For Birth Control "So I totally agree with some of the comments below. I've been on Seasonique since grade 9 (in my second year of college as of Sept 2015). I'm not gonna say why, but I will say that it was definitely great in the beginning. Periods became regular, I had my period for about 5 days, which I find healthy in my opinion since I don't get it for 3 months, and it has cleared up my face from acne and pimples. As of this year, I have noticed that the pill isn't working as it should. During the last week or 2 before the yellow pills or 'period pills,' I get constant on and off spotting. Then, during the week of my period pills, I don't get my period until the last few days. Usually Wed to Fri if following the actual week. Been taking it for 5 yrs now."

For Birth Control "This is the only birth control that has ever gotten my cycle regulated for a long period of time. Usually, I will switch medicines only to have it regulated for 3-4 months, then everything goes haywire again. With Lutera, I have no breakthrough bleeding or spotting, no headaches or body aches, and no weight gain. I love this birth control. Before I was on this, I was very anemic from an abnormal period (bleeding 2-3 weeks out of the month), but now I don't even have to take my iron supplement. Also, I am not pregnant, so it works there, too, which is good."

For Birth Control "It's birth control, and I feel with every birth control I have had, I have similar side effects - low sex drive, about 10 pounds weight gain that WILL NOT go away (workout 6 days a week & eat paleo). But it works in controlling my endometriosis pain, and my periods only last about 4-5 days. If you start spotting, stop taking the pill and have a period! That's how you get it to stop. I have been taking this for 10 years, and I take it at the same time and still have spotting, but that's just what happens when you try to tell your body to stop a natural process. If you have endometriosis, I recommend this pill, OTHERWISE, get a regular 1-month pill, which will give you less side effects while still working at a method of contraceptive."

For Birth Control "At first, I hated this pill but had a 3-month supply. In the first 2 months, I had spotting all the time, crazy mood swings, intense cravings, and cramps around PMS time and was losing a dramatic amount of hair. On the bright side, my acne was non-existent and I noticed weight loss. By the 3rd month, I feel most symptoms cleared."

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for almost three months now. The first month and a half, it was perfect, then I missed it for three days when I misplaced it and began spotting. I want to try to have my period and then get back on it and take it on time this time. It kept my skin clear. My breast size increased close to a full cup size, and I didn't have much weight gain. My sex drive was not lost at all. If anything, it increased."

For Birth Control "Have been on Lybrel for 1 year now and get periods, breakthrough bleeding, spotting, and cramps. I used to have a normal 28-day cycle, and my period was 5 days, it was very regimented. Now I have periods randomly that last 7 to 10 days. I was hoping to stop my periods, but this obviously does not work for me."

For Birth Control "I do not recommend this pill. I’m officially getting off it today. I have had nothing but issues with it. The first three months, I was experiencing “spotting,” although I’m not sure what they consider spotting because this was a lot. Then it ended for about 3 weeks, then spotting reoccurred. So I was told to go off the pill for a week to let my body do its thing and then go back on. Did that and was fine for about 3 weeks, and now I’m back to spotting. It’s like instead of getting my period once a month, it’s like I’m not getting my period once a month. Every 3 weeks, I get a break, and then it’s back to bleeding. It’s not fair, and it’s not something I recommend."

For Birth Control "When I started Jolessa, I had been on the Depo Provera shot for almost two years. While on Depo, I gained 30 lbs, and I experienced every side effect. When I switched to Jolessa, I didn't experience spotting, and my weight plateaued. I am very pleased with Jolessa, and I love that my periods are only every three months, also that they are only heavy for three days. I know I keep water weight given that I am on birth control, but that's the only negative thing I have to say about Jolessa!"

For Birth Control "An incredible birth control. Do not be turned off by people saying they bled or spotted for weeks or months - this is only because it must be started at a specific point in your cycle. It stopped my period for three months without any spotting until it was finally due. My only complaint is that the bleeding lasted a few days longer than usual, but that is it. I didn't even experience the horrible cramps I previously did. An excellent birth control I recommend for both regulating/stopping your period and as actual birth control."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control so far! I've been on it for 2 months. I spotted on and off for the first 3 weeks. I just used a Poise pantyliner and was fine. I have had slight acne, but I wash and use Bentonite clay 3 times a week. I've heard of excessive spotting, you have to take it at the same time every day. I take it at 7 pm like clockwork, sometimes 6:30. Take it at night."

For Birth Control "Started taking Camrese to combat PMS-related anxiety, and it totally leveled me out. Now I take it for contraceptive purposes, and it has worked great. I gained 20 lbs the first time on it, went off, lost some of the weight, went back on it, and haven't gained since. No spotting after the first pack, once my body was regulated. The dose of constant hormones really helped me feel in control and normal again."

For Birth Control "I took the Amethyst birth control pill after I finished my period. Everything was fine for like a month, I started spotting and basically still getting my period every month (it was very light), but my doctor said it was normal since it takes three months for my body to adjust. I waited for around four months, then got my period again and bled for nine weeks! I take birth control to get a break from my heavy flow. I can’t imagine what it would be like using it for actual birth control, you wouldn’t even be able to have sex."

