"Well, I was on Mononessa, which was fine for a first birth control. It didn't give me side effects, which was impressive! Now, they gave me these birth control pills, Previfem, because Mononessa was discontinued, and now, after being on it for a week, here come the side effects! The spotting and no sleep! Ugh."

"This pill is amazing. I was prescribed it for PCOS and as birth control. After having a terrible experience with the NuvaRing, I was nervous to try any other form of birth control. While the first 3 months were rough in terms of moodiness and mild acne, it all seemed to have leveled out, and I couldn't be happier. No decrease in libido (probably has increased, actually), no weight gain (I've actually lost 15 lbs since I started, but I've been dieting too), increased breast size (~1/2 cup), regular periods with significantly decreased flow and decreased cramping. Hardly any acne ever now, and my PMS seems ton better. Everyone is different, but this pill seems like magic to me!"

"Like many others on here, I was switched to Previfem from Sprintec because my pharmacy stopped stocking it. I was not notified of this prior to pickup. Since then, I've had unpredictable and prolonged periods outside of anything resembling a normal menstrual cycle, and significantly decreased libido and sensitivity. I've now been on this for well over three months and have seen no improvement in these symptoms. I also experienced intense nervousness, tingling sensations, and anxiety on the first day of the pill switch, but that dissipated in three hours or so. The takeaway: if your pharmacy switches you from a birth control you know works well with your body, call and either request that they order more or take your business elsewhere. If you need help finding one, try asking your doctor. You deserve better. Love you all, and take care of yourselves!"

"I was put on Previfem for PCOS when I was 14. Within almost a month of using it, I went from having 1 or 2 periods a year to bleeding so heavily that I could fill and leak out of a super plus Tampax tampon in 4 to 5 hours."

"I bled for 7 weeks out of 2.5 months on Previfem. I also gained 7 pounds. I'd lose half of it during the placebo week, but it came back when I started the active pills again. I threw out my 3rd pack halfway through the active pills. It's been 4 days, and I'm 0.3 pounds short of my old, happy weight. Granted, it was probably just water weight, but my self-esteem really is affected by my weight."

"I am not sure how I feel about this birth control yet. The first month I started, my withdrawal bleed came the 4th day of my placebo pills. The second month was about the same. Every month I have experienced some sort of breakthrough bleeding. By my third month, I started spotting about 5 days before my placebo pills and bled all the way through my placebo week. I am now in my 4th pack, and I started spotting 3 days before my placebo pack and just took my 2nd placebo pill today, no real withdrawal bleed yet. This is the only form of contraception I am using. Has anyone else experienced this, and should I be worried? I feel like my withdrawal bleed should start anytime because I am having some cramping."

"I was never taken BC before, but I would say that this particular one suits me quite well. Before I took it, I had an extremely irregular cycle, where I could go two or three months without having a period. Also, I experienced pain and fainted from it. This BC has helped me with those inconveniences; also, I do not break out with pimples. I haven't tried another brand of BC, but it seems to work just fine for me."

"I have only been on this BC for 2 weeks. The day I started it, I've had constant headaches to the point where I can't even tolerate being awake. I'm forced to take naps during the pain. My mood is off the charts, even as I'm typing this. Oh yeah, my skin -- terrible. I had no problem with acne before this pill. The last BC I was on (the dial, and the patch -- oh how I loved the patch -- my provider doesn't offer it anymore), but yes, this BC has been a pain since day one. Also, I get frequent sharp pains in my lower abdomen. The only reason I am still taking it is because I am hoping the side effects stop, and I have an appointment with my doc next week. I gave it a 2 because since being on it, I have not gotten pregnant, but I've also not had sex due."

"This pill has been absolutely amazing. I can truly say that I have had no problems with it. It definitely does its job and does it well. My oily skin has cleared, and I have actually lost weight! I am eating less, and it's great. I would definitely recommend this oral contraception for anyone who has had it rough with other pills! I do get my period every month, so I am thinking about switching to one that I won't get it, but other than that, I love this pill!"

"I took Previfem from August '16 to October '17 for heavy periods and bad cramping. The first month, it made me break out like crazy on my forehead, but that cleared up rather quickly into the second month. It made my periods much lighter and eliminated my cramping altogether. By the summer of 2017, I had a major shift in my lifestyle. I was no longer in college, where I was on the crew team for three years, and a new job had started up. With the shift in my lifestyle, my periods became incredibly heavy. Still no cramping, but I was bleeding through super plus tampons after 6 hours. I know it was due to the stressors in my life and my lack of exercise, but my doctor and I have decided to switch over to something that is better equipped for my lifestyle."
