For Birth Control "I love my birth control! I have been taking Microgestin for 4 years. Since taking it, my crippling periods have reduced from 1.5 weeks of pain to 4 days of controllable discomfort. I did not gain weight, but my breasts and butt did increase in size. It also did not make my acne any better or worse, which to me is acceptable. I will say I was on Microgestin Fe 1/20 at first, which didn't allow me to skip periods even if I followed the rules to plan a month ahead. I switched to the higher dose Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 to be able to do so, but with this one, I can skip periods simply by continuing to take the active pills without the month-ahead preparation. I don't know if this would work for other girls, as my period has always been irregular and super finicky. Anyway, this pill has worked great for me."

For Birth Control "This was the best birth control I was on. My skin cleared, mental health remained stable, and no breakthrough bleeding. When I first started to take it, I was anxious and would get nauseous at night, but that went away. My period only lasted 1 full day with 1 light day. It started on Friday and was gone by Sunday. I switched to Junel 1.5/30 because of insurance, and it was horrible."

For Birth Control "I've heard a mixture of both bad and good things about Microgestin 1.5/30 birth control, but personally, this isn't the one for me. On the second month of taking this birth control, I experienced some spotting. It wasn't too bad at first, I was okay, but then it started to get worse-heavy bleeding where I would go through pads and tampons in less than an hour. I had cramps, and this lasted for 2 weeks. I felt weak from losing so much blood, and I had headaches a lot as well. I don't recommend this pill at all, but it may work for others."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was switched to Microgestin last May after years on Yaz. I have extremely heavy bleeding/pain/fatigue that lasted 21+ days with 1 week break, then repeat. Yaz stopped my periods for years, but they started again, so I switched. Microgestin seemed like overkill, but it has stopped the bleeding, and I was instructed to skip the placebos. I have gained 15 lbs that won't budge, but as I've never been overweight, the doctor dismissed this concern. Mood-wise, I’ve always been laid-back, but I find that it’s easier to become overwhelmed. However, I have more to worry about in general, so I cannot solely attribute anxiety to it. Overall, it’s doing what I need it to do, but as I continue to sort out my lady problems, I would like to back down."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 3 months. At first, I broke out everywhere horribly and was extremely moody and emotional. I haven't noticed any weight gain, and I do like it a lot better now. I used to have a pretty clear face, except around my period, I would break out, and the birth control hasn't made it any worse or better in three months. I have never taken any other type of birth control, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it works well enough for me!"

For Birth Control "I take birth control pills as a way to calm and treat my cramps during periods. I noticed an instant improvement my first month: lighter bleeding and half as painful cramps. As time went on, I noticed I had a rhythm of sorts and had a painful (but still less painful than before birth control pills) period once every three months. At the end of a year of taking them, I had a week off of pills and noticed my headache was gone, so I switched to Zovia at my doc's recommendation. I liked my Microgestin, though. A little bit of weight gain, cleared my acne, lighter bleeding, and less cramps."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this Microgestin 1.5/30 for 2 years now, and it’s been amazing! It took a bit for my period to come around to adjusting to the cycle, BUT it wasn’t nearly as painful. Even after the first 2 months, I remember being able to actually walk while I had my period. To this day, it's been amazing. They’re about 2-5 days long now, with light to medium bleeding (medium for me is a super instead of a regular tampon that was needed). It’s great, I highly recommend it. Didn’t mess with my emotions, haven’t noticed any weight gain, if anything, I’ve been losing weight! I’ll say it takes a minute for your period to come around, it took me 7 months to get a steady cycle finally. If I mess it up though and skip by accident, I’ll get my period in about 3-5 days normally, and I’ll feel a little extra on the cramp side."
