For Birth Control "Was on Yasmin for 6 years and for the first few years, everything was fine. No side effects at all. Until recently when I started getting low moods, severe anxiety, IBS, and then ended up in A&E with severe abdominal pain which turned out to be gallstones, all of which were attributed to this pill. So, cons: • Anxiety • Depression • Gallstones • IBS Pros: • Didn't get pregnant • Clear skin • Regular periods Did the pros worth the cons? Absolutely not."

For Acne "I'm actually on Laila 35 which is the generic version and it has taken some time for my skin to get where it is but I had horrible cystic acne on my jawline and then just general acne on my face, chest and back. The pill has absolutely cleared my skin to the point where I can go out and not feel like I need makeup. Maybe once I have my scars treated, I might not even need makeup for school. I get heaps of compliments on how much better my skin is and looks, let alone how GOOD I feel. Unless you have acne you wouldn't understand that its not just something on you face that goes away when you use a cleanser, it's a mental thing. Take this and don't expect instant results."

For Acne "I have been on Yasmin for a few years and I will never come off it now. I tried so many different things to clear up my cystic acne. I had it for about 5 years mainly on my jaw line and nothing got rid of it. I tried different topical treatments, face washes, not wearing make up and different pills but nothing worked. Within a month or so of being on Yasmin I noticed I wasn't getting any big spots. My skin was clearing up majorly and It has been a life saver since. I get the odd spot here and there now but I can deal with that."

For Birth Control "Actually one of the only contraceptive pills me and my body have gotten along with, did help to clear up my skin (although I believe spots were caused from a previous pill) however had to stop taking after having 2nd dose of AstraZeneca vaccine as I had resting heart rate of over 100bmp constantly and heart palpitations. This pill on average can make women 3x more likely to have blood clots and I don't think enough research has been done into the side effects of that mixed with Covid vaccines."

For Birth Control "Out of all the birth control pills, this one is best! Gained some weight in the "right" spots :) Less PMS, if any @ all, lighter periods/flow. And this pill is safe enough to take for 3 consecutive months, so you can have your period only 4 times a year!!! That's so AWESOME!"

For Birth Control "The Yasmin pill has KILLED people and it known to give blood clots. I wish I never put this in my body. It completely changed who I was as person. I am starting to get myself back to normal again. The only thing it did for me was give me really clear skin. Now that I have stopped taking it I have started to break out but I will take pimples over putting this pill back into my body. Please be careful with Yasmin. I’m warning you from one female to another... do your research and look out for yourself. It mucked up my life."

For Acne "I am 19 and have had mild to severe acne all throughout my teen years. I have tried so many different acne products such as proactive and other prescription creams but nothing ever worked. It really lowered my self esteem and I would never leave the house without makeup. I decided to try Yasmin because it was the only thing left to try before accutane and plus my periods were really irregular, so I was hoping it would help that as well. I have now been on Yasmin for 8 months and my skin is completely clear with just a few pimples every once and awhile. Also my periods regulated as soon as I started the pill. My face didn’t get worse at the beginning but it does take a few months to see results. I have been a little more moody since I started and have gained a little bit of weight (I also haven’t been exercising), but I’m for sure going to stay on it because my face is the clearest it’s ever been and I now feel comfortable leaving my house without makeup."

For Birth Control "YASMIN RUINED MY RELATIONSHIP! When I first started the pill I LOVED it, my skin eventually got improved and my skin was SOOO clear! My boobs looked amazing too, well that’s the only positive things I can say about Yasmin. When it comes to my mental health it literally made me CRAZY! I’m naturally a very calm, happy and collected person. But these pills made me cry in front of my ex over small things, we couldn’t hold a serious conversation without me not crying, I could get moody over small things and then I couldn’t snap out of it which made things worse, I’ve felt extremely anxious, paranoid and depressed. My added anxiety have made me feel more insecure about myself, I have no energy to do my old activities that I used to enjoy, I feel lazy and like I can’t fully be in sync with my feelings. Basically: if you want great skin, go for it! But don’t be surprised if you suddenly get added depression, tears and anxiety. I’m off them now and I am already happier"

