"Holy side effects!!! Caused me dizziness, nausea, sinus and ear pain. Saw someone else complain about it causing cataracts at 37 and severe anxiety! Went to the hospital earlier today, I was so scared about the way I felt!!"

"This has saved my life. I have always been a sneezing mess. I constantly had a blocked nose more or less every day. I stupidly tried to use Otrivine. OMG, what a mistake, as this infected my nose because I became reliant on it, causing inflammation. So, I went to the doctor, who prescribed me Avamys nasal spray. It saved my life. I can breathe again, and it treated my nose from inflammation and also protects it from any further complications. All watery eyes and nose problems gone down the drain. I would sponsor this medicine. Best nasal spray I've ever had. :)"

Fluticasone nasal "It works fine, but I still have some discomfort in my eyes, and after 10 days of taking it, I have developed a constant contraction in my right eye. I will stop using this product and use it occasionally."

Fluticasone nasal "This spray works fine, however, something massive changed about it - the 120 spray used to be 0.54 mL, and it is now 0.31 mL, the same amount of sprays but much less product (about the same size as 60 sprays, which for some reason did NOT change)! Watch out, they're giving you a lot less now!"

"After being diagnosed with environmental allergies, my doctor recommended this OTC med to ease congestion, and I have been using it off and on (mostly off) for 3-4 years. Helps you breathe, but at a high cost for me. Two months ago in the fall, I began using it every night, and within a couple of weeks, started experiencing a cough, dry mouth and throat, and a swollen tongue, felt like my throat was closing up, trouble swallowing. This is when my doctor recommended I see a gastroenterologist. I have also had headaches and upper back pain that was excruciating. I am appalled that this med is OTC. It's a steroid, and the doctor did not warn me at all! I did finally go see a gastroenterologist because of all this, and they said it might be GERD, but I highly doubt that now. I stopped this med and feel much better already. Why no doctor has linked my use of Flonase and my symptoms is unbelievable. Use at your own risk! I can just use saline and deal with some congestion."

"Westward brand fluticasone nasal spray is very watery, and it made me very, very ill. It made my nose and eyes burn. It gave me a horrible migraine. It made me drool and made me throw up, and it made my throat feel like I had swallowed glass. Does anyone know where the HiTech brand or the Apotex brand is? Be careful using Westward brand - it's bad."

Fluticasone nasal "This Flonase has an aftertaste, which is not a problem. It works okay for about an hour, and its effect wears off. The suggested dose is two sprays per day. The post-nasal drip irritation returns, which starts the unending coughing, irritating, yes, very much. I can't increase the dose, so I am going back to the doctor again for another consultation."

"The Flixonase nasal spray itself is considered a good conservative treatment for relief of sinusitis, polyps, and symptoms of allergic rhinitis or blocked nose. But if you have a history of anxiety problems, you need to consider finding another option for treatment and not corticosteroid nasal spray or try decreasing your dose to only 1 spray in each nostril. I tried it for anosmia for 45 days, and there was a slight improvement, no more than that. This drug is making anxiety worse and cannot be tolerated for some people who suffer from chronic anxiety."

"This is the most useless stuff ever invented. I was prescribed and have used it on three separate occasions for seasonal nasal congestion. It does absolutely nothing. NOTHING! At the moment, I have been using it for four days, and my head feels more congested than on day one. Now my ears also feel full, and I can't pop them. Once again, useless, worthless pharmaceutical ripoff."

Fluticasone nasal "Flonase sucks. The first two days I used it, I thought it was the greatest thing ever invented because my horrible allergies finally seemed to clear up. I forgot to take it one day and woke up in the middle of the night with a stopped-up nose, so I took Flonase again as soon as I woke up. It was very ineffective that time. I got horrible headaches, insanely itchy eyes, a sore throat, and my mouth and lips were constantly dry. It has been a week since I've vowed to never use Flonase again, and I still have the worst smell in my nose and mouth from that stupid allergy 'reliever.' If you're wondering if you should hop in your car, make the trip out, and purchase Flonase, I will let you know right now that that is the biggest mistake."

"The negative comments on here blow my mind. The symptoms most commonly listed in the 1-star reviews (anxiety, increased heart rate, depression) are symptoms I've also experienced with allergy meds (Claritin, et al.), but not with fluticasone propionate. Maybe a little at the beginning? But I'm on year 2-3 of using it for spring (and occasional fall/winter) allergies, and it's been miraculous. I have little to no side effects taking it, but most importantly, I have no more allergies! Sometimes if I stay out on a heavy pollen evening, my eyes will be itchy and uncomfortable, but nothing nearly as bad as the incessant stuffy nose and resulting sinus infections and loss of taste/smell that I was having instead, my whole life. I'm not saying this medicine hasn't been terrible for those who wrote poor reviews. I believe them. But as someone who's suffered debilitating pollen allergies since childhood, I have to say fluticasone propionate changed my life."

