For Lactose Intolerance "The first few times I tried this product, lactase, I was fine, it helped a lot, so I offered some to my husband. I even bought more. One day, I became so nauseous, began vomiting for the first time as an adult. Threw up about five times, nausea continued, and the next few days diarrhea began. I thought it was a stomach bug. The next week, I took the pill again, and this time I became violently ill, the worst experience of my life! I began vomiting so much it sprayed on the floor and walls, then I began sweating and had trouble breathing, I had stomach pains and liquid diarrhea. I started getting chills. This was my night. I do not recommend these pills to anyone alive. HC and the FDA should be informed, and the manufacturers should not be allowed to make this product ever again. Judging from the other comments, I'm not the only one."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Absolutely horrible! This is the only thing I’ve done different: try these tablets, and I’m so sick! Awful stomach pains, nauseated, hard bloated stomach, just downright awful feeling! Even by the next day, I’m still hurting! These need to be taken off the market immediately!"

For Lactose Intolerance "I took Lactaid fast acting. Pain started about an hour or two after ingestion. Some of the worst discomfort I’ve experienced in my life. Worked with stopping me from pooping myself from cream cheese, but I got intense stomach pain and nausea to the point I couldn’t even stand. Was hunched over in a fetal position for two hours. Ate some cereal when I was able to get up and took a Tylenol. It helped. 10/10 do NOT recommend."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Worst experience of my life. When I turned 30, I started becoming lactose intolerant. When I was 37, I thought I would try Lactaid to see if I could eat dairy again without issue. I had severe stomach pain and vomiting. It was that screaming type of vomiting. The pain was so bad I thought my gallbladder burst. I didn’t think it was the pills and thought something was wrong with me. Things settled down the next day, so after a week of no issues, I figured it was a stomach bug, so I popped a Lactaid and had two slices of pizza. It was worse than the first time. The pain became so intense I was rushed to the hospital. I was gripping the bedrail from how severe the pain was. They had to give me pain medication through an IV to get it to stop. I saw a doctor and had multiple tests done to check my gallbladder. Nothing seemed wrong. Then I thought to look up Lactaid. I was amazed how many people had severe reactions to this stuff. Stay away from it."

For Lactose Intolerance "I first tried this 6 years ago. Two hours after taking Lactaid, I was vomiting with diarrhea at my daughter's house. I didn't even connect the two. Just assumed it was something I ate, not necessarily from dairy. Two weeks later, I tried taking it before my lunch at work. Within the hour, I was vomiting. I wondered if it was the Lactaid, but thought that was impossible. Fast forward 4 years, and I decided to try again because my lactose intolerance was getting worse. Nope. Same symptoms. So a few days ago, I ordered a different brand of digestive enzymes. Lactase is in this one. I tried this afternoon. I am now severely nauseous with stomach pain. I happened to have some Zofran on hand, so I took it and hopefully I won't vomit! Never again! The 'cure' is worse than the disease!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "My oldest daughter has experienced issues when having ice cream or dairy for a while. The problem is, she is her mother’s child; we like Dairy Queen, and we can’t say no to a Blizzard. I gave her these pills about a month ago, and before we could even get in the door, she was running to the bathroom. I remember thinking that her issues were worse with the pills than usual, but my husband talked me out of that thought process. Fast forward to last night, and I decided to give her the full dose because that could have been the issue last time; I only gave half a dose because I was just starting to use it. Full dose equals FULL misery. My poor baby, once again, could barely get in the door before having to run to the bathroom. Thank goodness I had Zofran, but she’s miserable. It’s been 24 hours, and her stomach is still hurting, and she’s still in bed. This stuff is AWFUL!! From now on, I think we will just go back to Tums and Famotidine 30 minutes before ice cream."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Suspected I was lactose intolerant, so I cut out dairy. Got nostalgic for ice cream and other dairy treats real quick. Gave Lactaid a try at the recommendation of friends and doctor. Several times felt like I was dying. I was up sweating all night with severe stomach pain, felt like my intestines were being wrung into a knot, and prayed for diarrhea, which eventually did come and didn't stop for an hour. This happened to me several times on separate occasions until it dawned on me it could be the Lactaid pills. I never took these horrible things again, and I’ve never had the issue reoccur. I’d rather yolo a bowl of ice cream and let the lactose intolerance run its course than suffer the immense pain these lactose pills caused me."

