Aimovig (erenumab) "I got this medication Aimovig August 9th of 2019 after I had a CT scan and an MRI and the only thing they found was on my left side some white area that is linked to migraines. So I can say that it did stop the migraines but the fatigue and the muscle ache and the constant vertigo was not worth it! Worst of all YOUR HAIR WILL FALL! If I was allowed to post photos here I will show you in August I started losing it September even more October and November I lost so much hair I became very depressed and it's slow down by December and January of 2020 it's still going but not as bad. The problem with this medication is that stopped lot of blood flow to the scalp so it starts falling and when I mean my hair was falling it was falling by the roots! A lot of research has to be done about this medication yes if those work but the side effects is way too much they need to work on it a little more."

Aimovig (erenumab) "It has been a month now and I am still suffering from terrible side effects of this drug. I already shared a list on here ( 2019-09-15 ) but wanted to add to it as I think it is important that others know about this. I have severe exhaustion, no energy not even enough to stand up. I feel tingly and strange all over all night long and can barely breath. I felt like my blood sugars dumped out as I had this happen one time to a bee sting. So I ordered a glucose monitor and started using it. On the days I feel the worst at night my sugars are over. This is not normal for me. I looked this up and found that my blood sugar could be dropping at night to dangerous levels which causes my body to go into crisis mode and this can lead to higher reading in the morning. Now I will need to get up at 3 am to check them so I can see if this is indeed the issue. So for those of you feeling completely exhausted with no energy this could be the problem. You need to call the FDA and document your side effects."

Aimovig (erenumab) "This drug has been nothing short of a miracle for me. I can even drink red wine again! Was having 2 or more migraines a week which were responding to 100 mg sumatriptan but the number of triggers were increasing with age and I was using too much. Furthermore my insurance wouldn't cover so much sumatriptan so I was buying it in Mexico. I've had two 140mg shots and I'm migraine free! NO side effects. I'm an unusually fit and active 56 year old woman with no other health issues."

Aimovig (erenumab) "Just started Aimovig on 9/11/19 70mg and immediately started having leg cramps & chest pains. By the 3rd day, I could barely walk & stand. Very concerned because I am a 47 year old chronic migraine sufferer and already have been receiving Botox Injections for over 2 years & am on permanent disability for migraines along with Fibromyalgia. Don’t know how I missed these reviews before taking this medicine but I am extremely regretful and I pray for others’ side effects who’s suffering even more than me."

Aimovig (erenumab) "I received my first dose of Aimvog and had the worst migraine ever which ended me up in the ER. After the injection that my dr gave me, I was dizzy for a day and then the migraine came. Now I have pain in my temples, I'm very dizzy and my legs feel weak. I never had symptoms like this before. I am so upset that the dr told me the side effect were leg cramps and constipation. I will NEVER go back to this doctor again as I feel she misled me. I would have never taken this injection if I saw this site before my visit with the dr. The dizziness is crazy and I've had to take a lot of time off from work."

Aimovig (erenumab) "Started noticing drastic reduction in migraine days after the second Aimovig shot (went from having 20+ a month to 1-2) but it had such horrible side effects that I had to get off the drug. I was dizzy and tired all the time, not to mention bowel movement changes everyone is talking about. I developed shingles after 2 months of being on this drug and started having unexplained vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding isn't listed anywhere on the side effects for Aimovig but it is the only medication I've added recently. My OBGYN performed ultrasound and blood check for hormone imbalance but everything checked normal. I have been off of Aimovig for 3 months now and my migraines are coming back. Other than taking medication for high blood pressure, I am a healthy woman. I saw that it takes 5 months for this medication to be flushed out of your system. I don't know how I'm going to last another 2 months."

Aimovig (erenumab) "Side effects have been very bad- lower back pain, cramps, bloating, constipation, fatigue. About a week after taking the injection I had one of the most severe migraines I've ever experienced. Previously they were cluster headaches but this was intense pain all around my head, even base of my skull. I understand Aimovig has worked for some, but would advise trying all other options first. From what I've read here many others have also had serious side effects."

