For Ovarian Cysts "I have been on and off Previfem for about 6 years. My OBGYN started me on it after very irregular and heavy periods along with a diagnosis of PCOS. While on them, I noticed that I was very numb to emotions and found myself very depressed. The moment I stopped these pills, I found a whole new side of joy and sex drive in my life. I am still on the lookout for a better birth control method, but I do not recommend hormonal birth controls anymore, especially this one. I have always struggled with my weight (side effect of PCOS), so I cannot say that this pill made me gain or lose any weight. My skin has gotten progressively clearer over the years, but I did start the pill when I was 18 - hard to say if it was natural hormonal changes or the pill."

For Birth Control "My pharmacist changed my birth control from Tri-Sprintec to this and told me it was the same thing. I do not like this birth control at all. The first month I was on it broke me out so much, the second month I bled for 15 days straight, and the third month it made my mood TERRIBLE. The only reason I’m still on it is because they gave me a 3-month supply. After I finish this pack, I will be changing back to Tri-Sprintec."

For Birth Control "This was the first BC I was put on. Bled continuously for 6 months. My OB/GYN prescribed it to take so my periods would stop, so 6 months of that was enough. I also have migraines, which I take Topamax to prevent, but with the Previfem, they were coming nearly every other day. Extreme nausea and regular vomiting were also lovely side effects I experienced. I switched to Gildess or Junel, depending on which the pharmacy had in, and they were both a dream. None of these symptoms except for occasional nausea, so I took it at night to remedy that. Gildess and Junel are also used to regulate hormonal migraine headaches, and they both helped tremendously. I just got the Nexplanon, but will go back to Gildess/Junel if I don't do well with it."

For Birth Control "This has been the first birth control method that I haven't had a poor reaction to. My moods have been regular, and I've experienced no abnormal bleeding. My breasts have gotten a bit larger, which is nice, but they are somewhat sore. Also, I've gotten a few stray pimples, but nothing too concerning. Overall, this has been a great option for me, and I would recommend it to anyone seeking a new form of birth control."

For Birth Control "Before I started taking this, I was on Gildess for about 2-3 years. My periods became so much lighter, and it just made my skin that much better! I did gain a lot of weight with Gildess in the beginning, but it soon shed off after a month or so. I ended up coming off of birth control (worst mistake of my life! I got post-birth control acne at its very worst!). Anywho, I went back to the doc, and she prescribed me Previfem... I've been on Previfem for a little under a year, and I flipping hate it!! First of all, weight gain wasn't a problem, but my acne is not under control at all. She said it was supposed to clear up my skin, and it has yet to do anything! The best thing about it is no babies. Do not use this!"

For Birth Control "I work at a pharmacy, and I get my prescriptions filled there as well. However, my pharmacists constantly switch me between Sprintec and Previfem, and I know they're virtually the same thing. However, yet again, every time I get put on Previfem, my breasts get very sore by the second week of the pack, I get more acne flare-ups, and tend to feel just unwell. It does its job, but I am just miserable on the stuff. I'm having trouble understanding why, if it's all the same ingredients, why is it making my body feel so different."

For Birth Control "Overall, this pill got rid of my acne. I’ve had severe acne since I was 12, and I’m 18 now. HOWEVER, the first month I was on this pill, I acquired a huge boil on my hip, but I brushed it off, thinking it was just a fluke thing... nope! I’m on month 2, and I’ve now had one on my face and four on my legs. Also, my mood swings are outrageous."

For Birth Control "I used to take Mononessa, but it's discontinued, so I'm on Previfem. On Previfem, I crave food ALL THE TIME. My period is thicker/clottier than before. I have itching, extreme bloating, upset stomach, frequent nausea, etc. I don't have acne breakouts, so I cannot comment on if it helps with those, but my skin is drier than usual. My mood swings are fierce. I've been on this medication for over 6 months, and I feel depressed, then angry as anything, then get sad, and then go numb. I had mood swings during my first 3 months on Mononessa and then never again. I have also experienced dryness during sex and extreme drops in libido. In general, avoid this train wreck if you can. If you're going to try this because your insurance pays for it, only give it a three-month trial MAX (unless the side effects are just too drastic). If after 3 months the side effects haven't subsided, quit and try something else. I mean, I didn't get pregnant, but also I have next to no sex drive, so..."