For Lactose Intolerance "I've been lactose intolerant for a few years, and the symptoms were worsening over time, so I thought I would use these before going to an Italian restaurant so that I could enjoy my food without my stomach and head hurting. Worst experience ever. It had been a long time since I was this ill. I was nauseous, had severe stomach cramps, and cold sweats. I actually couldn’t even touch my meal and had to leave the restaurant early. I thought I was an exceptional case until I found this page. Please do yourself a favor and don’t take it, and mostly, please don’t sell this garbage any longer, it’s just horrible."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I have been using Lactaid milk for a while for my morning cup of coffee and still had issues with bloating and gas, so I recently decided to use the Lactaid Fast Act. I noticed that there were days when my stomach would hurt an hour or two after the pill, but nothing too insanely bad. But today, I only drank my coffee and one of the pills, and three hours later at work, I was in a cold sweat and puking my life away. I hate leaving early, so it was super embarrassing, and when I got home, I felt the same stomach pain I usually get from the Lactaid pill, and additionally, I started having really bad diarrhea. This pill was supposed to make me more comfortable, but I almost puked all over my coworkers and pooped to within an inch of my life at home. I'm hesitant to ever take these again."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I took 2-3 Lactaid tablets yesterday and have severe stomach pains. This happened 2 months ago, and I had to undergo two weeks of antibiotics to treat an H. pylori infection. Going for another H. pylori breath test today. Lactaid may disrupt stomach flora."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I've been lactose intolerant since I was a young child, but I never took anything for it. I avoided regular milk and have only used Lactaid milk or soy. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try Lactaid Fast Acting pills because I was tired of the gas and upset stomach. This medicine has caused me severe stomach pains and diarrhea. I am currently curled up in a ball in pain. I would rather have terrible gas than take this pill again."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I am mildly lactose intolerant and have used Lactaid brand milk for several months without issue. Suddenly, one day after ingesting this product, I became violently ill with extreme stomach pain and vomiting. This occurred almost immediately and lasted for nearly 10 hours. I was fairly certain that I was experiencing a reaction to the Lactaid product for a number of reasons. I think most people experiencing this level of pain would have rushed to the emergency room. Don't ingest things your body can't process, regardless of what they tell you."

For Lactose Intolerance "I drank coffee with cream and sugar, and I’m a lactose intolerant person. I felt bloated, constipation, and pain in my stomach. It was time to eat a Lactaid pill. I ate two and got even more sick. I had diarrhea all evening, and my stomach was in pain. I was thinking, what if I didn’t take the pill and just let it run its course? It’s good to know there are others out there that have issues with the pill, leaving me not alone."

For Lactose Intolerance "My mom bought these for me a while ago. I was hesitant to try, as I’d read some pretty bad reviews. I have lactose intolerance, it’s not life-debilitating (usually just gives me diarrhea or stomach pain), but sometimes I just want some dairy! So finally, a few weeks ago, I gave them a try. They worked, so I tried them maybe 3 other times. Then, last week, oh man. I tried them with my dinner (pasta with creamy sauce), and 2 hours later, when I got home, I had severe back pain, nausea, the shakes, etc. I vomited for the first time as an adult. I had about 3 sessions, puking 10 times altogether, and diarrhea too. I thought I had food poisoning! Fast forward to today, a week later, I wanted cheese, so I had lactaid again because I figured my illness was from food. Exactly 2 hours later, my back began to hurt, and I ended up experiencing the EXACT same thing. I’m sitting here now, still shaky. DO NOT USE THESE. This is 10,000 times worse than ANY effect I’ve had from dairy. Feel better, everyone."

For Lactose Intolerance "I had a problem with name brand Lactaid if I took it more than once a day. Then I read the ingredients. It contains maltitol. That gives me bloating, gut pain, and terrible gas. However, Equate has a type that doesn't taste good but has no maltitol, and it works fine. I can take it several times a day, and it doesn't bother me. Puritan's Pride also has one that you do not chew without maltitol. I know that any of the 'ol' artificial sweeteners have the effect of bloating, gut pain, and terrible gas."

For Lactose Intolerance "Violently ill each time I've tried it. Takes about 2 hours, then severe nausea kicks in. And then the projectile vomiting, along with explosive diarrhea - at the same time! Spent hours on the toilet with a puke bucket in my lap. Terrible stomach pains, chills, weakness too. Awful, awful. Trashing the rest of the box."

For Lactose Intolerance "The first few times I took these, I was fine. Over time, I noticed that I would get bloated, stomach pains, and diarrhea. That’s when I started to get suspicious. The last time I took these pills, I was sure they were the culprit. It started with an unbearable stomach ache and chills. I ran to the toilet, and diarrhea came out of me like water out of a faucet. After I was done, nothing comforted me besides the floor. As I laid on the floor, ugly crying, I could also hear my stomach crying with me. It wasn’t over. I felt the urge to puke coming, so I ran back into the bathroom. I made it just outside the bathroom when projectile vomit sprayed out of me like a dragon breathing fire. I didn’t make it to the sink, but luckily it hit the tile. I puked about six more times, filling up the sink. My husband checked on me, and to both of our horror, he slipped on my puke! There was vomit in between his toes, and I couldn’t even warn him. I was violently ill. I’ll never take these pills again."
