For Bowel Preparation "It was an $80 co-pay but worked well for me with only five 8-oz cups of water in the evening and three in the morning. I wouldn't be able to drink a gallon of alternative medication with gastritis. Important to follow instructions and mix the powder with water for at least 2-3 minutes, otherwise, you will have nausea. It becomes warm when mixed. Set multiple alarms/look at the clock to drink water in recommended intervals. You will likely get irritation of your butt from flushing out. Be prepared with Vaseline/A&D ointment and warm water baths to relieve the symptoms. I scheduled the appointment for 12:30 pm, which was the latest available to avoid getting up at night, as you need a few hours for your morning dose to finish working."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a 46-year-old female, 120 lbs, and overall in very good physical health. I was prescribed Clenpiq, day-before regimen. Prep morning, I drank water hourly starting at 9 AM. 1st bottle of Clenpiq at 3 PM. Tasted weird, sweet drink, but palatable (not cranberry). Kept drinking liquids hourly: plain and coconut water, beef broth (“dinner”), Gatorade. Took 90 minutes for movement, gentle liquid diarrhea (like turning on a faucet), not explosive or painful like a stomach bug. 2 Dulcolax tabs at 6:30 PM. 10 PM, drank 2nd Clenpiq. Was difficult and had to drink in tiny sips, with sips of water in between to minimize foulness and a warm, uncomfortable sensation in my chest. Drank slowly so I wouldn’t become nauseous. 3 more glasses of water/coconut water until 12:45 AM. I was cleaned out and had a headache. Slept from 1 AM to 6 AM. Doctor said prep was very good and procedure was successful. My advice: follow directions closely, go on a reduced-volume clean diet before prep, and hydrate a lot!"

For Bowel Preparation "My dad passed away from colon cancer so I'm at high risk. This was my 6th colonoscopy but first with Clenpiq. We all know that the prep is worse than the actual procedure. No prep will be easy but this one seemed to be better than others in the past. My appointment time is Monday at 6 am, so I started the first bottle at 2 pm Sunday just to be sure. With other preps, I started later and was up all night. It started working at 5 pm. It did give me an awful headache but might have also been from coffee withdrawal today (I can't drink coffee black). Decided to drink Mountain Dew since it's okay and has caffeine and feel better. Started the second bottle at 8 pm and could only get half in. Felt too nauseated and didn't want to get sick. I seem to be almost “clear” and ready for tomorrow."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 53, and this was my third colonoscopy. I did not do well with the bowel preps from my first two colonoscopies. I had difficulty keeping the prep solution down, and it made me sick for a week after the procedures. In comparison, Prepopik was fantastic. It was still a bowel prep, but a lot less traumatic on my system. The taste wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. I only had one small BM with the first dose and worried that it wasn't working, but the second dose kicked my system into gear. I took it at 10 pm, but was able to fall asleep around 1:00 am. The other preps kept me up all night. I won't be signing up for extra colonoscopies, but Prepopik will make the mandatory ones much easier! Thank you!"

For Bowel Preparation "In the middle of prepping for colonoscopy. Started morning drinking lots of water. Then had 4 Ducalax tablets. Bowel was soft, but no diarrhea. Then I took my first bottle of Clenpiq. It gave me a headache, and then I threw up. Sat back on the toilet, and bowel was a cross between sluggish and diarrhea. Not looking forward to taking the second bottle."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep is certainly easier because it is just two small bottles to drink. Unfortunately, by the time I was ready to drink the second bottle, I was nauseated. You must drink lots of water with it. Two days later, and I still feel the awful side effects: headache, sore stomach, and some nausea. I think I preferred the older preps. You started them earlier, and there were fewer side effects, if any."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed this for a diagnostic colonoscopy to investigate bleeding and loose bowels. I was assigned the split-dose prep, where you take one dose in the evening and the other the morning of the exam. The first 5-ounce drink was easy to swallow, and I was able to follow it with 5 cups of the clear liquid of choice - I chose two water, one chicken stock, one ginger ale, and one Gatorade. After an hour, the effects kicked in. I didn't experience any cramping or nausea. I went to bed two hours after taking it and got up about once an hour for the next four hours. I was running clear at this time and considered skipping dose two. Instead, I took half the second dose and fluids. I was perfectly clear for the exam."

For Bowel Preparation "To anyone panicking if it's been hours and nothing has happened: don't worry. I came here reading these reviews and started freaking out because I have a colonoscopy tomorrow, was supposed to have Colyte, it was out of stock, so I had to take Prepopik, and after 7 hours it hadn't started working yet. Even the Colyte took about 3 hrs to start working, but this one, I did everything right, drank all the liquids after, and nothing happened for 7 hours! I was ready to call the whole procedure off in the morning and was so stressed, but as soon as I took the second packet followed by the 3 8 oz. doses of liquids after the last drop of the 3rd 8 oz., it kicked in. It's not over yet, but it seems to be doing the job. Colyte was so disgusting to drink so much of and made me very nauseous. This one, however, you barely have to drink anything, it doesn't taste bad, and I had less nausea. I wish you all well and speedy recoveries to those suffering from these terrible diseases."

