For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Victoza on March 25th, weighing 318 lbs. Experienced mild side effects - loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation. I have now lost 30 lbs, and this drug has drastically changed the way I eat and view food, and I no longer have any day-to-day side effects. I am eating much less at meals, no snacking, and it has changed my cravings for junk food and sugar. Most peculiar of all is the fact that I am unable to drink beer anymore! I love beer, but after 1, my stomach turns inside out and I feel sick - not good for my love of beer, great for the health benefits of not drinking beer. :) I have hit a few plateaus, but then the weight loss begins again. I have gone down 2 pant sizes - this is a miracle drug for me!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Saxenda 8 weeks, have lost 14 pounds. I have a large bowl of porridge for breakfast, then take 1.8 mg, have something else to eat around 4 pm, but no appetite at all really. I do take 2 teaspoons of inulin powder daily, which cured the constipation. No additional exercise, no side effects so far. I bought 3 pens online for £150, which have lasted 8 weeks as I've been upping the dose slowly and only when I start feeling hungry again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried Victoza 0.6 a few months ago, had severe dizziness 24/7; stopped. Wanted to try it again, as I have to lose weight and am insulin resistant. This time started at 0.3 (5 clicks). Had the headaches (head, neck), burping, and some nausea, but stuck with it for 3+ weeks before moving up to 0.6. After 2+ weeks of 0.6, I'm now at 0.9, largely without side effects except constipation. My endocrinologist says the best weight loss is at 3.0, but at 0.9, I'm absolutely seeing weight loss (6 lbs in a month) and noticing a distinct lack of hunger. I'm cautiously giving it a rating of 8 because it still beats amphetamine-like appetite suppressants. If you have trouble, start very low and take your time moving up; so far, I believe it's worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 51-year-old female, have been on Saxenda for one month now and have lost 10 lbs. I have had no side effects, other than the odd day of redness around my injection site. No nausea or vomiting. I have had occasional constipation, but find that has been when I haven't drank at least 6-8 glasses of water. I'm eating much healthier, more vegetables and fruit, smaller portions of meat and cheese... NO FAST FOOD. My appetite has definitely decreased, and I don't have the same cravings as before. I am listening to my body more, and recognizing hunger as opposed to mindless snacking just because. When I feel like a treat, I have dried apple slices, hummus and low-cal crackers, healthy snack bars instead. Motivated :)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Saxenda for 10 weeks now. I started at the weight of 294 pounds. I am now 253 pounds. I've completely cut out alcohol, red meat, and soda. The drug makes it very easy to eat healthy. Very minimal side effects. Constipation being the worst, but not too bad."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 58, always walk about 4 miles with my dog each day, but at 5'3" and weighing 156 lbs, my weight was slowly creeping up. This is because I love wine, cheese, bread, pasta, takeaways, and any type of salty snack. I've no 'off switch' and no portion control. My clothes were all too tight, I started to feel lethargic and was losing self-confidence as I was becoming a chubby blob. A friend recommended Saxenda to me, and it's worked brilliantly. All the above foods are repellent to my brain, I don't want them at all. I can sit next to a bowl of peanuts and casually ignore them! I'm 4 weeks into using Saxenda today and have lost 16 lbs. Only side effects have been constipation (still) and 3 weeks of heartburn (now gone). I'm still on 1.2 mgs as my appetite is suppressed. Saxenda gives me the willpower that I didn't have to stop eating rubbish."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this journey so disappointed in myself, knowing exactly what obesity can do to us. I’m 63, female. Always at the upper end of blood sugar without diabetes, insulin resistant, never had high blood pressure until now, when even more kilos crept on. Drinking socially almost every day. Food obsessed, particularly chocolate, bread, pastries. No off switch when I’m full. Really a classic overeater. I am at week 4. I have had reflux and constipation. But wow, I feel amazing. No hunger, so two small meals a day, easily. No alcohol, no sugar, no dairy. 6.1 kgs down and 10 cm off my waist. I am so happy and energetic for the first time in so long. Keep going, everyone, it’s my lifesaver. BP 4 weeks ago 200/110, today 130/80."