Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "After not having many issues with any dairy other than ice cream, I decided to try Lactaid in order to be able to enjoy the delicious treat of vanilla ice cream once more...but I regret everything now. Not only did it not do Jack squat, but my symptoms of lactose intolerance are even worse now. Usually, I can get away with just a little bit of gas, and I'm fine, but now I have nausea, diarrhea, gas, and bloating. Worst decision ever!!! This product deserves negative stars!!!"

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I took the chewable Lactaid on three occasions. The first time, I had to miss work for the remainder of the day as I was vomiting nonstop. Next time, the same. The third and last time, I ended up in the ER, I was in pain, had a fever, diarrhea, and vomiting at the same time. My wife was the one who recalled that all three times I was sick, it was when I used Lactaid Fast Act chewable tablets. NEVER AGAIN. I did not believe it, so I tried eating the cheese I had that night without Lactaid, and I did not have any symptoms except the usual bloating I get from lactose. I prefer bloating to spending a night hooked to the intravenous fluids."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I enjoy the Lactaid vanilla chewables before ice cream and cheese (other than cheddar, which I can eat no problem without it and Greek yogurt). I am not saying it's perfect, but I don't get the constipation and bloating I usually experience without it. I take 1-2 tablets immediately before the first bite. No issues."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "This is the first time I’ve bought this brand, and the rest of the stories sound very familiar. I took 1 pill and ate 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, and I was in the toilet with cramps all day. Then tried 3 pills. Same. With 2 slices of pizza, and nope, it did not help. I felt cramps, so much bloating, and constipation, then diarrhea. What a bad experience!! I thought this would help me, but no. Do not recommend this brand. I bought it at CVS."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "I have been using Lactaid milk for a while for my morning cup of coffee and still had issues with bloating and gas, so I recently decided to use the Lactaid Fast Act. I noticed that there were days when my stomach would hurt an hour or two after the pill, but nothing too insanely bad. But today, I only drank my coffee and one of the pills, and three hours later at work, I was in a cold sweat and puking my life away. I hate leaving early, so it was super embarrassing, and when I got home, I felt the same stomach pain I usually get from the Lactaid pill, and additionally, I started having really bad diarrhea. This pill was supposed to make me more comfortable, but I almost puked all over my coworkers and pooped to within an inch of my life at home. I'm hesitant to ever take these again."

For Lactose Intolerance "Right now, I feel very, very sick. I just took 3 extra strength Lactaid pills, then ate a small creamsicle. I was convinced my lactose intolerance must have increased to a new level because I am severely bloated and nauseous. Now that I read these reviews by my fellow sufferers, I see that the Lactaid failed to protect me."

For Lactose Intolerance "I drank coffee with cream and sugar, and I’m a lactose intolerant person. I felt bloated, constipation, and pain in my stomach. It was time to eat a Lactaid pill. I ate two and got even more sick. I had diarrhea all evening, and my stomach was in pain. I was thinking, what if I didn’t take the pill and just let it run its course? It’s good to know there are others out there that have issues with the pill, leaving me not alone."

For Lactose Intolerance "I usually take the Equate brand of Lactaid (usually 2 pills depending on the amount of dairy I'm going to eat with the first bite of said dairy), and I had very little to no problems when taking it. But I bought the name brand Lactaid and did the same thing when taking the pills, yet I've been sick for 3 days with bloating, gas, and diarrhea. My rating reflects the use of the name brand Lactaid, not the Equate version."

For Lactose Intolerance "I had a problem with name brand Lactaid if I took it more than once a day. Then I read the ingredients. It contains maltitol. That gives me bloating, gut pain, and terrible gas. However, Equate has a type that doesn't taste good but has no maltitol, and it works fine. I can take it several times a day, and it doesn't bother me. Puritan's Pride also has one that you do not chew without maltitol. I know that any of the 'ol' artificial sweeteners have the effect of bloating, gut pain, and terrible gas."

For Lactose Intolerance "I've been lactose intolerant since my early 20s. I used to take lactase back then and thought it just didn't work well for me. Then one day I took some and ended up vomiting up the ice cream I ate. I figured my intolerance was just that bad, and I've avoided dairy entirely since. Recently, I ordered dairy-free dip, and my shopper accidentally grabbed the wrong one. I eat cheese with no issues and thought, maybe I'll get some lactase and try with this, so it doesn't go to waste. I took 2, ate some dip, and felt bloated and nauseous after. I thought, maybe I just need to take more next time. Horrible mistake. It's a few days later. I took 4 and ate some dip and I've been violently ill since. Vomiting, cramping, nausea, diarrhea...I've not been this sick in years. I will never touch lactase again."

Lactase for Lactose Intolerance "In the 20 years I’ve been with my husband, he has never vomited once. He tried Lactaid to help curb other stomach issues with dairy. Used it twice and was fine. The third time he tried them before a slice of plain quesadilla and projectile vomited all over a hotel bathroom and was ill/sore for DAYS. We thought it was food poisoning until he tried them again and same thing, needed to vomit, gas, bloating, diarrhea. Horrible, these should come with a warning."

For Lactose Intolerance "The first few times I took these, I was fine. Over time, I noticed that I would get bloated, stomach pains, and diarrhea. That’s when I started to get suspicious. The last time I took these pills, I was sure they were the culprit. It started with an unbearable stomach ache and chills. I ran to the toilet, and diarrhea came out of me like water out of a faucet. After I was done, nothing comforted me besides the floor. As I laid on the floor, ugly crying, I could also hear my stomach crying with me. It wasn’t over. I felt the urge to puke coming, so I ran back into the bathroom. I made it just outside the bathroom when projectile vomit sprayed out of me like a dragon breathing fire. I didn’t make it to the sink, but luckily it hit the tile. I puked about six more times, filling up the sink. My husband checked on me, and to both of our horror, he slipped on my puke! There was vomit in between his toes, and I couldn’t even warn him. I was violently ill. I’ll never take these pills again."