For Birth Control "The best pill you can go on if you need to lose weight and clear up your skin! Before taking Yasmin my skin was terrible, I broke out like crazy and it was a real struggle to lose weight. Within the first 2-3 months of Yasmin my skin was beautiful and clear, and within 6 months the amount of weight I lost was crazy! At least 10 kilos lighter (along with a decent diet). The only con about Yasmin is I did get a little depressed and anxious so I decided to get off the pill, a month or two after the pill I started breaking out and I gained weight. That's why I know Yasmin helps with acne and weight loss! It's literally your best friend. I've decided to go back on the pill, can't wait to look thinner and have beautiful skin!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Yaz for 4 years. I haven't gained any weight and no acne. BUT my sex drive has been completely gone. I just got my blood drawn and my estrogen level is the lowest of the low..my doctor said it's from YAZ. Also, (I just noticed this now) but I have lost sooo much hair since taking this pill."

For Acne "I started Yasmin about 3 months ago now and seriously had so many side effects- not only did it made my skin worse but I constantly felt bloated, was depressed, I'm usually quite energetic but it made me really sleepy constantly. I'm in my last year of my degree, so it really was not helpful at all! Luckily I found sense to leave the pill and already I feel better, I'm not bloated anymore and generally less tired! I am still in search for something to cure my acne though. "

For Birth Control "This is a good birth control pill! I've been on Yasmin for a couple years and it has never failed on me. I also took it for acne but that was hit or miss. I go through periods where my skin is clear and then periods where my skin is bad. If I wasn't on Yasmin though, my skin would be 10x worse! In addition, my periods have gotten very light and only last 4 days. No mood swings, no nausea, no headaches. I truly recommend this pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have taken this pill for 7 years and my gyno recommended a lower dose pill (Yaz). Yasmin has done wonders for PCOS symptoms of acne, weight gain and overall mood issues. I am 45 years old and do not smoke. Overall, it has been an amazing pill."

For Acne "I'm 19 years old and I have been using Yasmin for 4 months. I started using Yasmin because I saw it was working tremendously for other people. A week after I started my skin was great then I had a breakout. It hasn't disappeared since, instead its making the rest of my skin lighter. I'm worried whether it is working for me or I'm just impatient."

For Acne "I have suffered acne over the past couple of years. I was on the implant and decided to come off as I put it down to being hormonal. I have tried most shop bought cleansers etc and I found that nothing was working. The doctor put me onto the Yasmin pill and after 3 months of using it all of my spots have cleared up. I get the occasional spot but my skin is no longer inflamed, painful or covered in spots. I would also recommend benzoyl peroxide cream. I don’t normally write reviews but after what I’ve been through I would love to help other people. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I have been on Lucette AKA Yasmin for 14 months. I initially went on this to control my acne as it was a real bad flare up. My skin has been perfect the ONE good thing. Now for the bad points - Sex drive has been more or less non existent for the whole duration. - I have experienced some excruciating migraines with temporary visual disturbances. I have also experienced enlarged veins with leg pains which have been really frightening since this pill carries a high risk of DVT & PE. I did mention this to the practice nurse but they still allowed me to take it? I have had and still at this very moment am suffering with incredible depression and anxiety. My mood is so so low. I haven’t felt like this in my life With regards to mental health. I have no desire to socialise and have completely and utterly cut myself off. I wish I had never taken this pill and I will never use any form of contraceptive pill with hormones ever again. Please do NOT start this pill."

For Acne "I am surprised how fast people give up on this pill. It can take up to 2-6 months for any birth control pill to eradicate acne. I'm taking Yasmin to prevent acne on my scalp. It took 1 month to work. I really like this pill."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started talking this pill 1.5 month ago for PMDD. I still have PMS to some degree but my mood is SO MUCH BETTER! I was really sceptic to take this at first because of all the negative experiences I read, but I gave it a try anyway.. I feel like I am myself again. I feel happier, am less anxious (which was severe), I can handle stressful situations better. My sex drive has gone up because I’m not always in pain or depressed anymore. I still need to take it longer to notice full effects, but the ones I’ve already noticed are life changing for me. I am so much more confident about myself. I don’t feel “puffy” anymore. No more swollen stomach. My acne is not gone (yet) but is a LOT better than it used to be. My wounds heal better. My skin looks more moisturised and clear. I have more energy,… the only downside is that I’m very tired in the morning. I will come back for update after 3 months of taking it"

