For Birth Control "I've been on this for about a month now. I'm 25, and my sex drive is almost completely gone. I started it before my period, so my doctor said that my period would be late. I was fine with that. It wasn't late, I started out with spotting and then what was like a normal flow. I'm now going on almost 2 weeks of bleeding. I hardly ever get cramps, and on this, it's pretty much cramps so often that I want to double over in pain. I get lightheaded and dizzy, nausea, my mood swings are crazy. I go from happy to crying or angry for no reason. I noticed my breasts have been tender. My feet and hands have swelling issues to the point where it hurts to walk or grab anything. I'm on the placebo part of my first pack, so I'm hoping the side effects go away."

For Birth Control "I love this brand of birth control! I started taking this brand about 3 1/2 years ago, and it’s helped so much. During that time, I did switch to a different brand to try something else, and it was the worst decision, so I switched right back. My periods are so light and short, which is a plus. It helped clear my skin up right away, but recently it’s been a little worse (I blame that on stress). Only major complaint about the pill is a lack of sex drive. Highly recommend this for birth control."

For Acne "I started Tri-Sprintec in November 2013. The first month, I was extremely moody and had anger problems. After three months, my acne cleared up. It's been over a year, and I haven't seen a spot since! This is great; I also am very active. Some days, my sex drive is not there; usually, this happens the first week of the pack. So, for birth control purposes, I would rate this as a 10 as well. I've never had any problems and never had any pregnancy scares. My boyfriend noticed that I went up a cup in size. I didn't gain any weight really; I'm just 98 lbs, and the maximum I would be 100 lbs. I would recommend it to anyone who has acne problems. But wait 3-4 months for results."

For Birth Control "Cons: Experienced a significant increase in appetite, which led to lots of weight gain (I went from 115 lbs to 125 lbs after 6 months of use). I felt bloated all the time, and I felt like I looked 4 months pregnant. Also, I had no sex drive at all. Breast tenderness/pain was a problem too. Pros: I didn't get pregnant, my mood was pretty stable, my skin was clear, and periods were pretty light."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 3 years, I was always a Sun starter, but due to the pharm not having my meds in time, my doc had me start my new pack on a Tues. After starting on a Tues, I began to feel like I want to throw up all the time, and it will happen a week or 2 before my period. I was nervous all this time: anxiety, heart palpitations. I felt this feeling in my chest and stomach often that I can only describe as that feeling you get when something bad is about to happen, zero energy, low sex drive. I slept all the time, negative thoughts, depressed, lost weight, and had no appetite whatsoever. I noticed when I got on the white pills, I started to feel normal again. I will never, ever take those pills again. I thought I was going insane, I cried every day. I’d rather have a baby any day than to feel like that due to Sprintec. I was on Ortho Tri-Lo for years before taking that, and I can’t remember ever feeling like that."

For Ovarian Cysts "I was on Mononessa originally for about 2 years because I have ovarian cysts and endo. I was switched to Estarylla in January, and I've been taking it every day, as directed, since. I've had some really odd side effects that I had no idea were side effects until I read some of these reviews. My boobs are constantly tender and achy, I've been losing hair like you couldn't imagine, and recently I've been having some other (worse) issues that I haven't seen a lot of women talk about, so maybe it isn't the BC, but I've never had these issues before. My vagina is CONSTANTLY itchy and dry, and there is always a crazy amount of thick white discharge. Originally I thought it could've been a yeast infection or even PID, but literally, nothing has worked, and it's been about two months. Also, sex is extremely painful. Let me add that my skin is the best it's ever been since starting this brand. Nice skin does not make up for all of the other bad things that are happening because of this pill though."

