"Went stage 4 with mets to bones and one lung- started Fulvestrant 3 months ago. I can cope with all the minor side effects- but what has been a big problem is that I seem to have a permanent cold/flu/COVID. It's making me miserable, and it must be related to lowered immunity? No one else has mentioned it- so looking to see if it’s a typical problem? I'm a (previously) fit, active 51-year-old mum of 2 school-age kids, and a busy business. Mets are stable from latest PET scan."

"I have been taking Faslodex, Zoladex, and Ibrance for 6 years. I went off of Zoladex 6 months ago! I have been tumor-free for 4.5 years. I had stage 4 cancer with all mets in my liver. They are all gone now! I also live a very holistic lifestyle and do so many things to support my system while on these pharmaceuticals. I had very little side effects, I believe because of the other modalities I incorporate into my healing protocol. In the first few months, I had mouth sores. I had a week or two of hot flashes and insomnia. Then I had no side effects. I did get some irritation and electric feels in the Faslodex injection site. After playing with injection placement, it went away. Now it is back. I am having hip pain and a feeling of burning on my skin near the injection site. I heard they are only supposed to put up to 2.5 cc's of medicine into a muscle. These shots are 5 cc's, which is concerning to me. I am looking to stop this medication soon. I feel I don't need it anymore."

"I was told in 2008 when (not IF) my cancer returned I would be out on tamoxifen. For the past 2/3 years, Dr. finally realized I had bone cancer, lung cancer, and inoperable kidney cancer stemming from breast cancer. I was on Aromasin, not tamoxifen. Dr. prescribed a new manageable plan - Xegva, Faslodex & Ibrance. After Xegva, my body felt like hot irons pressing against me. I went to the doctor's office the next day for the Faslodex feeling very ill and burnt on the inside. Told that was a soon-to-fade side effect. The Faslodex injections put me in a near state of paralysis… excruciating pain… beyond decency - that has lasted for 6 weeks. Ibrance lowered blood count. This was the worst pain I have ever had. Because I can’t endure the injections, the Dr. will no longer treat me. I am begging for palliative or hospice care. I was told they only treat as prescribed. No injections! No medical care/ no referral to another Dr. Hoping for hospice to ease my pain from this treatment and a peaceful end."

"I was diagnosed with Mets to the bone 5 years ago. I have been on Ibrance (oral), Xgeva, and Faslodex injections, both given 1x monthly. My Mets from breast cancer are mostly in my pelvic/seat bone region, but I also have them on my skull, arm, and leg bones. I had a pelvic fracture due to weakness in bone density, which was very painful. This led me to an orthopedic surgeon and the discovery that I needed a hip replacement. I am seventy, and so I would like to suggest to people with hip pain to investigate other causes with a specialist. I was using a cane and in a great deal of pain. Since having a hip replacement, I hardly have any pain at all, and I can walk without a cane and ride my horse. My only issue is muscle cramps in my feet, legs, and occasionally pectoral (chest) muscles. I would like to know how to avoid these painful nighttime terrors and what causes them. Ibrance is expensive at nearly 800.00/mo, even with good insurance. I have lived 11 years since the original breast cancer diagnosis and lumpectomy."

"I am in my third month of Ibrance and Faslodex. The shots are very painful, and they make me feel horrible the day of the shot. My urine is also embarrassingly smelly. Using a heating pad is somewhat helpful. Is there not a way to make these shots less painful? My side effects include constipation, continual pain at the injection site, lower back discomfort, and headaches. My numbers did go down after two months. Not sure how long I can stay on this drug."

"I have been receiving injections of Faslodex for one year now. I have done much research on Faslodex and found that it has given me peripheral neuropathy in my foot and thigh. Not everyone will experience this condition, but I do still take the injection hoping for the best. I also have some arm pains and dry mouth. Every third week, I take Xgeva for my bones and will continue treatment until some other treatment comes my way."

"On Faslodex for a year. Ok so far, just some tiredness and loss of appetite, and some dizziness if I don't keep moving. Scans stable."

"Currently, I am feeling pretty bad, and many of my pains appear to be due to Fulvestrant. Don't feel like doing anything."

"Horrible, painful injections, my hips would swell out like a lumpy wing. Was on it for 3 months, and it was like miracle grow for my MBC, my liver mets flourished into a garden of tumors. Aromasin for 9 months started the two small liver lesions to multiply like crazy, and the Faslodex was worse. All sizes of tumors, the largest being 12 cm. I was on the cusp of liver failure. Also caused sciatica in my left side and have had that for a year and will never go away. New oncologist put me on Taxol for 7 months. The first 5 months liver enzymes were dropping, tumors shrinking, and the last 2 months Taxol stopped working. Everything reversed. Tried CMF and Xeloda, side effects were severe, I refused to do any more treatments. Abraxane now, bad side effects."
