Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This was my second colonoscopy. My first one I had no problems at all . This time I took CLENOIQ, and it has been a terrible experience. Other than the fact that it did cleanse me out, there is nothing else positive about this product. I took the first bottle at 3:30PM. The taste is absolutely putrid and lingers. But that is not the worst part of it. It started working about 2 hours after first dose, I also started having chills. Another couple hours later I was having very watery bowels, then nothing for an hour or so, so I went to bed. I woke up twice in the middle of the night in a puddle of water poop. Had to change and shower. After the second shower, I passed out. Thank goodness my husband was there. I felt terrible, lightheaded, nauseous, heart racing. As directed I took the second dose at 9am. For hours after the colonoscopy bad cramps. Had loose stools for 2 days and still feel "off" over a week later. This stuff was toxic to my body. NEVER AGAIN!!!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This was not my first colonoscopy, but my first time using Clenpiq. I followed a low-fiber, low-residue diet 2 days before prep. On prep day, I had fluids only. My first dose (split dose) was at 5 pm. I used a straw to drink straight from the bottle. It was not that bad. (Suprep, was much worse and a larger quantity to consume). Then, I had to drink 40 oz. of liquid over a period of 5 hours. Very easy for me to do; I was done in 2.5 hrs. I had no ill effects after taking the Clenpiq, no headache, no chills, no nausea (I had all of these with Suprep.) Clenpiq began "working" in about 30 minutes. I was in and out of the bathroom 4 to 5 times between 5:30 pm and 9 pm. Tips: do use A&D ointment and wet wipes. Also, if you have hemorrhoids, use Witch Hazel or Tucks. I was "done" by 11:00. Slept till 2 am and had my second dose at 2:30 am (basically a repeat). No issues with my colonoscopy. Two small polyps were removed. U don't have to do this again for 5 years. Hope this review is helpful!"

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I had a colonoscopy today and used Prepopik for bowel preparation. For my last colonoscopy several years ago, I had used Magnesium Citrate and found the Prepopik SO much easier to take, and my doctor said I had a nice, clean colon afterward. The way I took it, I didn't taste it, and it went down very easily. This is what I did: Before drinking the Prepopik, I had a small amount of ginger ale. I prepared the Prepopik with very cold water, and after stirring it as directed, I added a few ice cubes. Using a straw and HOLDING MY NOSE, I sucked that baby right down in several big gulps, and following a recommendation I saw on the internet, I immediately sucked on a lemon! Sounds weird, but it worked!! I seriously didn't taste the stuff!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I'm 58. Had my second colonoscopy yesterday. First one was seven years ago. Clenpiq did what it was supposed to do. Was it a pleasant experience? No, but it's not supposed to be. Although the instructions say to dilute the liquid, the instructions from my doctor were to drink it straight from the bottle and then follow it up with lots of clear liquid. The solution itself tastes pretty nasty. Like cherry syrup, only much worse. I suspect that it would be difficult to make something like this taste good. Even though I only managed to down half of the second dose, I was cleaned out very well. Overall, the drug did what it was supposed to do and I didn't get nauseous so I'd say that it turned out pretty well."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Horrible prep - would give it a zero if possible, didn't work well with me at all. It took about 1-2 hours before any movement, didn't clean very well. Had to start 2nd bottle a few hours after first. I drank lots of water with both bottles but felt like I was pooing shards of glass and crying most of the night - (Ouchy, Ouchy) - day 2 and I still can barely go without crying. I also passed out/fainted when taking this medicine and woke up with a rash on my stomach. I would say stay far, far away from this medication."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Tastes like sweet and salty chalk but I didn't mind. I am on 2nd bottle now. Tons of water and clear pedialyte so I have zero dehydration, no headaches or anything, no cramps, no nausea. Worried a bit because I only have a small amount of bowel movements that were just liquid and now nothing. That's it? Did it work? I go in for the colonoscopy in about 3 hours. I am up all night feeling like I gotta go but then don't. So we will see"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Not thrilled. I started off with two days of a low residue diet, then started the liquid diet (mainly watered down bone broth, Gatorade and Jello) 24 hours before my colonoscopy. I drank the first Clenpiq bottle at 5 pm as my doctor recommended. The first bottle tasted ok, not great but tolerable. I drank five cups of clear liquid after. No bloating or pain, just some liquidy BMs. Then I drank the second bottle at 9 pm plus four cups of liquid. From about 10 until 4 am I was up every 30-60 minutes to go to the bathroom. At 4 am my BMs still were fairly dark and my colon was not clear. I fell asleep until 6, then had to go to the store to buy two boxes of Fleet enemas and figure out how to use them. I wasn’t sure the first one did the trick so I used the second one. After that it was clear. My procedure that morning went well and the doctor said if I hadn’t used the enemas they would not have been able to do the colonoscopy. I hope there are better preps on the market!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This stuff has a pleasant taste, is easy to drink and gentle on the system. I was greatly relieved to discover these things. Other preps I've been made to use in the past were horrible in all ways. This one is simply a no-contest winner."

