My doctor told me I probably had it for years. I had three blood transfusions years ago, back before blood was tested. My doctor told me the Harvoni might cause headaches, so I should drink lots of water. I did drink lots of water, and when I got a headache, I would drink more water. The headaches were occasional. I did feel a bit more tired than usual, but for the most part, I had very few side effects. I had my doctor do a full viral load blood test last year, and I am still HEP-C free. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I had genotype 1A, probably been at least 40 years with Hep C. My liver has been stable, but the doctor wanted to begin treatment. I was really hesitant but assured that it was min to no side effects. Wow, did I go for a ride though hell and back. I had severe high blood pressure, I am on blood pressure medication, and it was 188/118. I was seeing spots, vertigo, I felt like I was ready for a stroke. The worst part was the aggression/sadness, I became deeply depressed. Very depressed, so depressed I lost me. It was just awful. The medication is so strong, it just runs through everything. Ledipasvir / sofosbuvir for Hepatitis C "I am almost finished with my 8-week treatment. The first month was rough. I had headaches, night sweats, fatigue, nausea, and would wake up around 3 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep for 3-5 hours. Month 2 was better. No more night sweats or nausea. Headache not as bad, and I'm sleeping better and have energy. I developed large, somewhat itchy rashes on my abdomen at the start of the 2nd month, but they are clearing up now. I wouldn't have wanted to go to work during this treatment and was fortunate enough to have some time off and then work from home. The virus was still detectable at 4 weeks, but very low. My starting viral load was 385,000, and I have substantial fibrosis. I've always been VERY sensitive to medications and supplements, so I was glad I could handle the treatment. For Hepatitis C "I'm 64 and had hep C for 40 years. Don't drink, smoke pot, take sleep medication, have a weak stomach, occasional headaches, and psoriasis. Started treatment in September. Experienced no side effects whatsoever. Bonus: the psoriasis on my knees and elbows is 95% gone. Was also taking Ribavirin. They don't want you to smoke pot because it is so important that you take meds on time. I'm cured from hep C. Hope this helps."

Now I just have to wait for the 12 weeks to make sure it's completely gone. I was SUPER worried to start taking the meds because I have EXTREME medical anxiety and panic disorder.