For Birth Control "I was suffering with bad PMS from the day I ovulated to the day I finished bleeding, Bad pain, depression, mood swings. I've been on other hormones but symptoms of depression and bloating would become worse, I also have PCOS. I started Yasmin with the intension to take it back to back to stop my period and it has worked well for me. I feel happier and better in my moods, love not having a period and I've got less facial hair. The only side effects are tender breasts (but this is lessening) and some headaches in the beginning, also the skin on my jaw gets a bit itchy but other than that it's been good, no weight gain or bloating. I'm aware of the risk of blood clots, I don't smoke and live an active lifestyle so hoping this helps as I would like to stay on this pill for as long as I can, I'm 33 and not planning a future pregnancy. If you have had bad reactions to other forms of contraception it's worth a try. It's helped me a lot so far where other hormones have made me feel worse."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I've been on Yasmin for about a month and a half now. I didn't experience any side effects for the first two weeks of taking it, and then gradually I started feeling more moody, irritable and depressed. My sex drive also went away around the time it would normally be in overdrive. I haven't gotten any acne from this pill, nor weight gain. I did notice that I wasn't nearly as crazy just before my period like normal, so it has helped with actual PMDD so far. I'm now halfway through my second month on it, and it actually seems better so far. My sex drive has improved and I haven't been moody or depressed. Still no acne or weight gain. I think this pill just takes time to adjust to your body for some people."

For Birth Control "I've taken depo for about 5 years I have a very serious large amount of cyst in both my ovaries, a few Dr. have told me I have PCOS and I use to be in alot of pain from the cyst. My Dr. sugested surgery to remove my ovaries, so I went to a different Dr. My new Dr. prescribed be Yasmin as a birth control instead of the Depo I've been taking, it was so it would stop me from ovulating at all and sure enoughf within a month the pain was gone. Yasmin helped me get rid of my ovarian cyst problem."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Yasmin for about 9 months now. I have been experiencing horrible depression, been in such a dark place and not caring about anything at all. I’m a very lively and outgoing person, nothing in my life is wrong but I’m having these feelings. I don’t smoke, nor drink, nor take any other medication so it must be the pill. I’m expecting my period in two days and then I will never take the contraceptive pill again. After having two kids I have pleaded with my husband to get the snip and I’ve categorically said that I’m not going back on medication as I’m seriously loosing my sanity. In a way, I hope to god that it is the pill so I stop feeling the way that I have. It’s been so so hard and I just want to feel happy again."

For Acne "I first went on Yasmin 12 years ago to start before I was to start Roaccutane. I could see my skin improving in a matter of days. The pill was so effective for my skin I never had to use the Roaccutane. I didn't have any bad side effects, I have found this pill brilliant for my skin. But everyone is different. I decided to come off the pill as I was 39 yrs and in 8 months my skin deteriorated so today I am back on the pill. It's a wonder pill for my skin. Hopefully my skin will adjust as I continue to mature. Looking forward to clear skin again!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Yasmin as I read that it helped with severe PMS and didn’t cause weight gain. In short, thought I was dying when taking this. A list of the symptoms I was experiencing, which have gone since I stopped taking it: Extreme fatigue (big into my fitness and I couldn’t do a 10 minute walk at times) Extreme emotions (crying, depression) whilst feeling numb and disconnected. Joint pain, knees especially Muscle pain and shooting pains in arms and legs. DOMS would last 5 days instead of 1 day. Weight gain - over a stone Constant nausea Night sweats Anxiety and chest pains, regular heart palpitations Declining kidney function Painful, swollen feet Bleeding under the skin Bad headaches Sore eyes and blurred vision Hair loss and brittle, broken nails Please reconsider taking this pill, I think it’s awful. now on the copper IUD and I’ll take the very painful periods any day over how I felt on Yasmin."

For Birth Control "I started taking the Yasmin pill two months ago because I saw how clear my friends skin got and because I had problems with acne but it wasn’t that severe. Within the first week of intake my mom could already see the difference in my skin and I got compliments from people which really did make me happy, until the 7 day break it was torturous endless anxiety, depression, confusion, mood swings I just wasn’t great company and it did have an effect on my mental health. The worst part is that you need help but from where will it come from because your mind is a war zone. Pretty hurts."