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I had my 5th colonoscopy today and I used Prepopik for the first time. In past props, I had horrible experiences with the different drinks that I had tried it. Several of them caused me to be very nauseous and even throw up but this was fantastic. I followed the directions for taking it twice in one evening and it worked perfectly. I was in the bathroom 45 minutes after the first drink and then went regularly from that point on. I was a little nervous that my output was not as clear as I would have liked but by the time of the procedure at 8 AM things were at a good point. The report I received from the doctor said that the prep was excellent and they could see everything clearly. I am so grateful to this company for developing a product that doesn't taste horrible and can be used in such a small amount."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Tasted fine, but failed to provide sufficient colon cleaning. Despite following the preparation guidelines fully, starting two hours early and drinking more than double the amount of water recommended, the Boston Bowel Prep Score was 1 out of 9."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Omg, the best bowl prep ever! I have used every prep out there and this is the best. I did not taste any flavor, although it was supposed to be cranberry. I get colonoscopies yearly and have to psych myself up to drink a gallon of disgusting prep. I drank the bottle straight then drank 40oz of water after. Then repeated for the second round. Drinking 8oz's of prep with no flavor is so much better than trying to drink down a gallon of nasty prep, which I usually throw up. Clenpiq stayed down, no gagging or throwing up. The only problem I had was a terrible headache which lasted until after my procedure. Thank you Clenpiq!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Awful experience. After drinking the first bottle, I vomited within 20 mins nonstop until it was completely out of my system. I did not have a bowel movement. I was nauseous and felt awful the rest of the night. I tried again in the morning, this time drinking it slowly, but vomited it up. Clenpiq is expensive and not worth it. If I had taken it earlier instead of 6pm, maybe I would have had enough time to recuperate to switch to MiraLax. Ugh, such a bummer to have to reschedule and go through the prep again. I wish I read reviews on it before taking it."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "It was the easiest prep I have tried. I used a straw to drink the first bottle as well as the second. I started at 1:00 and second bottle at 6:00. Slept through the night with no disturbances. Doc said I was totally cleaned out. I drank 50 ounces of liquids. Jello as well. Keep drinking white apple white cranberry and lemon jello"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "If you're reading this, chances are your doctor prescribed Clenpiq. I recently had a colonoscopy & the doctor had me use the Clenpiq. It's not cheap & insurance doesn't seem to cover it. I believe the price is roughly $150 & they gave it to me for $50. Hated it, but I trusted my doctor. On prep day I had black coffee & then water for breakfast. For lunch green "yuck" jello. Then back to water & diet 7up. At 3pm I slowly drank the first bottle. Nothing happened. After about two hours, "thar she blows!!" As an aside, have a tablet or laptop ready to watch movies or shows or whatever your choice. Back to the fun. I continued this pace the rest of the night. I got maybe a couple of hours sleep. Then 4 hours before the procedure, I drank bottle two. More bathroom time, but not nearly that much. I was done & had the procedure. Doctor said I was totally clean which is good because if you're not, you'll have to do it again. So a big thumbs up to Clenpiq. It worked for me."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I have heard nightmare stories of prepping for a colonoscopy, from family members. I was very hesitant. First of all, I don’t drink much water to begin with. I started the day before prep with a liquid diet. The next day I started my prep after more liquids during the day. The taste was sweet, taking the advice of reviews, I used a straw. I drank water right after, that was harder than drinking the prep for me. I switched to sprite, as it was easier for me to drink. I had first bowel movement within 20 minutes. I went every 10-15 minutes for about an hour, but didn’t have to run to the bathroom. I didn’t spend long in the bathroom when I did go. Trips to the bathroom, were further apart in time. I took the second dose and it was very much the same as the first. I never felt the rush to get into the bathroom, it wasn’t “violent” episodes as people had described. By the time I had to go to the hospital, about 35 minutes away, I was basically done."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This prep smells pleasant but is difficult to drink after the first swallow. It made me feel bloated and a little nauseated for 2-3 hours, and it took about 3 hours before it had some effect. The same thing happened with the second dose. On top of that, it made my rectum bleed. That was a first with a bowel prep. And lastly, it did a poor job of cleaning my bowels. This is my 5th time doing this, and this was the worst bowel prep! Give me a Miralax and Dulcolax combo any day! This stuff was no good!