For High Blood Pressure "I was using it for a year and a half and lost my quality of life because labetalol left me very short of breath, extremely tired, with weight gain and water retention. I've been off of it for a week and I'm already feeling a big difference. I am also on a high dose of furosemide and the weight and water retention are dropping quickly. Quality of life is returning."

For High Blood Pressure "During my travels, I discovered that not all Sam's Club locations dispense the same labetalol product. I had a positive experience with the product I received out of state as it perfectly controlled my blood pressure. However, upon returning to Georgia and refilling my prescription, my blood pressure became uncontrolled once again. After reaching out to the Florida store to inquire about the product they dispensed, my Georgia store began ordering that specific drug for me using its NDC number. For over two years, my blood pressure readings were textbook perfect until I refilled my prescription in Jan 2023, which resulted in my blood pressure soaring again. I did not experience shortness of breath, chest pains, clamminess, dizziness, or any issues with my vision, nor did I make any changes to my diet or exercise routine. Sam's Club denies any changes to the product, but the timing of my sudden hypertension corresponds with my last refill. I wonder whether Par Pharmaceuticals changed the formula to save money, which resulted in something going haywire. Unfortunately, my attempts to figure out what happened have been fruitless."

For High Blood Pressure "I took labetalol for about 4 years. I took it during my pregnancy and while breastfeeding. It really helped my blood pressure stay in a healthy range. I did have preeclampsia after I gave birth, so we had to increase my dosage. The only negative effect is that I was told this medicine purposely keeps your heart rate down, so it makes it hard to exercise. I was always out of breath, and it was hard to breathe with my mouth closed. I decided to try some different medicines, and so far I haven’t found one that maintains my blood pressure as well as labetalol did."

For High Blood Pressure "I was put on Labetalol about seven or eight months ago. I now get dizzy whenever I stand up too quickly, I feel nauseous frequently, gained more than 30 pounds, trouble breathing and catching my breath, have no strength to even go for short walks! I worked full-time at a retail store seven months ago, and since taking Labetalol, I had to retire. I cannot believe it! I have gone from a hustling 68-year-old to feeling like I am dying. Of course, it is depressing! My doctor's advice: cut back on caffeine! Say what? By the way, my BP is better, which is good, but I feel like I am a dead person."