For Birth Control "Overall, as a birth control, it did its job. My husband and I never used a backup birth control, and in the year and a half I was on it, I didn't get pregnant. The reason I'm only giving it an 8 is that around the time I was getting my period, I would go insane. Crying a lot... yelling, getting really angry for no reason. I had a low sex drive while I was taking it, but other than that, it got rid of my terrible cramps, and my acne cleared up a lot also. I just switched to Apri, so we will see how that goes."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for about 1 year and 8 months. I believe it has been horrible for me. My sex drive is down, which affects my husband's and my relationship. I have had this constant moodiness and roller coaster of emotions that I could not figure out where it was coming from until I started researching when it started and what could be causing it. My skin is clear, I don't have much weight gain, nor have I had a baby, but the side effects are too much for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for going on 2 years, and the longer I've been on it, the more I've noticed that my sex drive is beyond low. My fiancé and I used to have sex regularly, at least 2-3 times a week, and now it has gone down to once a month. Neither of us are okay with that, and I cannot help but wonder if it is from Sprintec. When I first started this pill, I thought it was great, and I have no other complaints other than the low sex drive. I am thinking about switching soon!"

For Birth Control "Terrible. Didn’t help with cramps, I had heavier periods and zero sex drive. The worst is the anxiety and anger associated with it. My fiancé and I just split up over these pills due to my mood swings and upset. I wouldn’t take them ever again. Too many reviews say the same thing...the pills are the common denominator!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for a year and a half. I have been on one other birth control previous to this. But with Sprintec, I can always count on my period being the same time every month down to the day. It is also a very mild period, and my cramps are about the same as they were. I also have a clear complexion. My complaints with this birth control would have to be the constant headaches, and my sex drive has decreased quite a bit. I have also been sleep deprived at night and excessively sleeping during the day. My boyfriend also says that he has seen a difference in my mood since I have started this particular birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about seven months. I was originally on Depo-Provera shots, which stopped my normally sporadic and horrific periods completely but left me gaining weight dangerously fast and killed my sex drive completely. Sprintec doesn't seem to have any of the side effects of Depo. My periods are light and on time exactly every 28 days, lasting 3 or four days tops, my skin is flawless, and although I do have some light mood changes accompanying PMS (which is something over the Depo, which seemed to completely rob me of all emotion), it's so inexpensive, I would and often do highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "Within the first couple of weeks of taking it, I started to notice a spike in my anxiety. I thought my body just needed a little more time to adjust. As I continued, I became much more irritable continuously, and my sex drive completely disappeared. My periods were all over the place. And suddenly all I wanted to do was stay home. Plus, I started to obsess and have meltdowns over things that completely didn’t matter. Once I stopped taking it, within a week my mood and everything was back to normal. I highly don’t recommend this medicine."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 3 months, and I have suffered every side effect. The only reason I continue to take it is because of the low hormone levels. I have headaches with neurological symptoms, a change in appetite, my breasts were enlarged for 2 months, then went down to normal size. I'm also suffering from depression, and I lost my sex drive, as well as I can't climax. My skin looks better."

For Birth Control "I didn't even realize everything I was experiencing was caused by the Femynor pill until I made a doctor's appointment to discuss random changes in my body and remembered I started taking this pill 4 months ago. (Somewhere in between, I got mad at my boyfriend and broke up with him - not sure if it's related.) It took about a month or two for it to regulate my period, and it did a good job doing that. My period is now super short and the lightest it has ever been, BUT: I have terrible headaches, to the point of feeling weak and nauseous. I've been getting a pimple here and there, but I've never had acne in my life. I've also been super tired and lost all energy. And the worst part, crazy weight gain!!! I've always been very thin (used to try very hard to gain weight in my teenage years and early twenties), and suddenly my clothes don't fit and I'm visibly bigger, and that's with me making a conscious effort to eat less and count my calories. Also, absolutely no sex drive. Getting off of this ASAP!"

For Birth Control "Tri-Sprintec was the first birth control I ever took. I was 17 years old, and I took it until I was 19. Tri-Sprintec caused me the worst years of my life. I was so depressed to the point where I could barely get out of bed sometimes. I got to a point where life was too much. I cried almost every day for the last 2 months on this pill until I couldn’t take it anymore! I went to the doctor, and she told me, surprisingly, that everything I was feeling was common taking Tri-Sprintec! She immediately switched me over to “Sprintec,” and I have not been having issues with my hormones at all. The only thing I hate about this pill is that it takes away my sex drive. I literally never get “in the mood” anymore, and it sucks. I don’t even remember the last time I was horny... but I guess you have to give to receive."

