For Heart Attack "Suffered a heart attack 12 years ago, then 2 weeks ago suffered severe angina, got scared, went to the ER, they ran tests and told me my arteries were severely clogged, needed stents put in, had the stents put in, they put me on Plavix, told me I would be on it for life. Well, it's been 3 weeks now on the Plavix, love it, so far no side effects."

For Ischemic Stroke "I'm not having any luck with Plavix! Was prescribed it and a baby aspirin after having a mini-stroke. Had nosebleeds right off. Doctor said drop the aspirin. I did, but still had nosebleeds! Started taking Plavix every other day, and now I woke up at 4 am with excruciating upper stomach pain! I'm done with it. I'll try the aspirin, but done with Plavix!"

For Heart Attack "I've been using Plavix for a couple of years now since I had 2 angioplasties. It works just fine. However, some of the drawbacks are: - easy bruising and long recovery time - easy bleeding from injuries, so don't take chances - my doctor told me I'd have to take Plavix for the rest of my life - cost is no concern since my insurance pays all but $9.00 per month."

For Ischemic Stroke "I've had two strokes and multiple TIAs. After the first stroke, I could not tolerate it, but I was drinking alcohol (not very bright). I stopped drinking, and then had a brain stem stroke and am on this forever, along with a baby aspirin. It's possible they'll add another blood thinner for periods of a flutter, but that's to be determined. I am tolerating it well, although I bruise easily, and am very happy with my regimen."

"I was prescribed Plavix as a precautionary measure after an aortic heart valve replacement. I was doing great, sent home with several medications as a standard precaution. Within a few days, I started feeling like I was having a heart attack all day long, and it progressively got worse over the next 2 weeks. Stopped each medication one at a time, and it was the Plavix that caused it. The doctor tried me on Brilinta, and it was even worse. Took me off the 2 medications, but baby aspirin, now I'm back to normal within 3-4 days."

"I believe Plavix caused me anemia after less than 3 months. No bleeding, inside or out (confirmed by colonoscopy and endoscopy), but severely lowered Fe, Hb, and Hct levels. Started taking iron; in 15 days, anemia disappeared and energy returned in abundance."

For Percutaneous Coronary Intervention "The doctor put me on Clopidogrel/Plavix 75 mg tablets, 1 tablet by mouth every day since my stent 3 years ago. I was taken off Plavix 3 weeks ago by my heart doctor, and now I'm not experiencing the shortness of breath I had. I had no clue this was what was causing my shortness of breath."

For Acute Coronary Syndrome "2004 single bypass followed by seven stents over 6 years, I've been on Plavix since the start and remain on it today. After 8 years, no problems from the medication. Now at 64, I continue to golf and ride bicycle, all at a moderate pace."

For Percutaneous Coronary Intervention "Have been on Plavix since 1/11 following ant. myocardial infarction with stents. Experienced moderate bruising. Have been taking generic medicine for the past 2 months, but I am experiencing severe bruising. Will be seeing a cardiologist in Oct. to get a medically necessary prescription for brand Plavix."

"Don't like the tendency to bruise and bleed, but this keeps me alive. Had an ischemic clot in my small intestine and had a bowel resection. Docs found a hole between chambers in my heart that was allowing small clots to circulate. Choices were open-heart surgery or go on Plavix and aspirin. Price is a bit steep and keeps going up."

For Ischemic Stroke "In 2010, I had a moderate (ha ha) stroke that was eventually attributed to a newly discovered PFO. Was put on aspirin first, then warfarin after some odd neurological symptoms a couple of months later. Hated it. Four months later, was enrolled in a study of PFO closure and streamed into the medical arm, meaning Plavix. Been on it since. Had a couple of minor neurological symptoms along the way (global amnesia), but otherwise have done well, live normally, and have no complaints. Now age 65."

For Heart Attack "Easy to bruise, a bit of a bleeder, but I'm still alive after 2 years. Other clogged arteries are stable. Good news... I've been also told I'm a lifer. No side effects that I can tell other than the minor ones above."

For Heart Attack "I had a heart attack July 7th this year. What a surprise that was. I had wonderful doctors, and they prescribed Plavix. I was told I will need to take it for the rest of my life. I had two stents and damage to the back of my heart. I feel much better now and will for sure take my Plavix."

For Platelet Aggregation Inhibition "I've been taking omeprazole for quite some time prior to being prescribed Plavix, but NONE of the health professionals involved in my treatment have advised me to cease the omeprazole, even though it's regarded as unwise to. This worries me, and I have ceased on my own accord until I can access my GP!"

For Peripheral Arterial Disease "5 months ago, I started feeling a heartburn-like pain in the AM. Without any questions, I called the EMS. Less than a half hour later, I was told I was having a heart attack. Two stents later, at 81% clogged arteries, I was told Plavix and aspirin would be with me forever. To this day, it has been working GREAT."

For Transient Ischemic Attack "After my VAD stroke, I am on Plavix. I have a toddler that I still nurse. I looked up Plavix for several days and talked to several doctors. Some said it was fine, some said it was not okay. After talking to so many people about it, I felt that it seemed okay to nurse on. I've been on it for a month, and yesterday I realized that my 2-year-old is constipated. We are weaning ASAP now because I don't know what else it's doing to him, but it's definitely getting through. I just wanted to post this somewhere for other nursing moms to see. We are currently only nursing two times a day right now."

For Heart Attack "I was put on Plavix after a heart attack and had no bad side effects at all. However, I did have 2 more heart attacks while taking Plavix and am now on warfarin. My doctor took part in a drug genetic test, which showed Plavix has zero effect on me, and sadly there are others that this drug just doesn't work for, so get tested and make sure it is safe for you. If Plavix works for you, it's a safe drug."

For Heart Attack "Heart attack 2010. Stent in right coronary artery (RCA). Was on brand name Plavix for 6 years, 75 mg. Switched to generic 2 years ago. I have noticed bruises, and my ALT (liver enzyme) has gone up. The first time ever. I am a phlebotomist. Trying to find coupon for brand name coupon."

For Ischemic Stroke "For nursing moms looking for answers and reviews on breastfeeding and being on Plavix (clopidogrel), I was told this drug has never been tested for nursing moms, and they recommended I quit nursing. Another doctor thought I should be okay, so I have nursed for 6 months on this medicine, had my baby’s blood drawn twice, and the baby is completely fine!"

For Heart Attack "I'm 30 years old. I had a heart attack 1 year ago, and I have 2 stents. I used Effient for 1 year, and then my doctor changed the pill from Effient to Plavix. I have been using Plavix + Coraspin for 1 year. I haven't had any problems. I love it."

For Heart Attack "I had stents and triple bypass in 2019, have taken Plavix and low dose Aspirin since then. No issues on Plavix except for easily bruising. I am switching to Vazalore 81mg to see if this works better for inflamed stomach caused by these two meds. Cannot take PPI as it depletes bone mass over time. I just turned 70 and am happy to say Plavix has worked so far."
