"I am 58 and was diagnosed about 6 months ago with HCV- Type 1A. Anyway... long story shortened- I am now finishing week 4 of Zepatier. Just got back my blood tests for week 3, and all tests came back normal, including the ALT and AST, which were very elevated months ago, prompting the HCV test. More importantly, the HCV virus is now undetectable after 3 weeks of treatment. I had a viral load before of 4,600,000,000 when tested before treatment began. My side effects have been tiredness and itching at night... mostly the scalp area, where the Lichen Planus was very active already. I have noticed that I do have some blurry vision, but the joint pains I had been experiencing the past year prior to treatment have lessened, and my hair is growing and thickening (was dry and brittle due to the HCV). I look forward to the end of treatment and highly recommend Zepatier! Thank you!"

"I started taking Zepatier 3 weeks ago. About a week into it, I came down with flu-like symptoms. I was previously on interferon and ribavirin about 10 years ago, in which the side effects were similar, except way more severe. I can tell my body is fighting the virus and that the medication is working. I feel more energy, however, my well-being is not 100 percent, but I am getting there. Overall, the Hep C made me feel fatigued and overall not very pleasant. I am quite hopeful Zepatier is working, as my doctor told me that it has a 97% success rate. I can tell my body is responding to the medication, and it feels like each day I am gradually feeling better. It is amazing that I have been living with this disease for so long, and I am starting to realize the dramatic effect that it has had on my health and well-being."

"I started a month ago, and my viral load went from 2 million to being undetected already. This is truly a great drug. Have not had any major side effects. I have more energy now than I have had in over 20 years. This may not be advertised heavily like Harvoni, but this works just as good, if not better, when you read all the side effects of Harvoni. Give it a shot, I'm surprised it has worked so fast."

"My husband had Hep C genotype 1a. He is 57. We got the diagnosis 5 years ago. They think he has had this for at least 25 years. He got a tattoo out in Sturgis at a raunchy bar. No needle use. That being said, he wasn't a good candidate for previous treatment until Zepatier came along. We were so happy and grateful this medication came along and was covered by our insurance. After 2 weeks his viral load was at 0 and his blood work was normal with all liver tests. He had severe joint pain while taking this medication. He has been off of Zepatier for two weeks now, he feels worse than he ever had in his life. Severe fatigue, weakness, no appetite, joint pain, and depression. I can honestly tell you, he would not have taken this medication."

"I started my 12-week regimen of Zepatier the beginning of April. As of the beginning of April, I have known I have had Genotype 1 (I think) for about 4 years untreated. Also at this time, I have had complete sobriety from all mind and mood-altering substances, including marijuana and alcohol for 19 consecutive months. After my first four weeks of medication (28 doses), I was instructed by my doctor to get blood work done. After 4 weeks and 28 doses, my hep C was negative. As far as side effects, I experienced slight fatigue during my first week of treatment, but that subsided. I am now into my 9th week of the treatment and am having no adverse effects to the medication at all. Definitely worth it."

"I finished the 3-month treatment of Zepatier for Hep C. Although the treatment was quite tolerable considering I am uber sensitive to most meds. I felt better, looked better. ALT level went from 160 to below 20. Got my 3-month blood work back and not considered Hep C free. I was told to not give up hope, but I am waiting for more blood work back in 2 weeks. Super bummed. Could I be that 2-10%? I was experiencing hair loss, which stopped when I stopped the meds, and mood swings. I am not surprised as it is a strong medication and no tapering. Trying to be hopeful, but pretty bummed right now. So glad to hear all the positive comments from people. Trying to be hopeful."

"Just took #10 pill of Zepatier prescription, 10 days in and have had almost no side effects but more energy and generally feeling better and not foggy head. So far, it's been a great experience. Can't wait to be Hep C free. Getting first blood test of treatment 27 days in, looking so forward to having it come back 'cured.'"

"I am a 20-year-old female, one of the youngest patients my doctor has ever treated! Thankfully, being pregnant helped me detect it! I'm on my 3rd week of treatment with Zepatier. The first 2 weeks have been fine, with a few headaches here and there, but now, in the 3rd week, I've become really ill. I'm not 100% sure it's from the medication, but I can't think of anything else it could be, and nobody else is ill. I have a really sore throat and dry mouth, my joints hurt, and I just have no energy! Luckily, I've not been sick, but I'm on day 2 of this illness, so it could go anywhere! I'm going to speak to my doctor on Monday if I'm no better and keep you updated, but I will keep on my medication so I can fight this!"

"I'm 40 and had hep C for 20 years. I'm currently into my second week, so I don't know if it has started to work as yet. I don't seem to have any adverse side effects, fatigue some days - not all. Still manage to work long hours and look after family and horses, so I guess that would make anyone tired! All good up to now and looking forward to being hep C free. Good luck."

"Took Zepatier to cure Hep C that I'd had for 30 years. I had all the side effects, but I'm very sensitive to medications. I would highly recommend these tablets as they work. My last test, 6 months after treatment, and the virus is still not there, so I'm cured, woo hoo!!!"

"I have 17 days left on a 12-week study. I got the medications free as I am on a study comparing Zepatier and Harvoni. I take the Zepatier. I don't have my blood drawn until the end of 12 weeks. Initially, I thought I had a placebo. Into week 6, I experienced headaches, fatigue, hives, heartburn, hair loss, dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, weakness, and irritability."

