Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "The stuff is nuclear. I hated it, but it cleaned me out big time. Second dose gave me a huge headache, nausea, dry heaves, dizziness, sweats, chills, and fear. I was totally cleaned out. Third colonoscopy, but first and last time on this."

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "Within an hour of drinking that nasty stuff (worst taste of any prep I've ever drank), I puked my guts out. Was sick all night. Had to start the second bottle at 4 a.m. I took the first drink and puked again, then every drink after. I had to reschedule my colonoscopy because I never went poop due to puking it all up! Would never use this product again!!!"

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "I was absolutely terrified and a wreck with worry for 2 weeks before the colonoscopy. It was all for nothing. Clenpiq is amazing. I didn't think the taste was bad at all. I followed the directions to the letter and had NO nausea, cramps, or vomiting. It was gentle and barely fazed me. Several trips to the bathroom, not super urgent, flushed me out completely. The first bottle took 90 minutes to 'kick in,' and the second bottle took about an hour. Colonoscopy itself went great, hospital staff was super nice, I have no recollection of it -- came out of anesthesia feeling good. The worst part of the entire thing was the liquid diet the day before -- I was starving and weak but got through it. I know everyone's different, but for me, Clenpiq was truly a miracle drug, and I will definitely use it without hesitation if I have to do this again. Insurance partially paid, and my cost was $50. So worth it!"

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "I chose a prescription for Clenpiq vs. Miralax/Gatorade, and I wish I had not. I did not mind the sweet/salty taste much for the first bottle. Started at 6 pm, drank about 48 fl oz of water within a few hours, and had one bowel motion (BM) at about 10:30 pm. Then it got bad! I woke up at 4 am to take the second bottle, and my whole body was extremely fatigued, and my joints seemed achy and head foggy. I had nausea, stalled on the second bottle, and suddenly vomited at about 4:30-5 am, which severely burned my throat. I could not go back to sleep and tried getting the second bottle down at 6:30 am but threw it up within 5-10 minutes. I wish I had gone with the non-RX Miralax/Gatorade prep!"

For Bowel Preparation "Cost me $153! 1st 'scheduled' colonoscopy... which couldn't be done! Had me try this as I throw up on p. glycol/Miramax. Took split dose and saw I'd be up all night. I did everything to the T, was way more hydrated than needed thankfully. Already concerned because I had 2 solid bowel motions (BM) just on a liquid diet. 1st did 6:00 p.m. kind of gross but doable, worked in 45 min,...by 10:30 p.m. 11 liquid BM, but not clear and none massive. 2nd dose to be at 2 a.m. but at 11:30 p.m. started throwing up violently. Then becoming dehydrated. Every hour tried a sip of water and still throwing up at 2 a.m. Although I had 1 or 2 yellowish movements earlier, the lasts were still dark. Appointment at 7:30 a.m., couldn't drink 2nd, so dr canceled. Now 6 days later and bowels still not moving, even after a healthy diet, lots of figs, and magnesium citrate for 2 nights. Lots of lower back pain lately has me wondering. Finally eked out 2 very small solid pieces and covered in some weird whitish mucousy stuff? NEVER AGAIN!!!"

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "1st colonoscopy and was terrified of the prep, but it was pleasant. I'll break down my review by taste, dose 1, and dose 2. Taste: Loved it. I don't understand the bad reviews about taste or why people need a straw or to sip on a lemon. I did not need those. The cranberry taste was great! My suggestion for your 1st time: Test it out by first taking a sip without the straw or lemon. Also, some people refrigerate it to make it taste better. It cannot be refrigerated. It tastes fine warm, a little salty taste, but 90% sweet. Dose 1: This was harder for me of the 2 doses. I finished the bottle within 30 mins, started pooping 15 min later, and then pooped for 4 hours. I got nauseous, threw up, had a headache, and had bad sweats, but that's not Clenpiq's fault. Those are normal side effects of any prep. Don't blame Clenpiq. Dose 2: Started at 6 AM. Bottle done by 6:30. Clear liquids done by 8:30 AM. No side effects! Really pleasant. Result: My diarrhea was yellow as expected. The colonoscopy went well."

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "I am a 125 lb 59 yr old female that used Clenpiq for my third colonoscopy. I had used Prepopik for the prior two with no issues. The taste for me was neither good nor bad and actually easy to drink. Drank a glass of juice and then a glass of sparkling water. In half an hour had started to work. After one hour started low-grade headache and nausea/vomiting. Was concerned but since not too bad I pushed through for another two hours by taking a bath and laying on the bathroom floor. Felt better hour 4 and drank the rest of fluids, avoiding the sparkling water as my stomach was very gassy. No problems with the second dose. It is day 4 after my colonoscopy and my insides are still gurgling. This did not occur the other two times with the Prepopik. Wish that med had been available."

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "I took the split dose at 8:00 pm. Within an hour, I was sick to my stomach. At 1:30, I started throwing up while sitting on the toilet. I have not felt so nauseous in a long time. At 2:30 am, I was scheduled to take another dose, which I promptly started throwing up. I was still very nauseated until the colonoscopy at 7:30 am. I am now scheduled for another colonoscopy because the bowels were not clean enough in 5 years, even though there were no polyps or any other issues. I will never have another colonoscopy because of my experience."

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "I was nervous about taking this prep for the taste since I’ve done this multiple times. What I wasn’t prepared for were the side effects! I’m 5’4 and wondering if even the one bottle was too much for me. Within twenty minutes of taking, I was throwing up violently and lost consciousness. Luckily, my boyfriend was home because he had to hold me up while I puked, and my vision was completely black! Horrific experience. Definitely did what it was supposed to, but I have never been so scared in my life. I thought I was having a seizure at one point!"

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "This is by far the worst liquid a human can ingest. I vomited from the nausea it caused. I don’t even know if I can make it through half of the 2nd bottle (bariatric patient - 5 years out)."

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "It was simply awful. It’s sickeningly sweet. I had violent vomiting following the second bottle, even though I drank a lot of water. I vomited all the way up to my procedure. Never again!"

Citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate for Bowel Preparation "It’s 3:45 AM, and I am gagging on my second bottle of this! The company has got to come up with a better taste because there’s no way this tastes like cranberry. The first bottle was hard enough. I have tried using a straw, and it doesn’t help. I have tried squeezing lemon juice in my mouth after each sip to no avail. I wish they hadn’t discontinued Prepopik. That was the best prep."
