For Birth Control "I tried Seasonique for a 3-month supply for birth control and also to control my periods. For the first month, I had no period, then all of a sudden, I bled for three months (full periods, not just spotting). But you may try it, and it may work for you because, as you know, no one woman's body is the same, so what happened to me may just be my case. If it works for you, congratulations."

For Birth Control "I'm actually surprised by all the negative reviews. I love this Seasonique for my birth control. I've been on it for almost 5 years now. I do remember when I first started taking it, I did have bleeding for almost 3-4 weeks. After that, I never had an issue, and now whenever I get my period, it is very light and only lasts 3 days. The only way this birth control could get better was if I didn't have to take it every day."

For Birth Control "I (23, 115 lbs., no kids) have been on Lutera since I was seventeen because it has been the only birth control pill that doesn't give me insane mood swings, heavy bleeding, and constant general discomfort. I was placed on this pill after going months having a continuous period on Yaz until I collapsed and lost consciousness from the fatigue and anemia I experienced. The only negative side effect I have had over the last six years on Lutera is occasional breast tenderness around my period. Aside from that, it has kept my skin clear, my hormones in check, and given me much more pleasant periods."

For Endometriosis "I was first given this birth control when I lived in the UK (under the name of Microgynon 30) for my severe endometriosis. I take a pill every night and do not take any inactive pills for the week you usually have your period. Since I take Levlen every night, I have stopped my period and no longer have one. Bliss! I have no more endo pain or any associated side effects. Even though I have been thrown into 'medically controlled menopause,' I have no menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and so on. For the first two months, I had breakthrough bleeding, but now going on 2 years, I have none. I have had a wonderful experience with this birth control, and it has completely made my endometriosis symptoms disappear."

For Birth Control "I took Seasonique for 7 years. I did get occasional breakthrough bleeding-maybe once a year; however, this was faint, a tiny amount of brown blood and not bothersome. This pill was wonderful for me in every way-no more crazy PMS mood swings, and very light periods, no cramping. I did not take it at the perfect time every day, and it did not lead to any problems. I only stopped taking it in August as we want to have a baby."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started to take the Seasonique as directed and did not make it past 10 days. My period, which normally lasted 5 days, is still going on for 3 weeks! I stopped on day 10 because the bleeding was awful. The point to take it was to have less period, not to bleed every day. 3 days after taking it, and I have never bled so heavily in all my 34 years of having a period. This stuff is awful!"

For Birth Control "I just switched to Altavera after trying other pills for the past year and suffering from weird side effects from each. I will say that for me, this has by far been the best one, and I wanted to write a review because I've seen so many bad reviews about this pill. I previously tried Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo, Yaz, and Lo Loestrin FE. I believe I have symptoms of PMDD, so I wanted a pill that will help with that. This is the end of my first month, but so far I have had no breakthrough bleeding at all, my face is slowly clearing up, and my hormones are much more even (no more sobbing over little things). My period was on time and normal for what I was experiencing prior to birth control. I did notice headaches, but so far so good! Hopefully, this helps."

For Birth Control "I came to the web to see if anyone else was experiencing what I was after taking this pill, and wow!! Ok, I'm not going crazy. Firstly, I've only been taking the pill for two weeks, and I've noticed constant bleeding, but after research, I have found that that is quite normal. So I'm OK with that. But I'm sitting here, 26 years old, with cystic acne, mood swings of a 13-year-old, constant drowsiness, weight gain, and headaches. This pill, according to my GP, was supposed to minimize pimples and stabilize my cycle. I won't be putting another pill into my body. The worst ever!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Been on Seasonique for just over 2 years. While getting periods only four times a year is great, it's never been a true reality for me. Out of the three months that are within a pack, the first two are great, but every time I hit the third month, I start spotting. But not even just a regular little bit of brown discharge. It starts like that for a few days, and about a week or so into that 3rd month, I begin getting very large clots. It resembles a light period almost, as if my entire uterine lining comes out in these clots. This lasts for a few weeks, all the way up until my last week of pills... which is when I'm supposed to get my period, which I don’t because I lost all the blood in the 2-3 weeks prior to that. This medication has also made me gradually gain 20 pounds since I first began it. I cannot wait until I get off this pill. 2 more weeks and then I will not be getting a refill. I have had enough. Do not recommend this medication."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva in September 2019. For the first month, I expected constant mood swings affecting me almost solely at night and abdominal soreness. After my first 3 weeks and skipping the placebos, I fell into a depression that was not pre-existing. This cost me personal relationships. Other symptoms included cramping, loss of appetite, headaches (not to mention 14 days of breakthrough bleeding). I didn’t get pregnant, though."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I wish I would have read these comments prior to my starting this pill. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!! I have been bleeding and passing EXTREMELY LARGE blood clots for 13 days. It started 2 days into my second pack. The pain is severe, almost mirroring labor pains, with abdominal contractions every time I pass a clot. I stopped the pill, and the bleeding continues to get worse. Avoid this pill like the plague!!"