Aimovig (erenumab) "After 2 months on Aimovig I’ve sadly decided to discontinue this medication. The drug worked amazingly well in preventing migraines from which I’ve suffered since age 17. However by the second month of administration I realized my side effects of extreme lack of energy, light headedness, constipation, bloating and weight gain are attributed to this medication. I definitely think more post-marketing research needs to be done by the company. It’s truly a shame because Aimovig worked perfectly in preventing my migraines but the side effects definitely outweigh the benefits."

Aimovig (erenumab) "On Aimovig I have had a very positive experience as far as my migraine days go. However, my side effects keep building. I started with my 140mg dose in January. At first my side effect was that I was constipated, but now I can't poop at all. Teas used to help but now they don't. Long story short, my side effects since starting the Aimovig injections are I'm retaining water, anxious, congested, tachycardia, muscle cramping (shoulders, lower back, thighs the most) PLUS the constipation. Just wondering now if Aimovig is worth it."

Aimovig (erenumab) "I started taking aimovig in October of last year. I have gotten Migraines since a Shingles infection about 5 years ago (just had received the flu shot) and onset of Menopause. I had daily migraines and nothing I took appeared to help ( I was even placed on Methadone). Over the years of not functioning I finally figured that ANY STRESS perceived by my body will trigger a Migraine attack. Hearing about Aimovig I was soo hopeful especially since I had some amazing reduction in Migraine Severity and days. Yet I am on Month 4 of Aimovig with Non- stop migraines for the past 3 weeks. I went through my allotted regular migraine meds for this month as well as my reserves - my body is exhausted, I am getting more and more depressed and already know I am in the cycle of daily Migraines!!! HELP!!!"

Aimovig (erenumab) "I had my first Aimovig injection 6 days ago. The injection itself was not unpleasant, however, within two hours of having received Aimovig I had extreme dizziness, excruciating chest pain, shortness of breath, hives on my face, rash on my stomach, mouth ulcers, body aches and pains, joint pains, stomach cramps and leg cramps. Not to mention I have had a migraine since the day of the Aimovig. These side effects have not dissipated in 6 days. Hoping they do soon.. I will not be trying the medication in the future. FDA needs to be made aware of all side effects"

Aimovig (erenumab) "I had 9-15 headaches per month, ; after my first Aimovig injection I had 3 the first month! My second month, 0, until I had too much alcohol then I had one that night and the next. I just took my 3rd injection and I am going to refrain from any social alcoholic beverages to see if that could be my trigger. After 25 years of headaches-and not being able to figure out if I had a trigger- I feel wonderful! The only side effect is that the injection in my right thigh is painful during admission and then my thigh is incredibly sore for about 30-90 minutes after, but the left has no pain at all."

Aimovig (erenumab) "Hi! I have taken 6 or 7 injections. My dr tells me over and over that my new side effects have nothing to do with the injections, but I really do not believe her. Besides severe exhaustion, constipation and vertigo, I also have very long menstrual periods. Does anyone else experience period changes?"

Aimovig (erenumab) "I only had two doses and am discontinuing Aimovig. I started feeling fatigue, nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, blurred vision, increased anxiety, heart palpitations, shakiness in chest, eye pressure/pain and a crazy upper respiratory infection/sinusitis with fever started. I am on the second round of antibiotics and thats finally clearing up. There is no other explanation for all these side effects to come on all at once. I was told by my neurologist that the ONLY side effect was constipation which can be an issue since I take a double dose of iron daily for anemia-I didn’t notice that getting any worse. Go figure. After doing my own research and finding that so many other people were reporting these same side effects I decided to stop. My migraines are hormonal but can be triggered by stress. Since my stress level is way down I was only getting one or two migraines per month. Now, like so many others I’m waiting for this scary new drug to be out of my system!"

Aimovig (erenumab) "Aimovig brought my migraine frequency down to almost zero. However the side effects were awful. The worst being constipation. I haven't taken an injection in over a month and the constipation still persists. So much so I have to see a gastroenterologist. If you use this medication beware the side effects can be severe"

I’d rather have a migraine that have to go through this again! I DO NOT recommend this medication! I know everyone is different, I have no allergies to anything and for this to happen to me was very odd! Good Luck"

Aimovig (erenumab) "Have had 3 doses of 70mg. Migraines decreased a little in severity and maybe 10 a month vs. 14. was getting botox every three month. My hair has been having MAJOR shedding now for 2 1/2 months. VERY noticeable thinning now. Shedding continues. Will not be taking my 4th dose. PRAYING the hair loss stops and regrows. Also of note: my arthritis pain in my hands and feet has increased so much it was keeping me awake last night. This has to be from the Aimovig! BEWARE!!!!!!"