For Bowel Preparation "I have to have scopes yearly, so I've tried several different types of preps. After trying Prepopik, I will never use anything else! It's the only thing that doesn't make me nauseous, and also not having to drink much of it to get the job done is awesome! I will say that you have to make sure that the solution gets warm before drinking it, or it won't work as well. I think the frustration comes from people not reading the directions. :) Prepopik is amazing!"

For Bowel Preparation "Used Prepopik for the first time. I must say it worked very well for me. First dose and I was on the commode in less than 45 minutes. The amount that you need to take is not bad and the taste is tolerable. Before the second dose four hours later, I began to feel nauseated, which lasted through the second dose, making it very hard to drink the additional required amount of clear liquids. I fought the urge to vomit for about 5 or 6 hours but managed to keep it down. Overall, I was satisfied when my doctor told me my colon was very clean from the prep. I will be a little anxious the next time if I use Prepopik because of the extreme nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a 23-year-old female weighing 120 pounds. I have ulcerative colitis, pancreatitis, and gastroparesis, so I’ve been getting colonoscopies/endoscopies regularly since I was 17 when I was diagnosed. I usually use Prepopik, and it has always been easy to drink and easy on my stomach. This year, my doctor decided to have me try Clenpiq instead. She gave me a sample box, so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket for it. I took a Zofran before the first dose and drank the bottle in about a half hour. The taste wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t easy either. I only produced two movements in the span from 5 pm to 2 am. I drank the second bottle, it was easier to drink than the first one, but I threw it up about 20 minutes after finishing it. I laid in bed with a stomach ache and nausea the rest of the night with only one more movement. This is the worst experience I’ve had with prep so far. I wouldn’t suggest this product."

For Bowel Preparation "I am 54 years old and in excellent health. I followed my doctor's orders leading up to taking this drug and only had clear liquids on the day before my colonoscopy. I took the first dose at noon and drank water as instructed. After 45 minutes, the cleansing started, but so did horrible side effects. I had a severe headache, extreme nausea, vomiting, and weakness. I was in agony for the next 4 hours when it was time for the second dose. I merely took two sips and vomited. I was very sick until midnight (12 hours) only after ingesting the first dose and had to cancel my procedure. It is 5 am the next morning, and I still don't feel well. I don't recommend this to anyone. Not worth the risk."

For Bowel Preparation "Only two small bottles, but geez, it tastes bad; sickly sweet and nauseating. I used a straw to try and direct it towards the back of my mouth; tried Cepacol lozenges to numb the taste buds; tried seltzer to try and make it more tolerable, perhaps with some improvement. Sprite and apple juice just made things worse. It did clean me out for my colonoscopy (though I wasn't able to finish the morning bottle) with a minimal amount of cramping, but, ugh, I don't know that I would use it again."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my third colonoscopy. Previous preps made me extremely nauseous, so I had great hopes for Clenpiq. I took the first dose, which tasted okay, and drank the clear liquids as prescribed. But there was no action. Finally had some success after 2 1/2 hours, but it was normal. Went to bed and had the 'dam breaking' after 8 hours! By that time, the second dose was due, but I was still going on the toilet. Colonoscopy was not wholly successful since they couldn’t get past the sigmoid colon. Clenpiq just didn’t work for me."

For Bowel Preparation "Very poor results if you have a sluggish colon (as I do). I do not recommend this product - as 'great-tasting' as it is. This was my 2nd colonoscopy, and I failed it in spite of 1 week of Miralax 2x a day, and a 2-day liquid diet - 3 days liquid, and put myself on a 3-day low-residue diet. I had read how pleasant tasting the prep was, and yes folks, it tastes like the powdered 'Tang,' followed by the standard for colonoscopy preps - lots of water, which wasn't difficult as I usually drink a minimum of 8-10 ounce glasses a day. I thought I was completely clear, but NOOOOO - still going! Thumbs down. Back to GAG Go-Lightly next time (with a Compazine to prevent nausea). Doctor gave me the prep - fortunately, didn't have to buy it."

For Bowel Preparation "I took Clenpiq to prepare for a colonoscopy. The taste was very salty and sweet, and I had to dilute it with water and use a chaser to get it down. It made me a little nauseous drinking it, but I got it down regardless. It was very effective, one bottle had run me almost clean. Then, getting ready for bed around 10:30, I started feeling very sick and uneasy. I stayed up over the toilet. I could not get the bottle down the next morning. Thinking about the taste now still makes me feel like I’m going to get sick."

