For Type 2 Diabetes "The Humalog KwikPen insulin works well, but I have had the issue of my pens jamming, sticking, and just not working. I called the number on the paper that was in the box with the pens. I spoke to the nicest young man, and he helped me fix my pen, then gave me some advice on how to avoid these issues in the future. He even got me a replacement because I ended up throwing a broken pen away before I could finish using it (~100 units left)."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am just switching from Novolog to Humalog. The difference in the FlexPen vs. KwikPen is noticeable. My Humalog KwikPen has a bubble of air in it (never saw this in a FlexPen), plus it jams on almost every stick. What should be a painless task is now reduced to stress, pain, and not being sure I got the correct dose. Come on, Lilly, fix this."

For Diabetes, Type 1 "Have problems with my Humalog pens over the last couple of years. I switch to a new pen and my BG skyrockets. Have to throw away about one-third of my pens. Is there a government agency checking the quality of medication sold to U.S. consumers anymore?"

For Diabetes, Type 1 "I got my first Humalog KwikPen, and it has been a terrible experience. Unlike my other insulin pens, this one is a coin toss as to whether it will deliver the correct dose or not. It regularly doesn't step through the units and quickly hops over unit numbers. I only use 8 units, so missing a unit is a big deal. I started marking the position of the plugger with a fine-tip Sharpie and used calipers to measure how far it should move for 8 units, and now use the plugger position to determine the dose delivered and not the numbers on the dial. Before doing this, I'd get half movement or 4 units and blood sugar readings over 200 at 2 hours. With the plugger moving the correct distance, which means I often have to keep clicking to get there, the insulin works fine for grams of carbs consumed. Given I'm a first-time user and first pen, it is hard to comprehend I just happened to get the one bad KwikPen out of millions, but I guess it's possible."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My 3rd pen in 2 months. The pens are awful, and after a short use, will only dispense half the med, then jam."

For Diabetes, Type 1 "I was using Humalog vial for years. Recently, my pharmacy had the KwikPen of Humalog, and I am having issues when I try to inject myself. The vial is much better than the pen."

For Diabetes, Type 1 "I have now had a problem with 4 boxes of these KwikPens completely going to waste! Each time I take the cap off the pen to use it, it is already dripping insulin! Not only that, but it injects too much insulin into my body, causing me to have MULTIPLE insulin reactions. I’m also concerned about getting an air bubble in my bloodstream because when it leaks, it creates air bubbles in the pen. This is life-affecting. What can I do? Any suggestions?"
