Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Two nights ago, I indulged in some ice cream and decided it would be a good idea to take 2 Lactaid pills with it. Wrong! Yesterday, I was sick as could be with multiple unpleasant bathroom visits, cramping, nausea, chills, etc. Apparently, based on the other reviews here, I was one of the luckier ones. Now, 48 hours later, I’m finally feeling like myself again. I threw away the rest of the package. Do yourself a favor and avoid these."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "If I could give this product 0 stars, I would. I took this pill twice and felt that the product worked fine. A couple of days later, I was experiencing the worst abdominal pain and cramping I've ever had. It put me into the hospital. I'm on my 4th day of misery, and I promise I will never take this again. I would rather experience what I usually do after eating dairy. It's not worth the risk of seeing if it works for you. It's going into the trash."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I have taken this pill 3 separate times. Every time I have taken this, I have severe cramps and diarrhea. Horrible diarrhea! The first two times I took this, I thought it was something I ate that was bad. Now, the third time dealing with this, I know that it’s the pills. When my stomach wakes me up in the middle of the night so I can spend an hour in the bathroom, it is not fun. It usually lasts for 24 hours, but it’s embarrassing to tell my boss I can’t come in because I’m on the toilet. Never again will I take these, and I would never recommend them."

For Lactose Intolerance "I would not recommend lactase to anybody! I had taken these pills a couple of times and felt fine, but the third time I have taken these, I am violently ill. I have never thrown up like this and had such bad abdominal cramping and diarrhea. I thought it was caused by the dairy I ate, although I had never thrown up from my intolerance before. But after reading several other reviews on here, I know it is the pills that caused this. I have no idea what is in these causing so many people to feel this way, but I would way rather take my symptoms of bloating and indigestion compared to the pain these pills brought me."

For Lactose Intolerance "I have a pretty mild lactose intolerance usually. A big dairy meal can result in an upset stomach, cramping, and gas. I tried a lactase enzyme to hopefully relieve my minor symptoms. Upon taking the pill, my symptoms seriously escalated! I’ve tried it twice now, and both resulted in a terrible upset stomach, diarrhea, and vomiting. Googling the enzyme reveals no side effects, but after looking through these reviews, I’d recommend using it with caution!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "This is the first time I’ve bought this brand, and the rest of the stories sound very familiar. I took 1 pill and ate 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, and I was in the toilet with cramps all day. Then tried 3 pills. Same. With 2 slices of pizza, and nope, it did not help. I felt cramps, so much bloating, and constipation, then diarrhea. What a bad experience!! I thought this would help me, but no. Do not recommend this brand. I bought it at CVS."

For Lactose Intolerance "I tried lactase inxe while pregnant and ended up vomiting profusely. I chalked it up to pregnancy woes. Just tried it again (over a year later, obviously not still pregnant). I have been vomiting so intensely that my 3-year-old is terrified. I'm experiencing abdominal cramping, sudden diarrhea, and horrible retching. FAR sicker than I would have been just eating the dairy alone."

For Lactose Intolerance "I've been lactose intolerant since my early 20s. I used to take lactase back then and thought it just didn't work well for me. Then one day I took some and ended up vomiting up the ice cream I ate. I figured my intolerance was just that bad, and I've avoided dairy entirely since. Recently, I ordered dairy-free dip, and my shopper accidentally grabbed the wrong one. I eat cheese with no issues and thought, maybe I'll get some lactase and try with this, so it doesn't go to waste. I took 2, ate some dip, and felt bloated and nauseous after. I thought, maybe I just need to take more next time. Horrible mistake. It's a few days later. I took 4 and ate some dip and I've been violently ill since. Vomiting, cramping, nausea, diarrhea...I've not been this sick in years. I will never touch lactase again."

For Lactose Intolerance "I just wish I'd read these lactase reviews before. I took a couple of tablets, over 2 days at the end of Sept and had 4 days' worth of severe vomiting and diarrhea. I didn't link the 2 at the time and figured I'd had a horrible tummy bug. Fast forward 2 weeks later, and I had a cheese fondue, so I took a tablet to avoid the bloating. Instead, here I am again with horrific vomiting, cramps, sweats, pain, and diarrhea. I was racking my brain, working out what I'd eaten or who has been sick recently in case I had caught something, then suddenly realized the only thing I'd done different was the medicine. Just Googled 'can lactaid cause vomiting,' and I got a sea of pages and people reacting the same way. I will never take or recommend this product to anyone again. I feel terrible, and I'm sad that this isn't more well-known as a side effect."
