For Migraine Prevention "I began using Aimovig 6 months ago. I have chronic migraine, and I used all medications available for migraine. Usually, I had migraines almost daily (from 25-26 days a month). The first 3 months after Aimovig were really bad. The migraines were horrible, and I had to go to hospitals for the first time in my life. I cried and thought I would die. Now, I have migraines maybe 6 times in a month."

For Migraine Prevention "I am happy this product has helped many with their pain. This is not the case with me. Two weeks ago was my third dose at 70 mg. Throughout the past two and a half months, my pain has not changed. I am having full body migraines, itching my skin off, and fevers after the injection. I think I'm not tolerating the medicine and having an allergic reaction. Also, the 4th week before the next injection is a torture week with my migraines amplified."

For Migraine Prevention "I was doing well with Aimovig the first 2 months, but since my 3rd shot, my migraines have come on with a vengeance. The first 3 to 5 days after taking the shot, I feel like I've been hit by a train. I get extreme nausea, and the fatigue makes it almost impossible to get out of bed. With each dose, it actually triggers a migraine, but it usually subsides after a few days. Aimovig also makes me have auras, but oddly enough, they aren't always followed by a headache. I'm going to stick this out another month, maybe the next round won't be so bad. I had an entire month migraine-free. I hope and pray that will be the case with my next dose. Good luck to anyone trying this, I hope you find the relief you're looking for. PS: sign up for the discount card!!!"

For Migraine Prevention "I took my first dose (70 mg) two weeks ago. Coincidentally, my last Botox injection is wearing off right around this time, so my doctor and I figured it'd be a good time to test it. She told me I'd notice a difference in two weeks. I've had an ongoing migraine for the last week, but in comparison to the migraines I used to have (pre-Botox)? This is nothing. Previously, I'd be either in a hot shower or a dark room with an ice pack. I've missed a lot of work and fun; physical activity is basically nonexistent because any form of walking/impact sets my teeth on edge. With the Aimovig, sure, my head hurts, but it isn't unbearable. Sure, I'm a little foggy, but that isn't too bad. The injection didn't hurt at all - I did it in my thigh, no pain, no burning. Or, if there was, it was so much less than how trigger point injections hurt; I didn't notice. Overall, I'm very pleased with this. I'm getting my next round of Botox next week, which should eliminate the rest of this pain."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Aimovig (70 mg) 1 shot for 7 months now. First 5 months, migraine-free. At the 6-month shot, I had the worst migraine about 4 days after my shot, and it was so bad I thought I was gonna have a stroke. At month 7, 4 days after my shot, I had the worst vertigo, I couldn't move my head or walk for days. I have had horrible bloating and constipation, and it caused me to have a diverticulitis flare-up. I'm done with this medication. I also noticed my shoulder has been sore for 2 months now, like I pulled a muscle, and it's probably related to this medication since I notice people have reported muscle pain because I didn't do anything strenuous prior."

For Migraine Prevention "I had my first injection of 70 mg on 8/16/18. The medicine hurt really bad going in. First day, it's like a lot of migraine pain went away. Keep in mind I have 2-3 migraines a day. Same night, my throat started hurting, hard to swallow, started wheezing. 2nd day begun when I woke up feeling really bad. Migraine, sore throat, wheezing, coughing, walking into walls, out of it, and extremely tired. Went to GP, was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection. I really hope this stuff gets out of my system. I don't want another dose, the first was enough for me. Migraine is worse than my other ones. I hope it works for everyone else. Me, I feel like I've been run over by a bus or flu-like symptoms. Of course, it could be reacting to all my other diagnoses I don't know."

For Migraine Prevention "I took my fourth injection today at 140 mg. Each time I am incredibly fatigued and get a headache/migraine. The first injection I had an intractable migraine for 3 days. But overall, I am seldom having migraines now. I just dread the day I have to do an injection and know I will not feel well for a day or two. It is worth it since I had chronic migraines more days a month than not, but now it is only one time a month with the injection."

For Migraine Prevention "To begin with, the injection pen for my medication is not functioning well. I began using it in October 2022 and took my last dose on January 23, 2023. The first dose was okay, but it's possible that was due to Emgality still being in my system. However, after the second dose, I started experiencing constipation and noticed that something was not right. I began to have more migraines, felt generally restless, and my vision was getting blurry. By the time I took my third dose, I was not feeling well and contacted my doctor about potentially increasing the dose to 140 mg. But as I was unsure about the cause of these issues, I decided not to increase the dose and still took the fourth one. After the fourth dose, I experienced muscle weakness, more headaches, exhaustion, and blurred vision. I was taking more Nurtec than ever before to try and alleviate the symptoms. However, on February 10, 2023, I found myself struggling to maintain balance and experiencing severe blurred vision. I went to the ER, and everyone thought I was having a stroke, but it turned out to be a migraine, unlike any I had ever experienced before. I have since stopped taking the medication, but I am still dealing with complications. Ten days later, I am still experiencing headaches, feeling unsteady and shaky. I am now taking Nurtec as a preventive measure. The persistent brain fog and constipation are terrible."

For Migraine Prevention "At 6 months, it’s settled into a pattern, the joint pain is rough for the first 72 hours, and the migraine tamps down to manageable levels within 24. It’s clear for me that this drug removes the brain fog, which lets me see more of classic migraine patterns. I had lost most of my regular life with chronic neuro problems and was on Botox, sumatriptan, Fiorcet, and Nucynta. I have added Aimovig, and it completes the circle, I have my life back. I lose weight on it, though it wasn’t a problem, and it’s always two additional pounds at 48 hours-how strange. I’m 60, and the only things I concern myself with are the week it wears off and I start again, which can have rough patches. It isn’t a migraine “fix,” but used as a complement, it is helpful. It does kick up autoimmune issues, so it will take more time to assess my ability to stay on it, but I plan on trying to for as long as possible because it provides something all other drugs haven’t: clarity of thought."

For Migraine Prevention "Day 4 after my first injection, and I've had a 2-day migraine that won't go away with my migraine meds, and usually it does! But it could be the weather and not the shot. I will update as time goes on."

For Migraine Prevention "I had my first shot a few days ago (3 of Aug). Since then, I've had this funny feeling/lightheadedness off and on. My chest feels like it's racing, and I ended up with a migraine today. My neurologist did tell me it'd take a couple of shots to get the full benefit."