"Age 74, male, genotype 1b, non-drinker. Counts in excess of 15,000,000, F3.5, ALT and AST very high. In the 4th week of Zepatier. Some fatigue, but perfectly manageable, no other side effects so far. Work and play as normal, including international travel. Blood tests today. Results soon."

"Zepatier is an absolute breeze! I've been hep C positive for over 25 years, and I've never felt so healthy in all my life now that treatment has finished, and I could feel the benefits from week 5 or 6 of treatment! Side effects? I had not one, I think! And that dark cloud I had hanging over my head for over 25 years is now gone too! If you're offered Zepatier, go for it! Best decision I ever made, and it will be the best decision you ever made too! I've tons more energy, and I'm just a happier, healthier, brighter person after this Zepatier treatment!! I was treated in Scotland and got this treatment from NHS free of charge.. xx"

"I was born with HCV through unsanitary hospital conditions in Eastern Europe in the '80s, have had it for my entire life (30 years). Today was my first day taking Zepatier, I am on the 12-week treatment. Genotype 1a or b, not sure, here’s hoping it works and I am cured."

"Finished treatment almost a week ago. Undetectable virus load two weeks into treatment. Virus remains undetectable. Odd mild headache, which lasted a couple of minutes, but took no medication whatsoever, avoiding possible interaction. I've had no other side effects. I continue working and living my normal life. I eat plenty of vegetables; smoothie made of fresh bananas, blackberries, blueberries, mango, and kiwis. I kept the weight at bay and drink fresh beetroot with green apple. No alcohol or fried foods, and drank lukewarm water mixed with fresh lemon juice, and swallowed raw garlic on an empty stomach. Contaminated illness during my childhood. Don't despair. Treatment works, and it's bearable. Best to you all."

"I started Zepatier with ribavirin 4 weeks ago and have a strange feeling of being uplifted - as though something is leaving my body! I am 71 and must have had Hep C genotype 4 for over 35 years - so far just an itchy scalp and a bit emotional, which I can put up with. Blood tests next week, so hopefully no more side effects."

"I liked the packaging; glad they are undercutting Gilead on price. Someone needed to. Small size, easy to swallow. Side effects were mild for the most part. A little hard to tell for me because of another concurrent ailment. Helps to stay hydrated."

"I have had Hep C 1a for 47 years. I started Zepatier 4 weeks ago. The only side effects have been sleep disturbances, frequent waking, occasional body itchiness, insomnia, nightmares, and generally disturbed and unrestful sleep. This has worsened during weeks 3 and 4. I go tomorrow morning for the results of recent blood tests. I am expecting that the virus will be cleared, and I will settle in for the next 3 months. I highly recommend Zepatier, especially after not being able to tolerate Interferon/Ribavirin treatment six years ago."

"I started taking Zepatier 2 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks, no problem. Then one night, I became very sick and was vomiting everywhere and had continuous diarrhea. I found it very strange for the side effects to all of a sudden do this. Since this, I have come off the treatment. I would also like to point out that I was also coming off GHB and meth at the same time. Now that I'm clean, I was never a heavy user, just recreational, I'm going to try it again as I'm sure it had something to do with my withdrawal process from GHB."

"I got problems with my esophagus from the first week that I took Zepatier. I have now been cured of hepatitis C and am five months without Zepatier and still have the same problem. After two opinions of specialists to ask is the opinion that by ingestion of that medication and I also have no bile left. There is a stomach and esophagus that lets in acid that has formed into a kind of sulfuric acid. I've already taken a lot of medication for it. Hopefully, I get even better."

"I have been taking Zepatier for two days, and yesterday night I felt really odd. Today I was okay and took the second one, and 3 hours later I feel awful, like I am going to be sick, and my head feels so detached from things. I have an overwhelming urge to burst into tears, and I have no idea why. How long before I get through this, as I can't do this for 12 weeks? I just want this virus out of me so bad. So, so bad."

"Finished treatment 5 months ago. I’m cured with flying colors. Still experiencing headaches, hip pain for some time, but now it’s over. Main problem is my chest area. I feel pain there and discomfort. My esophagus and throat are a bit funny. Will wait a bit longer until looking for help. Acid reflux seems to be worse. It wasn’t that bad before treatment. Also, a few times per month, extreme fatigue when I have to lie down and stay home. I’m happy with results, but not happy with my health at all."

"It worked and was easy to take. I drank plenty of water and took it in the morning. Ever since, I have very weak muscles, cannot stand or walk. I don't know if it was an underlying condition that was nowhere near as bad before or if Zepatier somehow caused it. I am grateful I am not dying. Now I realize I have muscle, joint, and breathing problems, swollen lymph nodes, and fever. I always thought all my symptoms were hep C. Apparently not, though, as I still have most of them. I recommend Zepatier, as it is best to get rid of hep C if you can. Zepatier is better than Harvoni, which gave me a heart attack."

"I started taking Zepatier three days ago! No side effects till now! I would like to share only this: I feel a slight pain in the back of the head. That's all for now! I'll keep my fingers crossed till I finish in 12 weeks! :) Update: Now, I've finished my 3rd week of the treatment! No side effects, even my blood test is brilliant! I'll inform you when I finish my 8 weeks! Update: Incredible!! On my 31st day, the virus is undetectable! Before starting Zepatier, I had 4,796,191 viral load, now the results are negative! No side effects! Zepatier is working very well! Thank you, Zepatier!"