For Birth Control "First off, let me disclaim that while I rated this a ten in effectiveness, that doesn't mean it was all great. It obliterated my sex drive. A few months into using it, I was completely uninterested in being with my partner. Sex was actually painful. I've been off it for about three weeks now, and I'm back in full swing. I haven't gotten pregnant while using this without a condom, etc. So while it was effective, it was kind of useless for preventing pregnancy since I never wanted sex while on it anyway. I went on it initially for period cramps. My periods would last 2-4 weeks at a time and were awful. So painful. This brought them down to 1-1.5 weeks with what I am assuming to be normal cramping. I could function during my cycles on this."

For Birth Control "This pill has been effective as far as controlling any pregnancy, but since I have been taking it, my sex drive has lessened, and I've become moody more often. I feel mildly depressed most days and don't have much interest in anything at all. However, I have always been a very motivated person, so I have tried my best to still work myself out at the gym and do things I love. I feel more negative about things than positive. I am about to get off the pill and just give my body a break from any added hormones!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I was diagnosed with PCOS and was told that my uterine wall was thickening. My periods became abnormal, so my uterus was not shedding its wall the way it's supposed to every month. My doctor put me on Estarylla to clear the cysts. Six months later, my follow-up showed no more cysts and the uterine wall was normal. She suggested staying on the pill for three more months, but I decided to stay on it longer for the birth control effect. This pill worked effectively in ridding my cysts. The side effects weren't too bad: loss of weight, but I always lose weight with birth control pills, little to no sex drive, maybe a little moody, but I can't really say because, at the time, my family was going through changes-everyone was stressed and moody, even my five-year-old. Overall, it did its job, which was to reduce or clear my cysts and thin out my uterine wall. Side effects? Not too bad. I've had worse with other BC pills. This is only my personal experience. Everyone's body reacts differently."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for a month. I took a break from birth control pills for a year as I was on Ortho Tri cycling for three years prior. These haven't been that bad. I hesitated to start these because of the reviews, but so far it isn't that bad. I've had zero side effects except for sore breasts, like really sore breasts. This usually goes away after the first few weeks, though, so I'm not worried about it. One downside of these pills is that it kills your sex drive."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended this to me since I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo before, and after having a child, it no longer worked as well for me and began to cause cystic acne on my chin. She said Tri-Sprintec is the generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and works similarly to your natural body's hormone process. Since I started it, each month my skin has gotten clearer, and the PMS mood swings before my period are getting better. I was definitely more moody after I started taking this birth control. The biggest thing I've noticed is a lack of sexual drive, but my skin's clear, little weight gain, and no hair loss. So I'm sticking with it."

For Birth Control "I was on this BC for two and a half months before I decided to stop. This was not my first BC, and previously I had no issues with BC. The first month was okay, but around the second month, I started having terrible nausea at nighttime. To the point where I wasn't able to leave the house. I also had an extremely decreased libido. Went from having sex daily to maybe once a week. No change in weight or appetite other than not wanting to eat because of the nausea. I have now been off of Tri-Sprintec for about a week and haven't had any nighttime nausea at all. Every BC affects everyone differently, but this was not the one for me."

For Birth Control "I had been on Tri-Sprintec for about a year and a half to prevent pregnancy. A few months after starting to take it, I began to gain weight and became severely depressed. I would cry at every little thing, and my period cramps were worse than they were before. I couldn't sleep and had no sex drive. It didn't even occur to me that these changes were due to my birth control until I finally went to the doctor, who told me that sounds like symptoms of Tri-Sprintec. I just got an IUD placed, and I have never felt better, I have my personality back."