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started with my Saxenda 0.6 injection for the first two (2) weeks and had no side effects at all. Prior to deciding to take Saxenda, I did quite a bit of research to find out about physicians in the St. Louis area, the success and side effects. The blogs all talked about the nausea and constipation that was horrible. This was a big delay for me making a decision to try the drug. My obesity is a health factor and can potentially become life-threatening, so I weighed the pros and cons and decided that I would try anyway to see if I could weather the side effects. After the first two (2) weeks of injections and no side effects, I returned to the doctor for a follow-up appointment to find that I had lost 14.5 pounds. Try it for yourself."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Follow up to my 2-month post, went to the doctor this week and down 51 lbs in 4 months, the nausea has subsided for the most part, just once in a while. Love it!! I am still losing weight and have started to work out 4 times a week. This medication makes it easier for me to make healthier choices. Constipation is still a bit of an issue, but better, headaches are also gone. Not much more to go!! Will update in another 2 months. Highly recommend! Good luck!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Update... I have been on this for 4 weeks now and have lost 13 lbs. This is a miracle product, and I am overjoyed with how I feel and how well it works. I have stuck to about 1.8 level, if I go higher, I tend to get very queasy and experience headaches. Constipation is rough, so I have been taking an herbal cleanse tablet each night, and that is helping to keep me regular. I get full very fast and have no cravings like I used to. I'm just not very hungry, and when I am, it doesn't take much to fill me up. I am eating about 1,500 calories a day, and that is plenty. I even have a glass of wine with dinner and am still losing lbs. My blood pressure has never been lower!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "42 yr old white woman, 5 ft 7. Nov 2016, 19.5 stone (124 kg / 273 lb). 20th Aug, 16 stone 2 lb (103 kg / 226 lb), 46.6% body fat, started Saxenda. Today, 15 stone 2 lb (97 kg / 212 lb), 43.2% body fat, loss of a stone (6 kg / 14 lb) in 3 weeks 2 days. I'm on 1.2/day. Very few side effects. The only one of note has been constipation, which has been significant and annoying, but I've had no headaches, nausea, or tiredness. The drug has greatly reduced appetite & cravings. I'm not counting calories, but eating a fairly low-carb, high plant-based diet with lots of fiber. Today, I had a handful of cherry tomatoes with basil, rocket & a bit of olive oil, 3 apples, 2 boiled eggs, a slice of rye bread, some broccoli & milk (in tea). The insurance question isn't relevant. I'm in the UK. It's not generally prescribed on the National Health Service yet. I paid a total of £323.44, $400, for a private GP's appointment, prescription, 5 pens, and all the necessary needles, so about £65 ($80) per pen."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 5'2''-today marks 2 weeks on the med. Started at 192, now at 183. 1st week did 0.6 mg. Lost ~6 lbs, probably H2O? At 1.8 mg today, but the scale hasn't moved in days. Small needle-no pain. A few times had stinging-not bad. Dose initially at night, switched to AM. No side effects for 5 days, then had a bad migraine. No nausea like others. Appetite is crushed! Have to force breakfast and barely eat lunch. I'm 'hungry' at dinner, but can only stomach a few bites. ~800 cal/day? No snacking. A few times felt dizzy, increased H2O and ate protein. Constipation is the main problem now. Senna tea and lots of H2O to help. Little exercise now, but will start walking. Goal to be about 120 lbs by Christmas-~60 lbs more to lose. Insurance covers at $50 copay. Wish me luck!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have tried in my life every diet plan out there. I have lost and gained over and over. My family physician prescribed Saxenda for me. My insurance company is paying for it. In my first week on it, I have lost 7 pounds. This makes me very hopeful. But you can't do it by using the drug alone. You have to reduce your caloric intake. I follow a program set up by a dietitian. I drink about 3 liters of water a day. This will be a long road for me, yet very positive! My cravings have stopped altogether, and no more late-night snacking. I started to give my injections in the morning, but I was feeling so tired throughout the day. Now I'm feeling much better giving them at night. I do feel a little bloated and have had to use a gentle laxative for constipation."

