Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "This worked once or twice. Four days ago, I became ill after taking these pills, not knowing what my problem was. I was vomiting, had diarrhea, and was shaking. I had other symptoms but I ended up going for a COVID test because I was so ill. Only 4 days passed, and I took the pills again tonight. Here I am, typing this from the bathroom floor, extremely nauseous, and just had diarrhea. DO NOT BUY THESE. It is not worth the bathroom time and how rubbish they make you feel."

For Lactose Intolerance "The first few times I tried this product, lactase, I was fine, it helped a lot, so I offered some to my husband. I even bought more. One day, I became so nauseous, began vomiting for the first time as an adult. Threw up about five times, nausea continued, and the next few days diarrhea began. I thought it was a stomach bug. The next week, I took the pill again, and this time I became violently ill, the worst experience of my life! I began vomiting so much it sprayed on the floor and walls, then I began sweating and had trouble breathing, I had stomach pains and liquid diarrhea. I started getting chills. This was my night. I do not recommend these pills to anyone alive. HC and the FDA should be informed, and the manufacturers should not be allowed to make this product ever again. Judging from the other comments, I'm not the only one."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Absolutely horrible! This is the only thing I’ve done different: try these tablets, and I’m so sick! Awful stomach pains, nauseated, hard bloated stomach, just downright awful feeling! Even by the next day, I’m still hurting! These need to be taken off the market immediately!"

For Lactose Intolerance "I’m new to the lactose intolerant world. I made it to 50 without any dietary issues. I started having tummy troubles after eating yogurt or cheese, so I tried Lactaid. My first experience was a week ago. I had an iced coffee with cream and popped a pill for the first time so I could enjoy the coffee without the belly cramps. A couple of hours later, I felt off. Something wasn’t right, and then the vomiting started. I just assumed it was something I had for breakfast and left it at that. Fast forward 1 week. I’m out for pizza for lunch and give the Lactaid another try. Biggest mistake of my life! I barely made it home before the violent vomiting started. I had the sweats, the shakes, and I couldn’t even pick up my head or open my eyes without getting nauseous. It took over an hour to stop the multiple vomiting and diarrhea sessions. I looked up the side effects, and my symptoms weren’t mentioned anywhere. Thank you all for sharing. It’s nice to know it wasn’t just me!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Two nights ago, I indulged in some ice cream and decided it would be a good idea to take 2 Lactaid pills with it. Wrong! Yesterday, I was sick as could be with multiple unpleasant bathroom visits, cramping, nausea, chills, etc. Apparently, based on the other reviews here, I was one of the luckier ones. Now, 48 hours later, I’m finally feeling like myself again. I threw away the rest of the package. Do yourself a favor and avoid these."

For Lactose Intolerance "I have very mild lactose intolerance, and for the most part it doesn’t affect my daily life other than getting a stomach ache after a particularly dairy-heavy meal. However, my girlfriend has it pretty bad, so we usually have this stuff on deck. A few days ago, we had a cheesy dish, and I thought to take one of these because it couldn’t hurt. An hour later, I was incredibly nauseous, had diarrhea, and even had a low-grade fever. I was so miserable I cried, but thought it was the stomach flu. I was fine for a few days, and then tonight I took a lactaid, and we are in this same position - nausea, diarrhea, cold sweats, etc. Something told me that maybe it was the lactaid, but after doing research, this was the ONLY website where people shared my experience. I will never be taking these again. Also, I know it’s not the lactose itself because this has NEVER happened before. Wish me luck as I take a Pepto-Bismol and try to ride this terrible night out."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "After not having many issues with any dairy other than ice cream, I decided to try Lactaid in order to be able to enjoy the delicious treat of vanilla ice cream once more...but I regret everything now. Not only did it not do Jack squat, but my symptoms of lactose intolerance are even worse now. Usually, I can get away with just a little bit of gas, and I'm fine, but now I have nausea, diarrhea, gas, and bloating. Worst decision ever!!! This product deserves negative stars!!!"

