"I started Jolessa 6 months ago. The first pack went like I had expected. I did have weight gain, as well as acne, which I never had before. The second pack was where everything went wrong. I bled the whole entire pack. Yep, I'm getting off this medicine."

"Started on Jolessa over a year ago. It caused me to have acne. I have to use a daily face wash now, and I've never had to do that before. Also, the bleeding is really bad. Every time I finish the last 2 weeks of the second month, my period comes. Some days it's heavy, some days it's light, and it typically lasts until I start a new pack. I have to keep a ready stock of pads available at all times. The longest the period lasted was almost 3 months. My doctor decided I should go back to Seasonique. I only changed because of the copay difference. It's worth paying the extra $40 to me. I am on my last week and a half of Jolessa and I can't wait to get the new pill and be done with this one. I won't ever take it again."

"I wanted to take this medicine to deal with period-related migraines. I have been bleeding for the last 15 days. I have never had a bad reaction to a birth control pill before. It is distressing. My doctor has taken me off this medication and switched me to a higher dose pill."

For Birth Control "I was on Depo for 10 years and had to stop because of demineralized bones. I enjoyed not having periods for those many years. The doctor said to try Jolessa. I was on it for 5 years. I always had bleeding 2 weeks before it was due in the pack. And slowly my hair thinned out on my scalp. It took me forever to figure out why my hair was coming out rampantly. Yes, it was 5 years of hair loss. Not even the dermatologist was sure what was causing it because all my blood work came back normal. Shortly after stopping Jolessa recently, I noticed little baby hairs growing on my hairline, which I am so thankful for. I believe I may just be sensitive to birth control hormones or the synthetic hormones they use. So I'm choosing to use the cervical cap with contraceptive gel."

"I am on week 6, which is the second pack of 3 months. I have been bleeding since I started, not as heavy as my usual cycles, but a 6-week period. If this doesn't stop soon, I'm done with it. Also, my breasts are so sore they hurt, and I never have issues with that."

For Birth Control "My experience has been almost entirely negative. Pros: fuller breasts, effective at preventing pregnancy. Cons: spotting and heavy bleeding, cramps, irritability, fatigue, cannot stop eating McDonald's... weight gain concentrated in the 'mom-gut' region. I began spotting during the first week. This lasted several weeks, some days barely there, other days heavy. It stopped for barely a week, and then started again. During the second month, I basically started a period, going from light spotting to a light period. During week 6, I started a full-blown heavy period. Week 7 - intense cramping started. I started week 9 this week... but I have just had it. There is no end in sight, it seems. Into the trash it goes."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Going on 2 months now. I had 16 days of extremely heavy bleeding with heavy clotting. I have PCOS and would have some crazy abnormal periods, but never with severe cramping and clotting. I went through a regular tampon in 1 hour and about 45 overnight pads in those 16 days. My left breast is considerably more tender at all times, and I have random spotting and cramps almost every day. I'll be calling my doc to tell her I'm going off of this pill. I won't make it to the third month. I'd rather use condoms (and I hate condoms)."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for almost 3 months, and so far, I'm not pleased! My gynecologist suggested this birth control method because I bleed heavily and have severe abdominal pains. I'm always hungry, never stopped bleeding, and my bedroom life has been on hold for 2 and a half months."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My daughter has PCOS among other problems, she started this drug when she was 12 and now, at 23, is having breakthrough bleeding. I can only assume that her body has changed, that this drug no longer is helping keep her periods at bay."

For Birth Control "First cycle on these and I've been having breakthrough bleeding for 2 months now. In one week I will go on spacers, not sure if I want to continue, it's so frustrating. I did have headaches when I just started the cycle, but those went away after 3 days. Breast tenderness lasted the entire time."

For Birth Control "Been on Jolessa for 11 days and counting. Had nausea, headache, and stomachache the first three days. That’s done, but now I’m still bleeding even though my period finished almost a week ago. Woke up this morning with brown blood running down my legs and saw big clots on the toilet paper when I wiped myself. That has never happened to me with any of the other contraceptives I’ve taken (Yaz, Tri Sprintec, progestin-only pills, Nexplanon). Doc says to keep at it for the full three months, but I think I’m ready to call it quits with Jolessa."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Jolessa for a month and a half, and I have spotted the entire time. I would rather have my period once a month rather than dealing with light bleeding every day."
