For Birth Control "Just switched from the NuvaRing because it was giving me horrible hormone headaches. Been slightly nauseous switching back to an oral pill. Only thing to note is super intense nipple sensitivity. Ow! Hope it subsides soon."

For Birth Control "If you are taking Portia 28 and think it may be the cause of your acne that you can't explain, throw it away. It gave me cystic acne when my skin was previously clear. I'm talking about clusters of painful, deep cystic acne that left scars and wouldn't go away for months. I became way more irritable and had intense mood swings, always feeling so 'done' and tired. The first few weeks, I couldn't even keep the pill down and woke up to throw up every night. I never got a good night's sleep due to this, and my body was in a constant state of stress and exhaust. I only decided to search up reviews to see if I was the only one, 7 months in. Now I see that the majority are facing the exact same problems as me. I'm so frustrated that I didn't take just a second to research this brand because it would have saved me so much emotional distress and confusion."

For Birth Control "I started taking Portia when I was 16 (22 now), and I was on it for about a year. I have since switched birth control brands twice. Before being on Portia, I had very bad cramping, and it 100% went away when I started this pill. I never became pregnant either. I'm rating it at a 5 because my mood swings were out of control! I also had some nausea, and I was hungry all the time. I actually lost weight taking this pill."

For Birth Control "I tried this birth control for the first time 2 weeks ago, and it has been the worst I’ve experienced. Terrible side effects. I am a bubbly, happy woman, and this made me so sad and depressed. I was on vacation with my family, and I felt a sadness and anxiety I have never felt before. I couldn’t understand why I was so sad under the happiest, most ideal circumstances life has to offer! It also made me nauseous, and worst of all, one week after my period, I got my PERIOD AGAIN!!! My period is normally 4 days long, and today is now day 6 of this Portia-provoked period... even though I stopped taking the pill 3 days ago. Lastly, I have very clear skin, and this made me break out. I just don’t see the upside to this birth control. Never again."

For Birth Control "This pill was prescribed to my 16-year-old daughter, who, after being on it for a couple of weeks, started having side effects of nausea, anxiety, huge mood swings, and constant headaches. All of these things are very unlike her. We didn't even realize it was the pill at first. We couldn't figure out what was wrong, even tried cutting out certain foods, all to no avail. When we finally realized it might be the pill, she discontinued it, and all of the side effects stopped within a week. Wish I'd read the reviews first, and after seeing other negative experiences, I wonder why her doctor chose this pill to begin with. Looking for an alternative now."

For Birth Control "I had to switch to Portia because that's my insurance 'generic' brand. I felt the 'usual' nausea and fatigue, thought it was normal, until I have been having stomach pain on my left side like if I had air, more gassy, low sex drive (thought it was the summer heat but not that), tired and back pain. I feel like a fatty mc fatty. Feeling worse and worse each time. So going to decide no longer birth control to clean my body out of toxins and if I get blessed with a baby bump, then HEY, it's meant to be. :) Aside from the fact it does help not having a baby, which that is what it is supposed to do. OBVIOUSLY"

For Birth Control "I have been on this for one week! No side effects at all. I used to have horrible headaches daily, and this BC has gotten rid of them! Was very nervous to start a hormonal pill because I am prone to nausea and headaches. I don't have one thing to say bad about this pill."

For Birth Control "Obviously by the name I am a mom. After I got off of Portia, I immediately got pregnant a week later. Wasn't our intention at all. When I got back on it after having my kid, everything had changed. I get massive headaches, nausea, dizziness, and it makes my body really tender and sore down there, so sex hurts quite a bit sometimes. With all that being said, I have never had an issue or a pregnancy scare while being on the Portia pill, and it definitely works when it comes to preventing pregnancy. I have been on it for 6 years now, and even though the side effects suck, it's the only one that is truly accurate on its pregnancy prevention. I buy this version of it for $9. It's very cheap."

For Birth Control "Had to switch to this from Levora that worked great. Even though Portia kept me from getting pregnant, I woke up every morning with cramps, nausea, and by week 3 I had purpura show up on my legs."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for over a year, and it does work against pregnancy, but gives me overwhelming nausea every single day, and it doesn't go away. It also fixed my period, but gave me cramps."

For Birth Control "I started this only a week ago and suddenly have huge cystic pimples, cramping, nausea, and bloating. I also have been so irritable. I do not recommend it at all."

For Birth Control "STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM PORTIA!!! I was like many other ladies on here taking Levora and had no side effects and no weight gain. Kaiser switched me to Portia and told me it was the exact same thing. So I trusted them. I have menorrhagia and was given birth control to stop my periods completely. It did its job for a while, that is keeping my periods away. But as months went by, weight came on so fast. No matter how much I did and how healthy I ate. I was a fitness instructor and had never had weight issues. From the start till now of taking Portia, I have gained 60 pounds that are stubborn and will only budge a pound or two. As the years went by, I became different. I wasn't me. I became severely anxious and was diagnosed with anxiety disorder, then the depression set in. I became foggy-minded, and often dizzy. I am constantly bloated, have severe mood swings, feel drained, have acne, and experience chest pains. After 5 years, I'm getting off it with a hysterectomy."