For Lactose Intolerance "I started taking lactase pills to help with the effects of lactose intolerance. The first three or four times I took them, they didn't seem to do much in the way of easing the symptoms of lactose intolerance, and my stomach felt a little nauseous. The next time I took it, I became so ill I thought I had the flu. When I took it again, I became sick again with an upset stomach, diarrhea, headache, and muscle aches. So much worse than the symptoms I get from eating lactose. I will never take this again!"

For Lactose Intolerance "I took Lactaid fast acting. Pain started about an hour or two after ingestion. Some of the worst discomfort I’ve experienced in my life. Worked with stopping me from pooping myself from cream cheese, but I got intense stomach pain and nausea to the point I couldn’t even stand. Was hunched over in a fetal position for two hours. Ate some cereal when I was able to get up and took a Tylenol. It helped. 10/10 do NOT recommend."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "Like many others have reported, I tried taking Lactaid only twice and became violently ill 4 hours afterward each time. I will not try it again. Like many things, it sounds like it works for some but not others. I suggest you plan ahead when trying it. The first time I took it with ice cream and thought it was a reaction to the ice cream or only taking two pills. I tried it again a week later before a meal containing small amounts of dairy and had the same result. I wish I had known this doesn’t work for everyone and may cause worse symptoms than lactose intolerance digestive upset alone."

For Lactose Intolerance "I first tried this 6 years ago. Two hours after taking Lactaid, I was vomiting with diarrhea at my daughter's house. I didn't even connect the two. Just assumed it was something I ate, not necessarily from dairy. Two weeks later, I tried taking it before my lunch at work. Within the hour, I was vomiting. I wondered if it was the Lactaid, but thought that was impossible. Fast forward 4 years, and I decided to try again because my lactose intolerance was getting worse. Nope. Same symptoms. So a few days ago, I ordered a different brand of digestive enzymes. Lactase is in this one. I tried this afternoon. I am now severely nauseous with stomach pain. I happened to have some Zofran on hand, so I took it and hopefully I won't vomit! Never again! The 'cure' is worse than the disease!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "This made me so much sicker than the discomfort I experience from eating dairy. Twice now I've ended up with overwhelming nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I only figured it out because both of these happened after using Lactaid. There's no warning on the box at all, but trust me, it's horrible. It takes about 3 days to feel better."

For Lactose Intolerance "I so, so wish I had read these experiences. Have taken this maybe 3 times in an attempt to get less gas and bloating with a bowl of ice cream. The 3rd time, a few hours after the dose, I was asleep and woke up to gnarly stomach cramps. Soaked in sweat, pale green, gagging with nausea during diarrhea. Really horrible. Very dizzy, thought I would pass out. Never again. These pills always gave me weird stomach feelings, but I attributed it to the little bit of dairy. Nope, I’d much rather have some gas pains, lol."

For Lactose Intolerance "I’ve used Lactaid before and can’t remember having symptoms from it. I recently went on vacation and decided to buy some in case I ended up having any dairy. Looking back at just a couple of days ago, I understand why my stomach hurt and why I was nauseous. Today I had just a little bit of cheese and decided to take a Lactaid. I all of a sudden felt nauseous and had stomach cramps. I went on a walk and my cramps wouldn’t go away. I was getting chills and almost some cold sweats. Then, the diarrhea... It didn’t add up that my stomach would hurt that bad from half a slice of cheese. It sounds like so many people have experienced similar symptoms. I won’t be taking this again... I have tried the Equate brand and I don’t remember ever having issues, so I’m curious if there’s a difference in ingredients causing this problem. I’m too scared to try again now!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I took one Lactaid Fast Act pill, one time. Never again. I was extremely nauseous for the whole rest of the day. It was awful. I almost left work early because I didn’t trust myself not to get sick at any moment. I am not going through that again!"

For Lactose Intolerance "Lactaid destroyed me. I was really looking forward to enjoying dairy, but unfortunately, the pills caused a non-stop purge (at work, no less) that lasted hours. I was so nauseous that I literally couldn’t move without being sick. I have been super ill both times that I’ve taken the pills."