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "It’s 12:18 AM and I’m typing this as I sit on my bed in agony waiting for the next mad dash to the bathroom. Let’s start with the taste....imagine drinking salty acidic artificially sweetened sugar water. It’s DISGUSTING! The first bottle at 5pm I chugged like a champ along with 5 8oz glasses of water thereafter. Round two however and your girl is struggling. Halfway through bottle No. 2 and I got hit with a massive wave of nausea. I literally had to gag down the rest of the solution. Now I’m trying to get through 5 more 8oz glasses of water and this much water on an empty stomach is making the nausea even worse. I’ve been going to the bathroom ever 15 minutes or so since 5:30pm. Now with bottle number 2 I imagine I’ll be up right until my colonoscopy in the morning. The good news is there is no abdominal cramping, but the taste and the nausea have left me with no desire to ever do this again."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I gave it a 10 out of 10. Best Bowel prep I have used! There are 2 small bottles of super sweet liquid. Took it in sips with lots of other water/liquids. Not hard AT ALL (considering I had vomited up prior high volume preps). Not a fan of sweet drinks so mostly drank chicken "not your average bullion" in between, with water, tea, etc. One dose in the evening, the other early the morning of. Easy as can be. Rate 10"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Not bad at all. The taste is okay. I would really recommend using a straw and washing your mouth out after drinking because it does have a lingering taste. I drank the required clear liquid for both parts within an hour of drinking the prep, and it started working 30 minutes later. What comes out is pretty much water. I had no rush to go to the bathroom and was able to sleep through the night between preps."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Couldn’t be happier with this preparation!!! Prepped using the split dose method. Used a soft diet the day before the prep that included white bread toast and Kellogg’s Corn flakes, and 32 ounces of Gatorade. The day of prep, drank tons of water, the small bottle of prep ( about the equivalent of approximately three or four shot glasses) . Followed by second small bottle next morning together with 3 cups of water. The syrup tastes very sweet but found that when warm chicken broth was taken between sips, the broth was amazing for treating the after taste. Will definitely use again in the future!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I have a hereditary genetic condition that requires me to undergo a colonoscopy every year. I had not used Clenpiq before After having only clear liquids all day and following the instructions exactly, I found that the product did not work! It took 8 hours for anything to happen. I drank more fluids than the 40 ounces stated. Due to the very long time for results from the first bottle, I drank the second one an hour earlier than I had to. Again, nothing happened for 5 hours ! And it was never clean enough. I called my doctor's office the morning of my test to find out what to do, and my procedure had to be canceled"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "One hour after drinking first bottle of Clenpiq went to bathroom and vomited for over an hour constantly. Bowels didn’t move for another hour or so. I was freezing and wrapped a blanket around me. Next the horrible sweats started. My hair was soaked. I was so miserable I couldn’t get comfortable. I started shaking and I had tingling in my feet and hands. I could barely speak because my teeth were chattering. I asked my husband to stay close because I was really scared and at one point thought I might be having a stroke because my left leg felt numb. He handed me the phone and I called the doctor on call. He said I would be fine and side effects like this are rare and he would cancel my colonoscopy. After starting to evacuate my bowels the horrible side effects started to ease. Did some more vomiting and finally was able to lay down for a bit. It’s 12:40 in the morning and I’m still pooing, feel weak, have a headache and can’t wait to never use Clenpiq again."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "My first prep 1.5 years ago I used Miralax (sp), and I was surprised by the number of trips to the toilet, and small volume on each trip. This time I used Clenpiq, went down fine. Took the first one at 5 pm, and the second at 9 pm. Much fewer trips to the toilet, but bigger volume per. Was totally cleaned out by 10 pm. I ate a breakfast sandwich in the AM, liquid otherwise. I was not starving at all throughout the course of the evening, so maybe had a slight stomach discomfort that held back my appetite, but better than feeling starved. If you eat somewhat healthy, have a light breakfast the day before, and do both doses afternoon/evening and you can avoid the 4 am 2nd dose nonsense. Will absolutely use this next time around."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "First, I will confirm that I followed all my doctor's instructions precisely. After the first dose pf clenpiq at 5 pm I had a terrible headache. 40 minutes after taking the second dose at 10 pm the nausea and vomiting started. From 10:40 pm to 3:36 pm I was sitting on the toilet throwing up in the trash can. I was mostly but not completely cleaned out. The doctor wrote on the report that the colonoscopy was difficult because there was "retained stool." That was no surprise since I'm sure I puked up most of the 2nd dose."