For Birth Control "This has been the worst birth control pill I’ve ever taken. I was on Sprintec since this year had started and recently started taking Previfem (3 months ago) and had not stopped bleeding, mood swings are horrible, and makes you very bloated and gassy, and I would not recommend this pill to anybody!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was put on Previfem for PCOS when I was 14. Within almost a month of using it, I went from having 1 or 2 periods a year to bleeding so heavily that I could fill and leak out of a super plus Tampax tampon in 4 to 5 hours."

"The only side effect I received from this BC is hypoglycemia. This started happening a couple of weeks after taking it. At first, it would happen after I went running, but then it started happening randomly without working out. And it was a SUDDEN drop, so there wasn't a way to prevent it. Once I thought about what changed and narrowed it down to when I started my BCs, I stopped taking them immediately (1 yr later). After about 4 days, I went running and didn't experience hypoglycemia at all. From that point on, I was hypoglycemic free. I don't think anyone knows about this side effect, which is unfortunate. Just some background: I was 34, am a black female, and wasn't on any other medication."

For Ovarian Cysts "I had my left ovary removed in September of 2015 because of a 10 cm cyst that was twisting my ovary, cutting off blood supply. After my surgery, they put me on birth control immediately to prevent another cyst from growing on my other ovary. Previfem has been working well for me, the only symptoms I have had have been fatigue, a little bit of weight gain (about 5 pounds), and some mood swings. Other than that, I have not had any problems. My period is shorter, lighter, and I no longer get cramps like I used to. Overall, my experience with this birth control has been great."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I bled for 7 weeks out of 2.5 months on Previfem. I also gained 7 pounds. I'd lose half of it during the placebo week, but it came back when I started the active pills again. I threw out my 3rd pack halfway through the active pills. It's been 4 days, and I'm 0.3 pounds short of my old, happy weight. Granted, it was probably just water weight, but my self-esteem really is affected by my weight."

For Birth Control "I have now been on my period for 11 weeks. I give up with it and will be switching. I have had headaches almost every day, and I have gained a lot of weight. I was prescribed Prozac about the same time I started this birth control, but after reading the reviews, I think my symptoms are from this birth control rather than the Prozac. Anyway, a period for 11 weeks would make any woman run away. This was an awful experience."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am not sure how I feel about this birth control yet. The first month I started, my withdrawal bleed came the 4th day of my placebo pills. The second month was about the same. Every month I have experienced some sort of breakthrough bleeding. By my third month, I started spotting about 5 days before my placebo pills and bled all the way through my placebo week. I am now in my 4th pack, and I started spotting 3 days before my placebo pack and just took my 2nd placebo pill today, no real withdrawal bleed yet. This is the only form of contraception I am using. Has anyone else experienced this, and should I be worried? I feel like my withdrawal bleed should start anytime because I am having some cramping."

For Ovarian Cysts "Stay away from this brand. I know everybody is different, but I've seen more negative reviews of this pill than I would be comfortable with, and I have to agree. I was on Previfem for a while a little more than a year ago, and I had just about the worst side effects you could have. It seemed fine at first, but for months, I would be woken up early every morning feeling so feverish that I thought my head was going to explode. This was also accompanied by extreme nausea, sometimes even vomiting. I had been off of it for a while, but I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I thought I was being prescribed a different brand this time, given my history, but to my horror, this is the brand the pharmacy gave me. I was desperate for something to help with my PCOS complications, so I figured I would just try again and see what happened. Here we are on day three, and all of a sudden the same symptoms I had a year ago are coming back. I am never taking this again."

