Dasatinib for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia "Shortness of breath, life is not the same, attitude is positive, but I can't be me, tired a lot, yet can't sleep. My levels have hit normal! Thank you, then I found out I will be on some form of meds my whole life. I will never feel 100%, but I get to live."

Dasatinib for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia "Achieved complete molecular remission within six months of daily 100 mg of Sprycel. Reduced dose to 50 mg a day at six months due to side effects. The longer I was on it, the worse they became. Shortness of breath caused by pleural effusion, body pain, all-over itching, acne-like rash on face and scalp, and some hair loss at the very beginning of treatment. It was a good drug to kill the cancer cells, but it reduced my quality of life drastically. Have started Gleevec with few expected side effects, except for major vertigo. Taken off Gleevec for two weeks and told to restart at 200 mg a day to rechallenge. I won't be able to live alone if vertigo is a daily side effect. Glad to be in remission, but hate side effect sickness."

For Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia "I've been very happy with Sprycel for more than three years now. However, these last few months I've been experiencing various symptoms which I believe are related to this medicine. I have bone pain that no doctor is explaining, I often have some difficulty breathing, and I feel tired all the time. Nevertheless, I would not choose to change Sprycel; I have tried four types of medications, of which this was the only one I faced no side effect troubles with."

For Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia "Diagnosed (early detection) with CML (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemias) July 2019, immediately put onto 400 mg of Imatinib. First two weeks great, nothing, then after three weeks, severe muscle and bone pain. Had to switch (wondering if a lower dose will end up being the trick). Anyway, moved to 50 mg Dasatinib, severe itching and chest/upper body muscular pains, lowered to 25 mg (half dose). Side effects lessened, still present is itching occasionally, muscle issues all but gone (thank God), however, now developing shortness of breath, which is troubling... even with little to no real exertion on myself (a simple walk up stairs can cause it). Side effects suck, but it beats the alternative - 3-month molecular test coming up end of October - will know if it's impacting the Phl+ chromosome..."

For Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia "Diagnosed late 2005. Started Gleevec, sick as a dog, got over that but was very hard on my stomach. In remission 2007. Bone and joint pain bad. Cramps in ribs. 2013 started Sprycel. No nausea but bone and joint pain. 2015 at doctor complaining short of breath. Tests all normal. 2017 in hospital twice from getting a severe infection from other immunos for PsA. Resting saturations high 80s low 90s and pleural effusion. Second time effusion worse than the month before. Not enough to drain but still short of breath, low saturations at rest. Finally decided it's the Sprycel, so back on Gleevec. Been off Sprycel for a month. I am feeling much better but saturations still very low. If any of you had low saturations, how long after stopping Sprycel before you got better?"