"I've suffered with allergies for years. Non-stop sneezing (at least 100 times in a row daily) and runny noses until my doctor prescribed me this heavenly medicine. I immediately felt amazing results, and by day three, my allergies were completely gone. I love you, Flonase!"

Fluticasone nasal "I swear they designed this bottle to waste half the product inside and get people to buy more. The way it sits in the hand, it naturally gets blocked by a finger and just dribbles the stuff instead of spraying. Half the time you overcome that obstacle, it barely sprays anything anyway. Absolutely pathetic and shameful design."

"I am allergic to everything. Flonase works. The generics depend on the manufacturer. I've heard PAR is exactly the same as the brand name. I have used Apotex, and it was good. West-Ward is pure snake oil. Pay attention, talk to a pharmacist."

"The VA switched my prescription for Flunisolide to Flonase. The flowery scent triggered migraines for me. I kept trying to use it to make sure if it was the trigger. Not only did it cause a migraine, it did nothing for my allergies. If zero or less were choices on the rating scale, that's where I'd rate it. I'm back on Flunisolide (through Tricare, not the VA) and happy."

"Fluticasone nasal spray has been on my meds list for about 5 years. I used it religiously for about 2 years, thought it lame, stopped it for about a year, then my primary MD sent me to an ENT, who put me back on it. I have again been using it regularly for about 2 years. I STILL believe that it is lame. It does NOT prevent my nose from constantly running. I go through a large box of tissue in less than a week! I maintain control of my allergens in my home (where I am most of the time), but even with that, the fluticasone still doesn't help."

"Avamys has been great for me. There have been no side effects. I usually just take it during the summer and sometimes for short periods at other times. You don't really feel a spray, so it can be tricky to tell if it worked, but usually about 10 minutes after, my nose will clear out, and sometimes I faintly taste it for a few seconds (it's really not bad) so I can tell it's gone through my nose. It can take about 8 hours for the first dose to start working - use as your doctor advises, but I find it is most effective if taken daily during an allergy flare-up. It may take a few days to fully start working. I am very, very sensitive to steroids and try to avoid them, but this one seems very gentle. I have had no dry nose, nosebleeds, or other issues I had with allergy sprays in the past. I use 1 spray in each side, once a day. I have even seen a major improvement in the swelling of my nose/face. I have not had a sinus or ear infection since taking it and used to get them often."

"I'm a 68-year-old female living in Florida and my allergies this year were destroying my life. I had a runny nose, burning watery eyes, and terrible headaches. It didn't matter if I left the doors and windows open, I always felt terrible and tired. I finally decided to look into a different nasal spray and found a generic Flonase nasal spray. I'm 3 days in and already feel like a different person. None of my previous symptoms are present, and I feel alive for the first time in weeks. I plan to continue using it."

"I have anxiety, but Flonase doesn't increase my symptoms. That's not to say it doesn't increase anxiety in others, but for me it doesn't. It's the first time I've been able to breathe through my nose. I've gone my entire life thinking it must be that difficult for everyone, but no, only me. I've tried allergy pills, both OTC and prescription, and none have touched the inflammation in my nose. It's night and day within minutes of using it, so for me it's been relief that I wish I'd gotten sooner."

Fluticasone nasal "I use oxygen through a nasal cannula when I sleep, and stuffy nose from allergies makes it difficult at times. GP said this would help. It irritates my nasal passages and makes the oxygen burn. Also, my nose stuffs up worse after I use it. Pretty useless to me."

"I had pretty insufferable indoor allergies (eyes watering, throat tickles, runny nose), and this is the only thing that manages it. I take it every day (although I see many pushing against this and saying it is unsafe). The only side effect I have is a somewhat dry nose. But no headaches, nosebleeds, vision changes, etc."

Fluticasone nasal "Just started two days ago for relief of seasonal and environmental allergies. I have terrible itchy eyes, a runny nose, and sneezing fits. I do feel less drip, no sneezing, and less congestion. I'm going to finish this bottle ($32 Canadian) and determine if I continue with it. But so far, so good."

"Useless, did absolutely nothing for me except waste my money. The spray would not budge, then it would pour out and waste so much. For 120 sprays, I only got two lots in, and the doctor demonstrated how to use it. Plus, I did look at the YouTube, so I still have the problem and out of pocket 50 bucks. What a waste."

"After reading the comments, I now understand why my heart was racing and I couldn't sleep. I knew the headaches were a side effect, but I legitimately ended up in the emergency room six times in three weeks. They couldn't find anything on me, and I kept telling them the meds I was taking. They told me to take the entire bottle until it was done. I stopped for a few days at first, and I began feeling a bit better. Then a doctor told me to spray it sideways in my nose. Two days later, my symptoms are back, and my heart is racing and my head is pounding to the point I went to walk and get some fresh air. This had been setting off my anxiety and panic attacks back to back, and I thought I was dying. I will not be taking fluticasone again, and the fact the doctors did not mention this to me. I lost so much sleep and couldn't eat. I lost 17 pounds and am struggling to eat again. Would not recommend."