For Birth Control "This garbage has completely destroyed my system. PLEASE seek a replacement if you start feeling off! This garbage has changed who I am mentally and physically. I was “giving it a chance” for my body to adjust, but it has put me into insane bouts of depression and uncontrollable mood swings (as in bawling my eyes out and then rage screaming the next). I’ve gained weight, have acne, a yeast infection, spotting, etc. This “birth control” pill is DANGEROUS."

For Birth Control "I am a 48-year-old athlete with little body fat. I have not had a period for 4 years. Recently my hair began thinning, and sex has been very painful. My doc suggested that I have blood tests to determine whether or not I was in menopause. The tests showed that my estrogen was low, so he prescribed me Aviane. This pill has been my miracle drug. My hair stopped falling out, sex is no longer painful, and I feel happy all the time. No issues except for very light spotting while taking the hormonal pills. I did call my doc to ask if this was normal, and he said that it was my body adjusting to the new hormone. I am very, very satisfied with the outcome!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Aubra for a little over a year, and I love it. It's had no real big issues with it. I've missed a pill or so here and there, but I always get my period, so it's doing its job pretty well. (: Only thing is, I would not try to skip your period with these. The one time I did, I spotted for two weeks straight."

For Birth Control "I am only on week 2 of Lutera, and I am stopping it. I know you should wait for the first few cycles to really get a feel for it, however, I cannot take the side effects anymore. Even after the first week in, I felt weird. My mood was so weird, I was all over the place. Crying for no reason, irrational thoughts, angry outbursts. Then I started having the weirdest cravings and nausea as bad as my morning sickness was. So bad that I went and bought a pregnancy test while I was spotting because I was convinced I was pregnant (negative). I haven’t been on it long enough to know if I would gain weight, but I can already tell by the way my appetite has been that I would have. Cramps and bloating with bleeding during week 2. BAD idea to use this form."

For Endometriosis "I've been on Seasonique for a few years, and I love it. Only four periods a year, and they are much lighter. I do have some spotting in between periods, but only four periods a year outweighs the occasional spotting. It has really helped me with my endometriosis. I rarely experience symptoms from the endometriosis, and when I do, they are usually milder. I would recommend Seasonique to everyone!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Seasonique made my face break out. I had a lot of spotting and abdominal cramps. I was prescribed Seasonique to regulate my periods, and it did the exact opposite! Since day one of starting this product, I have had to wear a pad because of the spotting."

For Birth Control "I've been on this 13-week birth control for 2 years now and have had no issues. My first pack did come with some irregular spotting, however, after my second pack, the spotting disappeared, and I have a regular period every 13 weeks as expected. I've gone through 3 other varieties of birth control that left me spotting no matter how long I took them, but this birth control actually works for me. I have very painful cramps and a heavy flow, but it has reduced the mere 4 periods that I do have a year to very light and painless ones. The only downside is my insurance doesn't cover it, and it's crazy expensive, but I'm at least happy it exists at all."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this for a month, and I was in horrible shape. Spotting, mood swings, headaches, chest pain, shortness of breath, weight gain, major cramps, and tummy gurgling. I was in a bad mood every day, and I couldn't be nice to my children. I stopped taking them, and it's like magic, all my symptoms disappeared. I'm so upset. My new doctor recommended this since they do not carry Chateal. I loved Chateal. It worked great! I wish my insurance carried these. Never will I take nor recommend this because."

For Birth Control "Horrible, horrible birth control! I took this to reduce my periods. I spotted the entire second month and then had the worst period of my life that lasted, so it was weeks. I ended up in the ER with anemia from all the blood loss. I would not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sronyx for over four years now. Even from the very beginning, I have not experienced any negative side effects, with one exception (spotting in between periods has happened three times before, but nothing major). I know birth control affects each woman differently. My personal experience with Sronyx has been a very positive one. I have had no mood swings, no cramps during my period, no heavy periods, no problems with weight/acne, and no changes in sex drive. I give it a nine out of ten only because of the occasional spotting in between periods."

For Endometriosis "I started this pill in September 2010 to help treat ovarian cysts and endometriosis. The first week I had nausea and tender breasts, but it went away after that. I had a lot of spotting and bleeding on and off for 2 or 3 weeks at a time for 4 months. It was annoying but better than the awful agony I used to go through every month, so I decided to keep taking it, as my doctor told me that spotting and bleeding is very common with this low of a dose of pill and that some people needed 3 months to a year for your body to adjust. Well, finally after 6 months it was worth the wait because no more spotting and bleeding, and best I have better energy, vitality, and quality of life having control over my horrible periods. It has changed my life!"

For Endometriosis "It is the best medicine ever invented! No issues, no pain, spotting, bleeding, no period, nothing. Tried every birth control, including Lupron Depot for endometriosis, nothing worked but this. I would pay full price and would not care. I pay $150, insurance pays the rest, but I have been pain-free for over 3 years, and I was diagnosed in 2000, and it is now 2013, you do the math, it took 10 years to be ok."

For Birth Control "The first 6-8 months on this pill were not fun. But if you talk to any doctor about this type of pill, they will all tell you the same thing: it can take up to a year for your body to adjust, and you MUST take it every day at the same time! I spotted a lot during the first few months, but after about 6-8 months, everything settled down. I now get a period every 3 months, and it's very, very light. All those reviews that only know what it's like the first few weeks need to either remove their review or stick it out because I am very happy with this pill now that I've been on it for over 2 years."
