"Just completed 12 weeks of Harvoni two days ago. Had many side effects while on it, sudden sky-high blood pressure which I never had before. Dizziness, vertigo, severe insomnia. However, now that I have completed the medicine, I feel incredible. Like I've been born again. Overall, I would say if you can get through the side effects and stress of dealing with insurance, then go for it. I will have to see in 3 months if they killed the hep C completely, but in the meantime, I am going to enjoy every healthy, beautiful new day."

"8 weeks of Harvoni, passed first month undetectable, 2nd month undetectable and just completed 12 week SVR! I am done - hep C free forever more! I did not experience anything to complain about and only felt better each day knowing I was going to kick hep C's butt! So happy that Kaiser made it so easy for me to start treatment and so supportive! Thank you Dr. and Gilead - you rock!! You saved my life and I will see my grandchild get married! Amazing!"

"I contacted hep C 30 years ago and found out that my liver wasn't doing so good. Quit drinking and all the dumb stuff 25 years ago. Been jogging at the gym every other day trying to take care of my liver. Well, my liver was early stage 4 fibrosis. So, I had to get treatment fast. I started Harvoni 9 weeks ago, 3 more to go. And 0 side effects. I drink over a gallon of water per day and still visit the gym, jog, and play baseball on the weekends. My anxiety level was so awful about starting Harvoni. I postponed it for 30 days, and when I decided to take the first pill, I drove down to the hospital, sat in the parking lot in case something happened..lol..lol. And it never did. So my advice is don't be like me. Swallow the pill because it's not bad at all."

"I contacted Hep C sometime between 1970-1985, so I had it for a long time before I knew I was infected. I tried 1 round of treatment, but it did not clear the virus, and I was really tired and cranky all the time. I completed the Harvoni treatment this past May, and when I did the follow-up in October, I was still virus-free. The only side effect I noticed was about 9 days after I started it. I felt like I had more energy than I'd had for the last 10 years!"

"Been taking Harvoni thirteen days now. I never realized how bad I was till I started taking Harvoni. I feel ten years younger and have much more energy. Hard to go to sleep at night but not tired. My aches and pains in my wrist and hand have disappeared. I feel like I have a new life in front of me. I am 72 years old. Had Hep C since 1980 from transfusion. Good luck to all."

"I've had all of the side effects except headaches. I'm pushing myself because I've been really nauseated, and I'm on my 3rd week. I'll keep you all updated as time goes on, but I am so grateful to have a second chance at life."

"I took Harvoni for 8 weeks, and before finishing it, the doctor told me that my blood test did not detect any virus. So I am due for another blood test in 2 more months. I am not using, and I am not drinking."

"Was diagnosed in 2006, but most likely contracted it back in the late mid-70s. I started on Harvoni in November 2015, finished 1/2016. I had not one side effect whatsoever. My last viral count was zero! I am not on any other medications, but I do take a super B complex vitamin every day. Taking this medicine was a piece of cake! Thank you to whomever came up with this medicine."

"I am on the Harvoni treatment, starting my second month of 3, and so far my only side effects are the headache and feeling tired at times, both quite tolerable, anxious to hear my blood results from month one... Thank you, Harvoni."

"I attempted 4 previous Pegasys-related treatments in the past 12 years. The last one in 2012 also involved Incivik, whose side effects actually resulted in my need to receive a live liver transplant from my wife on 3/1/13. I began my Harvoni treatment on 3/18/15, and as of my 4-week appointment, the virus has been reported 'Undetectable!' My side effects were headaches and an upset stomach for the first 3 days... but that was it."

"I'm still in shock. No relapse this time. This was my fourth try at getting rid of Hep C. Harvoni was by far the easiest in terms of side effects. I took it for 12 weeks, trouble sleeping and headaches were my mild reactions to the drug. I was diagnosed in 2001. I suspect I was infected in the mid-'70s. This disease has been a constant reminder of my poor choices in my youth. I hope the guilt and shame I sometimes feel will abate. I did not want to die from this, leaving my family the knowledge I died of a self-administered disease. I quit drinking (30 years February 1, 2016) and believe this helped keep me healthy until this medical miracle. Peace, Mark"

"I just completed my 60 days, and all my blood work is normal, no trace of the hep C virus. And I feel wonderful. A lot of talk about side effects, I didn't even know I was on it, didn't experience anything. But it is gone now, thank God. Harvoni worked for me."

"On my 5th week of 12. Because of the slight nausea, I found it eased up if I eat supper a few hours before I take the medication. Taking it at night before I go to bed has been working very well for me, as it makes me tired [sure gonna miss the sleep aid when treatment is over!]. Occasionally, I've felt a slight headache; drinking water usually takes it away with no additional medication. I 'play' with my diet to eliminate bowel problems, and a daily walk also seems to help. My current lab shows it's working!!"

"My last test results were today. Sweeeeeet! Stress went out the window, Hep C free. It truly is the cure, matter of factly. My last test was 4 months after the last pill because I moved and it took that long to get set up for blood work. Harvoni! Thank you, thank you! Thank you! I was cured by Harvoni. My royal blood is clean blood now."

