For Conjunctivitis, Bacterial "Been using the dexamethasone with tobramycin eye drops about 3 days. Woke up today, and one of my eye's lower lid was swollen. After I put drops in and waited the 2 minutes as directed, my lower lid flipped! Been swollen and felt odd all day. Just did another dose, and the same thing happened. My eye doctor's office is closed (weekend), and I am thinking I should discontinue. Anyone else have this problem?"

Dexamethasone / tobramycin ophthalmic for Conjunctivitis, Bacterial "I was prescribed TobraDex drops for chronic dry eye syndrome and conjunctivitis. I developed a severe allergic reaction. My eyelids and under eye got swollen, red, itchy, and developed small bumps. I had raccoon eyes. I stopped the drops and went to my doctor. I was put on cortisone."

For Postoperative Ocular Inflammation "I was prescribed this medication 4x a day for 4 weeks after cataract surgery. I had pain, stinging, aching, and swollen eyelids but put this down to surgery and healing. After 4 days, breathing was restricted and felt like an asthma attack (I don’t have asthma). The surgeon said that an allergy was impossible, changed the steroid to one without additives. Breathing became worse and I was given antibiotics and Ventolin inhaler. Told I may have COPD. After 3 weeks I stopped the drops, after 2 days breathing started to recover but eyes dry and aching. I had to take the drops again for 4 weeks, I took them again and after 7 days I could not breathe again, I stopped them, my surgeon said again it’s impossible. I had to have the second cataract operation and again used Dexamethasone drops at the surgeon's request, within days my mood was very depressive, aggressive, unable to breathe, bronchospasms. Demanded NSAIDs drops and all was perfect. I just don’t tolerate steroids."

Dexamethasone / tobramycin ophthalmic for Conjunctivitis, Bacterial "Not effective for eye infection. It's still bad as it was! I have an allergic reaction. I have an eye swollen, red, and a lot of bumps around the eye. Negative experience!"