For Lactose Intolerance "I had taken this medication on 2 separate occasions. Both times I started throwing up so much that I had blood coming up because I ran out of everything else. I had to be taken to urgent care and get IV fluids and about 10 warm blankets before I started to feel normal again. I would rather deal with the symptoms than have to take lactase ever again."

For Lactose Intolerance "I love plain yogurt but was having difficulty with dairy digestion (diarrhea). So, I decided to try a generic lactase chewable tablet. What a mistake. I suffered severe nausea and could do nothing but lay in bed all day. Later, my daughter stopped by on her way home from work. When I told her I felt quite 'off' and what I had taken, she said: I remember when you tried Lactaid about 10 years ago; the same thing happened. I wish I had remembered. I will keep this last awful episode in mind."

For Lactose Intolerance "Like most everyone has stated, I had nausea and vomiting after taking Lactaid. Here is the interesting part of my tale: I actually used it successfully about 4-5 times. I took it before enjoying dairy and had no symptoms. ZERO. Then one lovely evening while enjoying some cheese and wine, I became nauseous and violently ill. Shakes, chills, and up comes all of the food I ate for about the last 90 minutes. Well, I must have eaten something that was bad. I ate regular non-dairy food and no problems. OK, well then let’s test the ‘wine’ issue-had wine with vegan food and ZERO problems. YAY. I guess it’s just a one-off. Well, last night I was chomping on Lactaid like M&M's to keep up with cheese consumption of the night with wine. OMG-even faster of a response of nausea, chills, and vomiting. I thought I was crazy. I never thought a simple enzyme to help digest lactose would be the culprit and WALLAH! I will be shipping my Lactaid pills to a friend who can take it no problem."

For Lactose Intolerance "I have mild lactose intolerance, so I decided to take some lactase before eating some mozzarella, which I can normally handle with only mild discomfort. Within 15 minutes of taking the lactase, I was nauseous and dry heaving into the toilet. Would not recommend. I tried taking it in the past as well with similar outcomes, but thought it was a fluke. Now I know."

For Lactose Intolerance "Tried these about six months ago, and within a few hours, was vomiting along with profuse cold sweating. Thought it was a bug or perhaps the pills were past their expiration date. Tossed that bottle and worked up the nerve to try them again. Big mistake. Two hours after taking them, nausea and stomach cramps set in. Vomiting and the worst diarrhea ever set in soon after. Will not be taking these again."

For Lactose Intolerance "So good to know I’m not the only one. Every time I use this product, I immediately get nauseous. I guess I’m going to have to do things the hard way and stop my dairy intake. It is definitely worse taking the Lactaid than being serious about my intolerance. They need to change the official side effects. I believe they get away with saying there are none."

For Lactose Intolerance "I've been lactose intolerant for a few years, and the symptoms were worsening over time, so I thought I would use these before going to an Italian restaurant so that I could enjoy my food without my stomach and head hurting. Worst experience ever. It had been a long time since I was this ill. I was nauseous, had severe stomach cramps, and cold sweats. I actually couldn’t even touch my meal and had to leave the restaurant early. I thought I was an exceptional case until I found this page. Please do yourself a favor and don’t take it, and mostly, please don’t sell this garbage any longer, it’s just horrible."

For Lactose Intolerance "So after numerous times of taking these pills and becoming extremely nauseous, I’m now Googling and finding all you guys experiencing all the symptoms I’m having. Gosh, I wish I could’ve pinpointed it earlier, it just didn’t dawn on me sooner. Wow, so many testimonies all the same. I threw my 60 tablets in the trash, never again. Lesson learned."

For Lactose Intolerance "Man oh man. I’d rather deal with the effects of dairy products than use this stuff. If you’re reading this in an attempt to figure out if you’re alone, then don’t worry, you’re not. You may even be reading from the bathroom, wondering what the heck is going on. The two times I’ve taken this to counteract the effects of eating dairy, I’ve been sick with nausea, and both times ended with me upchucking what I just ate. No less than an hour or so later, tops. Stay away from this stuff. You may be one of the lucky ones who it works for, but this harmed me way more than any dairy product ever did. Take care now. Hope you feel better soon!"