Aimovig (erenumab) "Started amivog in November just took 3rd dose of 140mg. Since I started I have a daily headache and have had a flare up every other day. 2 bad ones struck last month, and last week twice again where I experienced nausea, vomiting, incoherent to a point of being unable to walk or talk. I even had to leave work which I hadn't done in 2 years. Nothing helps when it hits, abortive or muscle relaxers or midrin. Its torture."

Aimovig (erenumab) "I have been using this drug for 4 months and have NO more migraines and no side effects other than constipation - Using Miralax for that - previously had 15 migraines per month and now possibly 2 per month which I take an Aleve - my neurologist in FL did a 6 year study of the drug in his office and told me up front about the constipation. He did require a brain MRI , EEG, and complete blood work before I could start and told me the amount of migraines I was having were no way to live - I was living on Imitrex and compazine - always having or getting over a migraine - rarely had a week off - I couldn’t plan trips , golf games, a night out as I was never sure when a migraine would struck, some lasting up to 5 days - please give this drug a try , it has changed my life - I am otherwise healthy and work out daily - no weight gain, hair loss , fever Chills or insomnia - Good luck to all , it’s not an easy road being a migraine sufferer -"

Aimovig (erenumab) "Began Aimovig 3 months ago. I have been a migraine sufferer since 8 yrs old and am now 40 yrs old. I've been prescribed medication for migraines in the past; however, none of these medications were able to control and rid the debilitating migraines that I experienced 2-3 times a week. I have not had a migraine except for 2 days after I had my first injection. I have had a total of 3 doses now and am extremely happy and thrilled for this medication."

Aimovig (erenumab) "If you like splitting headaches, nausea, sleep disturbances/nightmares, fatigue, bowel problems, and muscle aches, this is the drug for you! I've had chronic migraines and cluster headaches since 2016, and haven't even been employed since then. Started Botox in 2019. It is the only treatment that has really worked for me-- it's a miracle. However, I was having really bad rebound migraines between injections... Enter aimovig. What followed was a splitting, incredibly painful, multi day headache. Not a *migraine,* just a really, really bad headache. After that initial phase, I would be overcome with fatigue, nausea, nightmares, and general malaise. My migraines respond best to diet restrictions and Botox. I'm sensitive to a lot of meds and didn't have much luck with most migraine medications, including triptans. So, if your migraine profile is similar to mine, skip aimovig!"

I might take a migraine abortive once a month now. Where has this stuff been for the last 20 years????"

Aimovig (erenumab) "I’ve taken Aimovig for over a year, it was good 1st 3 months-then head pains & migraines came back 1/2 way. Had major migraine treated with Aimovig, nerve block, sumatriptan, & Nubrevly which only allowed me to get through it-4’days in bed. Then switched to Emgality did nothing. Now back on Aimovig. I have heart palpitations, constant headache Requiring triptan, concentration issues, ringing ears, constipation, bloating, some weight gain, insomnia, sharp head pains in temples & head; need to get off all CGRP...of course Amgen doesn’t want to tell you how to stop taking it-guess what they want??? Can’t do this anymore!"

Aimovig (erenumab) "I have been on Aimovig 70mg for 5 months and went to 140mg this month. About an hour after both shots I got horribly sick. I could not stop throwing up even though I had nothing on my stomach at the time. I had stomach cramps and additional pain in my neck and shoulders. I have been so irritable, depressed and anxious and the headaches are not much better. I also have a loud ringing in my ears that is hard to overlook. It seems like the side effects are so much worse than the headaches even though they do not show but a couple of side effects on the paperwork. They need to research this drug a lot more before making this seem like a wonder drug that could be harming people. We already have enough pain and problems. We also need to check on the doctors that prescribe this medication to see if they are getting kick backs or part owner of the drug!!!!!!"
