This was my first colonoscopy, and I was very happy to have a pill option for the prep. Taking both doses was pretty easy and without side effects. (Had the slightest hint of nausea with the second dose, but it passed quickly.) It took about 2 1/2 hours after completing the first dose to see results, which lasted a couple of hours. I was able to sleep a few hours, then completed the second dose. That one had results after 1 hour and lasted about 2 hours again. For pre-prep, I did an entirely liquid diet the day before. The day before that, I avoided high-residue foods. I did fail to avoid strawberries and raspberries for 3-5 days prior. Apparently, those seeds stick in your intestines and create an annoyance/blindness during the procedure."

"My son has to have frequent colonoscopies due to high cancer risk (he has Ulcerative Colitis and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis). SuTab has been the easiest and best bowel prep for him. It’s highly effective and he’s not forced to drink massive amounts of nasty-tasting liquid. As others have advised, follow a low-residue diet for several days prior and stay very well hydrated."

"This is the best way ever to prep for a colonoscopy. It's easy to swallow, no bad taste, and it works. I made sure I didn't have any breakfast or any solid food. I only drank water and clear electrolytes. I took my first prep pills at 9 a.m., and second prep pills at 3 p.m., and I was done by 7 p.m. All clear. No cramps. Thank you, Sutab pills, for making prep so much easier."

"I took Sutab at 5 pm and had nausea, cramps, vomiting, and weakness, and I could not sleep. I took a second dose at 5:30 am the next morning, and it lasted till 7 am. It was effective in the end but was not as easy as the preps I have used in the past."

"First time doing a cleanse for my colonoscopy. I was offered several options to cleanse but chose the Sutab based on the fact that I had gastric bypass and have a hard time with large amounts of liquid that would need to be drunk for the other options. Started on a low-fiber diet about 5 days before. Had to do a two-day cleanse due to chronic constipation (hence the need for the colonoscopy). Used magnesium citrate liquid x2 before taking the Sutab along with a clear liquid diet. Took as directed with the appropriate amount of water (maybe a little more). The pills are big but are odorless and tasteless, I had no problem taking them and took them all within 5 minutes. I had no side effects from the pills, and they started working within an hour. After I took the pills, I started reading reviews and was shocked and then panicked, but everything was fine. Worked as promised. I’d do it again if I need to. The magnesium citrate liquid was way worse than the pills, for me anyway."

"I have ulcerative colitis, so unfortunately I am not a stranger to the colonoscopy experience. I was diagnosed 26 years ago. This was my first time using Sutab for my prep, and I have to say that reading the reviews scared me. The prep is typically pretty hard on me. Thankfully, I did not experience any ill side effects. It was a very easy process. I ate light for several days leading up to my prep and then followed the directions for my diet prior. If you have a hard time getting so much water down, don’t fret. You pretty much need the initial 16 ounces to get every pill down. I was completely ready for my scope, which is even better. I highly recommend this prep over the drinks and ungodly other preps I have done previously."

"My third colonoscopy, so pills and drinking water sounded like a good idea. Followed instructions of low-residue foods and liquid diet on prep day. First dose, 6 pm, with 16 oz of water. Unfortunately, I had violent vomiting. Once that stopped, I drank the second 16 oz of water, and the cleansing started. Had to stay in the bathroom for several hours. The second dose was taken at midnight. In hindsight, I should have not done the second dose, but the scope was scheduled for 6:30 am. With no way to call anyone to cancel. Definitely a nightmare of vomiting and diarrhea. The biggest problem now is my stomach is so sensitive to food, I'm on a low FODMAP diet. Never had a problem eating anything before the prep. Love spicy foods. A 24-hour phone number to a medical professional would have been very helpful. I could have called and asked questions and canceled the procedure. My husband took the same prep before me and didn't have any problems. Me, everything was severe from vomiting to diarrhea, and the second dose was worse."

"Best prep so far! I used it yesterday. It’s 12 tablets over 20 minutes with 3-16 oz glasses of water to finish over two hours. I took one tablet every 1 1/2 minutes with a few sips of water (set a recurring timer on my phone) and watched a movie. In 20 minutes, I’d taken them all. No taste. 30 minutes later, they started to do their job, and I was done in 2.5 hours. Took a 5-hour sleep, then up again for part two, which went just the same. Easiest prep ever. Doctor said excellent results. They are about the size of a multivitamin, so if you can take those, you’ll be good. Don’t drink a bunch of liquid before you start, so you’ll have an empty stomach and the water doesn’t fill you up."

"This was my fifth colonoscopy and my first time using Sutab. I had no nausea or vomiting. The only side effect I noticed was small stomach discomfort. I took one pill every 90 seconds with a sip of water, plus followed with the drinking of additional water as directed. I think this might have made the difference over taking all twelve pills at once. Overall, this was much better than drinking a gallon of Miralax the day before followed by magnesium citrate the morning of the procedure. I would use Sutab again over other options. Highly recommended. There was a coupon online, so I only paid $40 for this medication."

"I asked for Sutab since I was having a 2nd colonoscopy in less than a year and did not want to do Plenvu again. I already take a lot of psychiatric/pain medication, so swallowing all of those pills in short bursts of time was not a problem for me. I would not recommend it for people who have difficulty swallowing large pills because you have to take 12 of them within 20 minutes and then 12 more on the morning of your procedure. The first dose hardly cleaned me out, but that is probably because of inadequate hydration and diet in the days leading up to the prep. I felt nauseous a few hours later, so I took a Zofran 30 minutes before taking the 2nd dose. That one did the trick, and I was finished clearing out in time. The doctor’s report said that my preparation was adequate. I will do Sutab in the future. P.S. I have heard that this med is expensive and insurance may not cover it. I was lucky and got a complete box for free from my doctor, so I don’t know about the cost."
