Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "The first pack I had no issues. It was almost like I was taking nothing. Second pack, I began to have painful cystic acne pop up on my cheeks and lower jawline. I was almost finished with the pack, and due to my work schedule, took them off schedule (minutes to a few hours) for I think 3-4 days straight. Hell promptly began. I started bleeding lightly during the day and heavily during the night. At about 6 pm every day, painful cramps would begin to set in, back pain would intensify, breasts were swollen and tender, and flow increased during the night. I was getting up 2-3 times to empty my diva cup. I skipped 3 days of pills desperate for relief, and it worsened. It got to the point I was emptying my cup every hour/1.5 hours, and was leaking. Instructed to finish the third pack, and we’d reevaluate. Finished it. Still bleeding. Instructed to take 2 pills for 3 days, and if the bleeding didn’t stop we’d have to find a different option. So far, the extra pill has made the bleeding worse."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "Since this is a common side effect, I am going to ask my provider about it. I am experiencing a lot of breast tenderness. It started pretty much after being on this one or two days. I am a week in, and it's rather painful. They feel somewhat swollen."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "Please do not ever take this pill. After a lifetime of smooth, glowing skin, I suddenly had extremely severe cystic and hormonal acne and wildly textured skin that nothing seemed to help. I would have two-week periods and be left with barely any time to recover in between them. I was constantly so mean and moody that everybody around me would have to walk on eggshells. I lived through an actual nightmare for three years until I quit Cryselle. After stopping the pill, I literally feel amazing."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "I've tried many birth controls, probably about eight, but this one stands out in my memory as the worst just because of the side effects. I will say I can appreciate a short period, four days I believe? I was on this pill for only a month a while back, but if I recall correctly that was the month I reached my highest weight ever, gaining ten pounds. I got rather irritable and was glad when I switched to Quartette and apologized for snapping at people :)"

"I'm only 17 and had to start taking birth control pills because I had cysts in my ovaries that started bleeding so severely, it caused me to be hospitalized for a week and needed transfusions. I still had spotting after I was discharged, but once I finally started taking these pills (insurance issues), the bleeding stopped altogether. I have had no weight gain, and my skin has cleared up so much. I would recommend this pill to anyone."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "I used to take Cryselle and loved it. Always knew when my period was coming, super light periods for 4 days. I was without insurance for a while, so had to stop. Now I’m back on it but the generic brand. OMG, horrible!!!! My first period was so heavy that I had to use super tampons every 2 hours. Since then (2 months now), I have had breakthrough bleeding every single day. Sometimes it’s more heavy bleeding, but it’s usually just when I wipe. I also pass small clots and bloody tissue. It’s been absolutely horrible. I’m going to have to find a pharmacy that carries actual Cryselle."

"I find that I sweat a lot when taking this birth control, as well as facial hair. Lately, I have noticed that I have been getting blemishes on my face. Will be discussing this with the doctor."

"Migraine ratio increased. Bleeding stopped and started, no rhythm to it at all. Not overly effective in this particular case."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "When I first started taking it, I had no problems. After a break, I started taking it again, and I’ve started bleeding for a very long time - 11 days. My cycle is usually 5 days."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel "My review may not be fair since it's only been about a week that I have been on Cryselle (ethinyl estradiol 0.030 mg and norgestrel 0.30 mg). I had been on Minastrin 24 FE (ethinyl estradiol 0.020 mg and norethindrone acetate 1 mg) for years, and they recently discontinued it. I started Cryselle, and I have had a migraine every single day since then. My migraines cause nausea, and I feel horrible. My doctor wants me to give it 3 months before we make a decision on whether to keep taking it or not. Hopefully, it will help with bleeding. When Minastrin 24 FE was first discontinued, I was put on Blisovi (the generic of Minastrin 24 FE), which did nothing for me for 3 months. I bled for 3 weeks straight taking Blisovi."