For Bowel Preparation "Train wreck of a prep. Chose it because it was a small amount of liquid in 2 doses, and everything I read led me to believe that it wouldn’t cause nausea…and it didn’t. I took it at the correct time and waited. Finally, 2 1/2 hours later, I had to go, but it ended up being solid. I waited about another hour before I needed to go again. I had been eating a crockpot chili that had corn in it…eating it daily for weeks. Most of what was coming out was the corn. There must have been a 5 lb bag in me. Finally, around 2:30 AM, the corn stopped. I had my colonoscopy and was told they didn’t find anything to biopsy, and I was sent home. Didn’t sleep a wink the night before, but a good report was worth it. When I got home, I had to go 2 more times, and the corn showed up again! Two weeks later, I went to the doctor for a follow-up, and she told me it was the worst prep ever. I have to do a repeat in 1 yr because she couldn’t get a clear look for all the debris!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was excited at first by the idea of having less prep to drink. But, unfortunately, it made me extremely nauseated for hours on end. I prefer 'Go lightly' for colonoscopy prep. The diluted was much easier on my stomach in retrospect, despite having more volume to drink rather than the concentrated Clenpiq."

For Bowel Preparation "I had a colonoscopy due to Cologuard (+). Doc recommended pill form Sutab for bowel prep. Since I have trouble swallowing big pills, I requested liquid form and got Clenpiq. I like the taste. My appointment was 7:30 a.m. I was told to take the 1st dose at 5 p.m. and the 2nd dose at 2:30 a.m. Since I got an appointment that someone else had canceled (notified me 2 days ahead), I had no time to be well prepared. I started a low-fiber diet right away (be sure to search for what low-fiber foods are, not what I assumed), then clear liquid the day before. I took the 1st dose at 4 p.m., didn't have anything until 8:30 p.m. (near panic). Then I kept running stained watery stool till 12:30 a.m. I was exhausted and took the 2nd dose at 1 a.m. (worried bowel won't be cleaned) running until 3 a.m. Got 1.5 hrs sleep. Finally, I got clear water out, it means bowel prep is successful (doc proved). I had 8mm and 15mm polyps. I kick myself for not doing the colonoscopy earlier (I'm 58, 1st time test). I did have chills and nausea for 20 min (3 hrs after the 1st dose) subsided by lying on the bed and breathing."

For Bowel Preparation "Highly recommended! I had my 10-year routine colonoscopy screening this morning and did the Clenpiq prep last night. The prep I took for my first colonoscopy (GoLightly?) made me so sick — chills, nausea, vomiting — but Clenpiq (like its predecessor Prepopik) made it a relatively painless process — no cramping or nausea at all, and the volume of prep is small and tastes fine, much better than the other stuff. And it did the job, doc said my colon was super clean. Prepopik lets you choose your own liquid as the “chaser” (I find that coconut water goes down the easiest), which is much more palatable than the giant vats of prep you have to drink with most of the other options."

For Bowel Preparation "I have Crohn's disease, and this is my 5th colonoscopy. This stuff is nothing but garbage, and didn't clean out my colon at all. I know what my BM's are supposed to look like after a whole night of prepping, and I'm nowhere near ready for my colonoscopy in three hours. It made me nauseated, dizzy, and I had the worst headache imaginable. I've never experienced this much sickness from a bowel prep. It was also one hundred dollars. What a total waste. If my doctor tells me that I have to come back and do another one, I'm going to be irate. TELL YOUR DOCTOR YOU DO NOT WANT THIS BOWEL PREP. Ask for an alternative. I'd give it negative stars if I could."

I then got severe migraines to the point of almost going to the ER. The symptoms lasted well into the following day and even the day after."

For Bowel Preparation "Clenpiq was a great experience for me. I had previously used a different high-volume prep that wasn’t successful for me because I vomited most of it and couldn’t complete it. I took an anti-nausea med a half hour before I drank each bottle of Clenpiq. The flavor wasn’t great (think a strong multivitamin flavor), but I held my nose and chased the sips with ginger ale. I had no trouble drinking the required amounts of clear liquid afterward and was able to comfortably make it to the toilet when needed. I was able to sleep well between the split doses. The Clenpiq did its job and I had a successful procedure. Very thankful Clenpiq exists, and I will always use this for my yearly colonoscopies."

For Bowel Preparation "I like that it was premixed. Very convenient to just open a bottle and pour it in a glass. It is extremely sweet, kind of nauseating. Don't gulp it down, space out your sips so that you don't get nauseous. Works very, very fast, so be prepared. Once I started taking it, I was in the bathroom approximately every 5 to 10 minutes for quite a while. I had no cramping or discomfort of any kind. As long as it works, I would be fine to use it again in the future. The worst part really is the taste."