"To be completely honest, I have only been on it a week. The first thing I noticed is at bedtime I became really tired, or fatigued. Just tired!! I am hoping these are the only things that distress me. I mean, come on, people, hep C will kill you in a horrible way. What is wrong with a little discomfort for a short period of time to save your life? Be positive, pray to God above, and thank Him for your healing."

"I had hep c for 27 yrs. Started Harvoni June 3. It was for 8 weeks. Got my results of the second blood draw today, it is still non-detectable. Thank God and Harvoni. I had no side effects. Those of you taking treatment, hang in there, it is worth it. Get my last blood draw in January."

"I started taking Harvoni for an 8-week period in February 2015. Yesterday, September 16, 2015, I had my second viral load blood test, and the Hep C I had is completely undetectable. This is considered a complete cure in the medical world. For those of you new to Harvoni, the only side effects I experienced were fatigue and a slight headache for the first 8-9 days. After that, I had zero side effects. I didn't even know I was taking the medication. Harvoni is everything they say it is. Keep with the dosage and take it EVERYDAY! 8 weeks goes by really fast."

"Well, I can't say that it was easy. The thing that bothered me most was lack of sleep. Being tired all the time didn't help either. I have 1 pill left and I'm glad it is over. I am 63 years old and retired 5 years ago because of Hep C. At week 4, it was undetectable. Had to take it for 12 weeks. I am a Vietnam era vet, so that is probably where I caught it. If I am truly cured, then the first thing I am going to do is go back to work. Retirement is very boring, and now that I have all of this energy, I am sure that I would go nuts. Some people had no side effects, as you can see, I was not among the lucky ones. It was worth the torment to be free of Hep C."

"I'll be done with the pills next Wednesday. Here is my advice to you: As much as possible, plan nothing, especially strenuous or even mildly active things, even if you feel really great most of the time, like I have. If you do have to go to work or do something active, really try hard to have some backup, a contingency plan. Today I was slammed really hard with the lowest energy and fatigue I have experienced yet. There is no way I could have worked. After two to three hours of this, I am just starting to feel a turn for the better. Having said this, I do not want to alarm you. 85% of the time I have been fine. 10% of the time I dealt with some headaches, fatigue, brief tinnitus, and stuff like that that seemed to pass fairly quickly. 5% of the time, however, I was in the shits and basically good for nothing productive whatsoever. I have heard that everyone is different. Just take this advice to heart, and go as easy as you can, including social events, sports, and any active type of things. When those bad days hit, and you never know when they will, you will really be glad you can take some space for yourself. Such has been my experience with Harvoni. Also, I had to make sure I took a pill at the same time every day, and I made a calendar to 'scratch' off each day, at the same moment I swallowed a pill. They say it is important NOT to miss a day. If you're anything remotely close to like me, trust me, make a system to keep exact info of taking your one pill each day and observe it religiously. I took mine upon arising each day so there was no question for that day."

"I am on my 3rd and last prescription of this wonderful, miraculous medicine. Especially, no comparison to the other medicines I had tried a few years ago and needed to stop. Bless the medical scientists who discovered this to give all a miracle, this is the ace of diamonds! Thank you."

"I got Hep C from a blood transfusion in the '70s and really didn't have any problems until last fall when my liver functions went crazy. The doctor suggested Harvoni, but it was impossible for me financially. The doctor was able to get me assistance, and I began treatment on 10/14/15. The first few weeks were difficult, I experienced confusion, upset stomach, fatigue, and mild headaches. After 3 weeks or so, the side effects eased up, especially the brain fog, and I discovered eating something sweet helped a lot with the stomach problems. The side effects for the rest of the time, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would describe it as a 3 or 4 and would do it again if I had to. Today (1/14/16), I got the results, it is undetectable! What a relief!"

"Today I got my 3-month follow-up blood test, and it came back undetected! I am cured, I was at stage 2, so my liver will fully recover. This virus has been with me almost all my life, 45 years, and I consider it a miracle how easy it was to cure. I feel great, and one thing I know is that whatever kills me, it won't be my liver. I wish you all the same cure results."

"Started this month, get headaches and am tired. Had a liver transplant in July 2014, and have had recurring ascites, getting tapped 2 x a week. It has almost stopped. Keeping fingers crossed. Very expensive, thank God for Tricare."

"This is a miracle drug. My husband had hepatitis C, genotype 1, for 30 years. We decided not to try interferon because of side effects, length of treatment, and low cure rates for his genotype. He took Harvoni for 12 weeks. Absolutely no side effects - he felt like he took nothing at all. And amazingly, hepatitis C is now gone. It has been over a year since the end of treatment, and he is still virus-free."

"I hope people will find that my experience brings hope: I've had Hep C since around 1970. Was treated (interferon, ribavirin, Incevik) 3 times unsuccessfully. Progressed all the way to major cirrhosis and, gasp, liver cancer. Very grim outlook. BUT, I got lucky -- I got a liver transplant in Nov. '14 and am doing great. Very good prognosis, feel fine. And right now, I am about 3 months into Harvoni tx and finally am clear of the virus for the first time. My point is -- Don't give up hope. I had myself mentally dead and buried and experienced a 180-degree turnaround. Yes, I had an incredibly lucky break that not everyone gets, but there is a LOT of Hep C research going on, and new meds in the pipeline. Hang in there and don't bum yourself out."