For Birth Control "I have never been as miserable as I was on Vienva. I bled non-stop (which really defeated the purpose of being on it), I got acne, and my mental health took a beating. I could not stop crying, which not only made it impossible to get college work done, but was also an occupational hazard since I work with large unpredictable animals. I gave up on it after a month or so, but it’s messed up my hormones pretty good. My periods are less regular than they were before, and since I started it, I’ve gotten 2 yeast infections (which I had never gotten before). I strongly recommend against Vienva, especially if you have struggled with an eating disorder or depression. It caused a resurgence of body dysmorphia and made me so deeply depressed. I cannot stress how awful it was."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on the pill for a little over a month, and I'm stopping. I'm extremely anemic, and I asked my doc for this to help with my periods. They were getting increasingly heavy and painful and making my anemia worse. I started taking the generic of this pill, and in 1 month, gained 10 pounds. Then I started spotting and got a full-blown period month 1. This period is heavier than normal and has zapped me of all my energy. It has lasted 7 days of constant normal to heavy bleeding that doesn't seem like it's going to stop. The blood is still fresh bright red, so it doesn't look like it's stopping soon. Also, this week of bleeding has made me extremely emotional. I almost quit my job! I feel very angry, irritated, annoyed, and depressed."

For Ovarian Cysts "I really like this birth control pill. It has made a huge difference in my skin over the past few months. I have been on several different types of birth control pills in the past 11 years, and these are definitely the best I have taken. I did experience some spotting/breakthrough bleeding during the first pack, but the benefits overshadowed that by far. For Birth Control "I have been through the nightmare that is birth control for the last 2 years. I have tried 6 different BCs and had horrible side effects from all of them, including bipolar depression, mood swings, weight gain, hair loss, loss of sex drive, and horrible cramping. I was put on VIENVA 3 months ago and was nervous because of negative reviews. All was going well, my sex drive was back up (I’m 26 and in a happy, loving, long-term relationship!), but I ended my period a week ago, and 3 days ago, I started having some slight spotting. On the 2nd day, I started bleeding HEAVILY, and here we are on the 3rd, and I am still bleeding! I have never in my life had breakthrough bleeding, but this is like I’m having a 2nd period! Horrible cramps, full-on 2nd period of the month! I will be switching. Again, everything else was amazing about this pill. It made me feel normal again, high sex drive, no side effects, until this third month when I’ve been excessively bleeding even after my period."

If not, try something else because this is not worth it. I am now on week eight and still bleeding/spotting. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before starting this prescription. I hate it. For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for 9, almost 10 years. I take my pill every day at the same time, even if I have to take it in the middle of an outing. Forgetting to take the pill isn't an option for me. I've never had any major side effects, and on the rare occasion I have a little breakthrough bleeding, I take the pill with 1000mg of vitamin C (if you do the research, it increases the impact of the estrogen in the pill, therefore slowing and then effectively stopping the breakthrough bleeding). It usually takes 2 days, and it's over. Sometimes I take 2 packs continuously and don't have a period for 6 months, my OBGYN is fine with this. I say give it a try, take it at the same time every day!!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for many years now, however, I switched to Amethyst about nine months ago. My periods were so heavy and painful I needed them to stop completely. The first six months on this pill were great, no symptoms, no periods, no bleeding. However, I then started to have spotting and bleeding, and I have been bleeding every day for about three months. This is super inconvenient because I have been going through hygiene products like crazy and no sex. The bleeding does not come with any pain, fortunately, but this is frustrating."

For Birth Control "I’m on my second month of taking this BC. My gyno put me on it to help shrink an ovarian cyst I have that’s close to rupturing. So far, I have noticed somewhat of a decrease in cramps. Thank goodness because those cramps were the worst pains I’ve ever felt, and I would consider myself a person who has a very high pain tolerance :/ But on the other hand, I have been bleeding/spotting for about 3 1/2 weeks now after I had my full 6-day period. I’ve experienced abnormal mood swings, increased anxiety, worsened depression, and insane random crying sprees over the smallest things or just nothing really at all. At this point, I think the pain is a better option than how crazy this pill has made me feel."

For Birth Control "Before I started it, I was mortified of it based on all these terrible reviews. Within 2-3 weeks, women were complaining about hair falling out, suicidal thoughts, nausea, mood swings, heavy bleeding, and so forth. I'm going on 7 weeks and haven't had not one of those symptoms, with a slight exception of the nausea. I get nauseous probably once every few days. The sensation lasts for about a minute and it's gone. I can't even pinpoint that the BC is the culprit. My experience with Chateal has been a breeze so far, and I hope it stays that way. So don't let these negative reviews steer you the wrong way. Everyone is different, and it clearly works great for many, not all, but many. Most importantly, I'm not pregnant!!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for almost a year now and have had no problems until just recently. The past couple of months, I have been extremely bloated (to the point where I thought I was pregnant and took a pregnancy test) and have been very exhausted. I stay tired all day, and no matter how much sleep I get, I just want to lay in bed. I have also been bleeding very heavily for over 5 weeks now, and I am nowhere close to the time I'm supposed to bleed. The cramps and bleeding have been heavier/worse than I've ever had."