For Birth Control "I started taking Previfem about 4 months ago (I've been on it for about a month), and it was pretty awful. At the beginning, my acne got worse, and I wanted to eat everything. I actually thought that I was pregnant because of my mood swings and the fact that I gained 10 pounds. After the 2nd month, my acne totally cleared up, but I was still gaining weight. When I went to the doctor for a check-up, he noticed I was a bit heavier, and that's when I got off it. It also made my face really fat."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was never taken BC before, but I would say that this particular one suits me quite well. Before I took it, I had an extremely irregular cycle, where I could go two or three months without having a period. Also, I experienced pain and fainted from it. This BC has helped me with those inconveniences; also, I do not break out with pimples. I haven't tried another brand of BC, but it seems to work just fine for me."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have only been on this BC for 2 weeks. The day I started it, I've had constant headaches to the point where I can't even tolerate being awake. I'm forced to take naps during the pain. My mood is off the charts, even as I'm typing this. Oh yeah, my skin -- terrible. I had no problem with acne before this pill. The last BC I was on (the dial, and the patch -- oh how I loved the patch -- my provider doesn't offer it anymore), but yes, this BC has been a pain since day one. Also, I get frequent sharp pains in my lower abdomen. The only reason I am still taking it is because I am hoping the side effects stop, and I have an appointment with my doc next week. I gave it a 2 because since being on it, I have not gotten pregnant, but I've also not had sex due."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for almost a year, and the first three months my period was not regulated. After that, my period was regulated, but I would spot three days before I had my period. I had no symptoms, but after about six to seven months, I noticed that my boobs would be tender almost all the time and that my appetite increased. I would be full after eating about two to three plates of food, then like 30 minutes to an hour later, I would be hungry again. I gained weight, maybe like five to eight pounds over six months. It works, and I really don't have a problem with the symptoms because I now got used to it, and my sex drive has actually increased."

For Birth Control "I really don't like this pill. I was on it for about two months in a desperate attempt to change my period so I wouldn't get it on my wedding night. I visited the porcelain gods about 2-3 times a week at 2 AM (it was recommended I take this before bed with a little snack, which I'd done for years with a different birth control). No matter what I did, my stomach would become upset. After two months, I decided there was no way sex could be worth a constant upset stomach, and I stopped taking this. Best decision ever. Now I'm on Lo Loestrin Fe and I've had no problems."

For Birth Control "I see a lot of negative reviews on this, but Tri-Prev is the only birth control that has ever worked for me. I started it at 21 to regulate my periods because my testosterone levels were too high and my periods were very inconsistent (I was diagnosed with PCOS). I have been on it ever since. Just this year at 30, I'm having to switch because I've begun to breakthrough bleed. I stayed on this for so long because I always had glowing skin, never felt bloated or gained weight, and it really leveled my mood. I feel lucky to have had such a good run. Super sad I am having to start my search again for a new one. Having had such an amazing experience, I think it's definitely worth a try, you never know what will work for you!"

For Birth Control "I'm not sure about this birth control quite yet. I was on Trinessa back in November or so, and it worked fantastically for me, cleared up my acne, no nausea or any other side effects. Then I got really sick and had to stop taking the pill for a month or two, and when I tried to get back on it, I had continuous discharge for over 5 months, so I decided to switch to the shot, but didn't like it, so here I am. When I started, I felt nauseous all the time, my boobs hurt, stomach pains and cramps, and worst of all my acne. I never used to get cystic acne, but now I get it all over my mouth, chin, forehead, and under my nose, I hate it. I keep reading reviews, and it's freaking me out. I'm not sure if I should continue taking this or not for 2 or 3 months."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This pill has been absolutely amazing. I can truly say that I have had no problems with it. It definitely does its job and does it well. My oily skin has cleared, and I have actually lost weight! I am eating less, and it's great. I would definitely recommend this oral contraception for anyone who has had it rough with other pills! I do get my period every month, so I am thinking about switching to one that I won't get it, but other than that, I love this pill!"

For Birth Control "Literally started this birth control 3 days ago, and I missed 1 day of classes from feeling extremely nauseous, and went to school the next day, and as soon as I got there, felt so nauseous, I threw up and got sent home. I used to be on pills but not this kind, then stopped birth control altogether for about 2 months. Tried the patch, and when I would take it off, it would leave little itchy bumps on my skin. Then was going to give the Depo shot a try and decided not to due to all the side effects I’ve heard about and the fact that I hate needles. This was my next option, and it literally has been the WORST feeling 3 days of my life. I will be getting off these pills very soon."
