For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for the better part of 4 years, and I loved it most of the time. The first 6 months I started taking this pill, I had frequent spotting and irregular periods, but otherwise no other symptoms (that I can remember). After 6 months, I switched to SPRINTEC and absolutely hated it, as it made me bloated, made me gain 20 pounds, and gave me dry and painful periods. I decided to switch back to Portia after a couple of months and have been on it regularly for 3 years. Over the last 3 months, however, I started to get severe mood swings and depression the week of my period, and it got to the point that I had to switch it for the benefit of those around me (I would cry all the time and get easily annoyed with them). Other than the very recent mood swings, I loved this BC, and if the next BC doesn’t work, I will absolutely be coming back to Portia and deal with the mood swings."

"I had high hopes for this pill. I had tried Alesse, and it had made no difference to my very heavy periods, so I changed to Portia. The good side was that I didn't have any mood issues (which I seemed to have with Alesse), but the downside was it didn't help at all with my problem. My periods got heavier, lasting 10 days, with 3-4 days each time when I'd have to get up every 2 hours through the night. I also got really bad cramps and pain, and huge clots. Not pleasant. I did take it for 3 months straight when I had some events on, and had no problems, no spotting or anything. Shame it didn't do anything else to help! Have now switched to Minestrin, we'll see how that goes."

For Birth Control "The only thing I can say positive about this birth control pill is that it kept me from getting pregnant. Even on days I had missed and doubled up I never had a pregnancy scare. The bunch of negatives. When I first started Portia my heart rate was high and I started noticing chest pain. My monthly flow was 4-5 days, and the flow got heavier. After being on it for a few months I started having cramps in my ovaries and intense periods with migraines that would last for the whole period. Moody, gained weight, felt bloated. I was always extremely wet down there all day, and during sex it was worse. I recently switched back to the depo and immediately those symptoms went away! In my opinion, it’s a good pregnancy preventive pill because I’ve gotten pregnant twice on other BC pills, but I feel this medicine was not compatible with my body at all!"

For Birth Control "Had to switch to this from Levora that worked great. Even though Portia kept me from getting pregnant, I woke up every morning with cramps, nausea, and by week 3 I had purpura show up on my legs."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for over a year, and it does work against pregnancy, but gives me overwhelming nausea every single day, and it doesn't go away. It also fixed my period, but gave me cramps."

For Birth Control "I started this only a week ago and suddenly have huge cystic pimples, cramping, nausea, and bloating. I also have been so irritable. I do not recommend it at all."

For Birth Control "I have been on Portia for a year now, and this is my 7th brand of birth control pills. In the first couple of months I started Portia, I had crazy cystic acne, and not because of Portia, but this pill cleared my face to where my acne was nonexistent. I have always suffered with acne, and I have never felt better about myself. Well, now that I have been on this pill for a year, in the past month my cystic acne has come back FULL force. It's horrendous. I have no idea if it's the pill causing it or what because it actually cleared my face this whole time. On another note, I have always suffered with heavy periods and terrible cramps to the point of wanting to throw up from the pain. Now my periods are SUPER light, and I have little to no cramps."