For Type 2 Diabetes "4-week update: Well, I'm a bit disappointed. I started Dec 28th, 2015, and was doing well until the past couple of weeks. Brutal constipation and upset stomach. Gastritis attacks. That was on a 1.2 dose. Dr. told me to stop it for a week and then try again at 0.6. I am going to do this as I really like the med. It lowered my blood sugars from 13 to 5.7, and I am losing weight, and the appetite suppression is great. I tried to forge through the side effects, but my stomach was too bad, and I was missing work. I don't want to scare anyone about this review. Just give it a try. I was scared at first. Will update again when I re-start."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been using Saxenda for the past three weeks. In the first week, I lost 5 lb but found I was heavily constipated. No other side effects. In the second week, I used laxatives as I felt so bloated, this was my downfall. I put on weight due to it causing water retention and hunger - I felt the injections weren’t effective, although I’d upped the dose to 1.2. I’m on week three. I have started to lose weight again, although constipated. I guess my point is the medication does not work with laxatives."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started 5 weeks ago, and I have lost 18 lbs. Life changer how I feel. I started at 288 lbs. I started at a low dose week one, and week two went to 1.2 dose. Have had no need to increase it. Only one issue is constipation. I take a stool softener. No headaches or vomiting for me. I am full with about 1500/1600 calories a day. I eat 3 meals. Will start exercising soon. All I can say is it works for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Tried metformin and other oral meds, but none could control my fasting levels, and metformin makes me very nauseous. Endo suggested Victoza. Gave me samples to test. Lost about 10 lbs in the first 1-2 weeks of using it. No obvious side effects initially. Sugar levels seemed to normalize, and I had a complete loss of appetite. All seemed well. The samples ran out, and I went for a period without using it while I awaited an endo follow-up. I could see the difference in my blood sugar levels when I stopped. However, after getting back on it, the weight loss did not continue. The longer I use it, the less it works. Now experiencing shortness of breath. Seeing a cardiologist tomorrow. Side effects I've experienced are constipation, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath."

Also, dry mouth, but gum helps. The needle doesn’t hurt. Highly recommend if you have a lot of weight to lose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This is my third week on the medication, and I'm down 11 lbs - a miracle for me! Starting weight was 198 lbs at 5'7, and with PCOS, weight loss has been difficult before Saxenda. I no longer crave sugar, and I'm finally that person who can have a square of chocolate and put the rest in the fridge! I haven't cut out any food groups, but it's been a godsend for portion control - I'm simply not hungry. I've only just upped my dose to 1.2 and was on the min dose of 0.6 for 2.5 weeks. I don't think I'll go any higher. Side effects have been constipation and some heartburn, but the positives massively outweigh this. My goal now is to focus on healthy eating, as when I come off, I don't want to be craving sugar, etc. Wish I'd found this sooner!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 56 years old and was at 285 lbs, 5'8'. My history is I have had a full thyroidectomy due to cancer, spinal disc disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and had also bladder cancer. My food intake is low, 40 carb and under a 1,200 calorie diet, walk 3 miles daily. I'm on Victoza 0.6 once a day and the weight I lost was 10 lbs. My side effects include constipation, which is the main issue, and I also have mild nausea for a few days. My blood pressure meds were cut in half, no need for cholesterol meds, nor prescription omega-3 for high triglycerides. Anyway, I feel great. I sleep better, going up to 1.2 dose next week. 100% total success, worth it all so far. You must drink a lot of water, that's the only thing - I drink a lot of water and eat lots of fiber from vegetables. I recommend Victoza treatment. I have Medicare and Tricare for Life coverage."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On November 18th, I started Saxenda. I'm now into my fourth week of the injections, and I am happy to report I have lost 20 lbs. Finally, a medication that works in the fight against obesity. Constipation can be an issue, but I find I can keep things moving, lol, by taking one Senokot twice daily. I had very few side effects that only lasted a few days. However, I do find if I eat too much, I get a stomach ache that only lasts a few minutes. I love this drug! I will probably be on it for a few years. Good luck to anyone who is considering this drug."

My only real complaint is that I get very sleepy about 2 hours after the injection. Have mild constipation and occasional nausea after 2 weeks. Initially, had bad nausea. I am real pleased with how it is working for me so far."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Update #3 or 4, lol. I've been on Saxenda, 2.4 current dose, I have lost a total of 28 lb in 2.5 months! I am having some gut issues now: constipation. DO NOT eat sweets, I get very sick when I eat anything like a bite of a brownie or a York patty. My body won't tolerate the sugar, which for me is GREAT. I started at 208, I am now 184, an average loss of 2 lb a week. I'm super happy with this medicine. I do feel as if I've hit a plateau, so I need NOT to drink wine or diet sodas. When I drink only water and some milk, I drop about 3 lb a week."
