For Uveitis "I have been using Maxidex since my uveitis started in 2020. I have found this is the only medication that keeps it at bay. I have tried Pred Forte but found that it wasn’t as strong for my condition. I would say like every medication there are side effects. So be sure to monitor this if you are taking it for the first/long period of time."

For Conjunctivitis "I was in a coma for 3 weeks. When I eventually got home, I woke up on the 3rd morning to total blindness in my left and only partial sight in the other. After invasive investigation, it was decided that it was a very rare fungal infection probably caused by a central line. I had the majority of the infection removed, but it left me with cataracts. During the course of all this, I have been applying Maxidex, 2 drops every morning along with other eye drops. I think it has helped a lot. I continue to apply it and am due to have the cataract removed in November. That means I'll be able to see by Christmas, all being well. I have the original surgeon to thank for my sight. He had been in the business 35 years and had never seen the kind of infection."

For Conjunctivitis "I had pterygium removed from both eyes, and I got a sinus infection two weeks after surgery. After lots of sneezing after administering eye drops, I was told to use them for six weeks. After another two weeks, I have sinus issues again, which has now developed into a chesty cough as well. Has anyone else experienced this?"

For Uveitis "Maxidex has been prescribed for me over the last 13+ years for recurring uveitis. While it is very effective in quickly calming the inflammation, over the years, I have developed cataracts and optic nerve damage that can lead to glaucoma. Both known side effects. During my current use, it has caused eye pressure to go up. And still, they continue prescribing it, saying the side effects of not calming the inflammation quickly are just as bad. Without Maxidex, the inflammation subsides over a period of 2-3 weeks using hot and cold compresses. I’ve been told that the longer it takes for the inflammation to subside, the more harm it does. So I have to continue using it each time my uveitis flares up."
